After my down day the other day I have started to pick up again until my next period is due!! It's feels good to have some better days in between cycles. However I am sick of feeling light/fuzzy headed. I feel as if I'm in dream state sometimes but awake if you get my meaning. It is like you have a cloud in your head.
Is this connected to the hrt or anxiety or the combination of meds I'm on?
I had bad head and neck pains and lightheaded/dizzy days for about 18 months. Would last a day or two then feel fine in between. Held down a super full time career and ran a home really well. Was successful etc. But since xmas when I had a major headache/pain in the back lower part of one side of my head which started boxing day and went on and on I saw a neuro who thinks it is occipital neuralgia. On gabapentin and awaiting some procedures in theatre to help (I hope!) Anyone else have this out there?

I thought after having to clear CT scans, seeing an ENT doctor twice, having an echocardiogram and wearing a heart monitor for 24hrs and having a scan on my neck and numerous other checks and bloods that I would start to feel better knowing that everything is checking out to be fine but unfortunately not it's just not going away just when I think that things are improving and I have a good day it comes back and bites me in the backside today being a good example I've felt OK all day then go to bath my kids and bang it hits me, I go all dizzy and my body feels very heavy and like I'm being pulled to the right all the time then I go into panic mode and worry about what is happening to me, how I feel and what if I pass out, I'm so sick of worrying about what's going on all the time it's taking over my life!
I also had a call from the docs about some bloods I had done last week they want to see me so wondering if anything has showed up on them!
For as long as I can remember I have always had a fast heart rate, I can often feel my heart beating in my chest and it feels like I can hear it in my ears. I also have low blood pressure, although it isn't low enough to need medication. Often I feel light headed, I don't know how to explain the sensation but the closest I can describe it is that once I fainted and got a similar feeling just before, it is almost like a rush of blood to the head? Sometimes I get a pain in my chest that is sudden and like a stabbing pain, it happens in the centre of my chest, slightly to the left, where you assume your heart is i guess. When this happens I can only take very shallow breaths or I get more stabbing pains, this happens fairly infrequently which is why I haven't been to the doctors about it. Does anyone know what might be wrong with me?
View 6 RepliesIt started two days ago when I started getting dizzy and lightheