for about/8 months I have been suffering from diarrhea and I have found on many occasions what appears to be worms. I went to Morocco in sept 14 but this started a couple of months before. Sometimes I have to go poo immediately after I've eaten. I have done a parasite test with my GP by sending a sample of my poo off with what I thought was worms in, but the test came back negative.
As a kid I think I was 11? I was once pooping and had wurms at some occurrence I even pood out something weird and round that at the time I was sure was an organ. The last thing I never knew really what it was. But as a kid I thought it was my kidney haha!
Anyway moving back to the wurms I have had some worms in my poo at that time. I never paid it attention and as I got older I kept checking but couldn't find any wurms! The thing is I don't know if this has healed itself or if the wurms are still active and if so what to do.
I read you can get some medication take that and after two weeks take it again (because of the eggs.) I also read putting petroleum jelly on the buttocks can kill the eggs. What should I do?
Let's say I have no wurms can it harm to take that certain medication? I am quite disgusted by it and my memory is not as good anymore I am almost 22 now. So I would like to put an end to the wurm infection if I should have one.
Can you have wurms? Even if they do not show up in your poop and can I then with 100% certainty say that I have wurms and what medication should I go for then?
I am a male who received unprotected oral sex from unknown CSW status 24 weeks ago. I already did HIV test and it is negative, so basically I am asking about other STDs, should I test for any. If yes what test should I do and what will be the window period for them If I test tomorrow it will be 24 weeks post exposure.
View 3 RepliesThree weeks ago I went to the emergency room after noticing some red spots on my penis while I was showering. I was very concerned since this was the first time I had seen these spots. After the ER doctor and the physician assistant looked at me, they diagnosed me with genital herpes. I was devastated and thought my life was ruined. They prescribed me acyclovir 5 times a day for 10 days, took the viral culture samples of my spots on my penis and sent them out to be tested. They told me that if the results came back positive for herpes they would call me and it would take approximately 7 to 10 days for the results. I was positive that they would call me, since the doctor and his physician were sure from their experience that it was genital herpes.
Two weeks later and I do not get a call from them. I am surprised. I decided to call them to see what was going on since for the past three weeks I was sure I had herpes. I called the lab to get an update and I was informed that the viral culture test for genital herpes and gonorrhea came back negative. I was both relieved yet surprised. I am excited my results came back negative, but if it is not genital herpes, then what do/did I have?
Here are some more facts regarding my situation:
- Whenever I had sex with my partner (I am a straight male, have only had sex with women), the spots appeared approximately 5 days later. This has been the first time I have been tested for std's. In addition to the viral culture test, they also performed a urine tests to tests for other std's and it came back negative.
- The acyclovir helped the red spots in my penis and it is back to normal now except for a small dot.
- The physician assistant told me that even though the tests came back negative, that I should follow up with my doctor, which I plan to do.
- Whenever I noticed these red spots on my penis, they did not hurt when urinating or hurt in any other way. I did not have a painful rash or pain like I have read in other websites. I felt completely normal and I do not have any other physical symptoms.
The question that I now have is, if it is not genital herpes, then what is it? Have any of you been misdiagnosed with genital herpes only to learn it was something else? While I am happy that my test came back negative, I am wondering what it could be.
My mother, who I told about this and trust about this, says it could just be an allergic reaction. Sometimes outbreaks appear on my skin, especially in the stomach and back whenever I shower with hot water. These outbreaks on my body have been happening for years, even before I lost my virginity 5 years ago.
I recently got tested for all stds and stis, this includes swabs, blood work and pelvic exams. Things came back negative but I read online that tests can be false negative. Do I have any reason to keep worrying? I've called the doctors back and they said their tests are accurate and said I shouldn't worry. But I can't get over this. I have been with the same man for four years, and recently stopped taking my anti depressants and anxiety medicine. Do you think this that's why I keep worrying? I can't get in to see a therapist. And can't get this out of my mind.

Exposure was 10 yrs ago. Could I be in late stage aids and not know it and possibly not producing enough antibodies? Please help I just keep thinking what if they were false and I'm dying. It says 1 in 12 could get a false negative a 8% false negative rate. I think about it everyday and I'm scared to go to a doctor. I read online articles everyday too. Its becoming an extreme fear. What are my chances?
View 1 RepliesBasically I am 25 years old and as i've grown up I've noticed more and more that I was getting stomach cramps and bloating more and more often. It is very sporadic and I couldn't really say exactly what was causing it but I just thought it was normal. This was until the last 12 months when I started to think a bit more about it. I do a lot of exercise and play a lot of football. I was finding that I would get some form of cramp during a football game. Usually quite mild but sometimes worse. I also like to run and when training for a half marathon found that after a certain distance I would get pains. Almost every time after about 30-40 minutes running. It would normally be worse when running in the evenings. I started thinking about it and tried taking several things out of my diet. I am 95% certain I have a lactose intolerance as since cutting that out around 6 months ago I have seen an improvement. But I would still get pains.
This all resulted in me going Gluten Free and I finally experienced what it feels like to have a normal stomach. I was relaxed and could do whatever I wanted without any fear. So I decided for my own health I should get tested for celiacs disease and after 7 weeks of eating gluten again had the blood tests. Today I had the results and they have come back negative. I feel so deflated and just angry. What do I do now? I just feel like going back to Gluten Free and living like that self diagnosed. The weird thing I find with my disorder is it seems to be worse when i'm up and about. If me and my fiancee have gone out around town and have lunch it is often worse when walking around afterwards. I don't always get blinding pains either. It is often just severe constipation or stomach cramps just making me feel uncomfortable.
Really disheartening now and just want to know but can't carry on for much longer and really don't want to keep eating Gluten when I know I feel good when I don't. Any advise?
It may be now that you are free of the actual worms that you are suffering from delusional parasitosis. I have read of many cases where the person suffers all the irritation but they do not have the worms.
It may be that you could benefit from some anti-depressants.
I have been taking them, and although my situation if not the same as yours, I have really benefited from the.
No sympathy from the doctor because the swabs came back negative, and he felt that I should be grateful for the result that the anti-depressants gave me.
I will however, in the future when I have given my body a rest from both medication and 'so called' herbal remedies, I will try again.
As you have stated no-one understand the constant itching and irritation, and they have little sympathy.
I have had a few pregnancy symptoms like little to no bleeding, more pinky goo to be frank, and very very sore nipples almost like slightly bruised,I get teary at daft things
I have had tests to check hormonal level all were ok I've also had an ultrasound to check all there no obvious problems

View 2 RepliesI'm having trouble to poop for 2 days now and on top of that i have painful hemorrhoids ,every time i feel i wanna poop i go to the bathroom and sit and go through a lot of pain just so the poop go out a little bit and then go in , and all the pain i went through is for nothing , sometimes a little piece come out and the rest disappear !! i'm really desperate and need to solve this before going to the doctor tomorrow with my back full of ... View 2 RepliesI am currently on mirtazapine which has been great for me, quickly clearing my depression and insomnia, as well as stopping my migraines, nausea and allergies. However, after four years, it has 'pooped out' and I am back to depression and insomnia so I am going to withdraw slowly from it. I started taking 12 grams of inositol yesterday in the hope that it will help me through the withdrawal.
Just wondering if anyone has tried inositol and if so, what were your experiences and how much do you take and when? Has it helped your depression? Has it helped with insomnia? Any problems?
For those of you who haven't heard of it, it is a naturally occurring substance which used to be called vitamin B8, but as the body can make it it is now not classed as a vitamin. There have been some studies which have shown it to be as effective as SSRIs for treating depression when taken at the rate of 12 grams per day.
I am taking 6 grams with my breakfast in my mug of tea, and 6 grams after dinner in a soft drink. It is sweet so you need less sugar if you are mixing it into your tea or coffee.
I have the symptoms of lyme except for the characteristic bull's eye rash - chronic pain, numbness/tingling, fatigue, bad memory.
The ELISA test came back negative, I am thinking of getting the Western blot test done. Can the Western blot come back with a false negative?

View 1 RepliesHello! I was recently back in February diagnosed with hpv. I had full blood work done and I have no other diseases or infections. I've also not had sex since before the testing. I recently noticed I have two painful blisters, one on the inside of my labia and the other on the other lip. I shave and I've had ingrown hairs but these definitely don't feel the same. They are super uncomfortable. I'm unable to go to the doctor until The end of the week and wanted to see if anyone knew what they might be? And any temporary ideas for pain relief? Over the counters pain killers do nothing. Also, I have extremely bad allergies to pollen and with the pollen, came these blisters, so I am not sure if they are related. I've added pictures below. Thanks for the help.

View 1 RepliesI'm an 18 year old female and i'm not sure if I have threadworms or not. I first had them when I was 15. Don't know how or why because i'm a pretty clean person. A few years past and then two months ago I somehow contracted them again. So I went to the doctors got tablets did the ritual of deep cleaning my bedroom, changing bed sheets everyday and washing at least 3-4 times of day (because it makes me feel horrible knowing I have them) Everything was fine and then about, 3 weeks ago I got this terrible itch once again. I had some tablets left over from the last time so I took my first and nothing improve and i've taken the second literally half an hour ago.
What i'm confused about is, i've never actually seen these pesky things this time around because you can usually see them in your faeces etc. and i've also checked and seen nothing in that region. (sorry for the tmi.) I don't know, if it's just physiological and nothing's actually there? Because I have anxiety disorder and have for many years now.

one day i went to the bathroom because my vagina started to itch really bad, so i took my panties off to look at it, and there was a clearish white worm wiggling around. this happened to me two times already. i have no idea what it was, but i'm kinda scared that there was a worm there.
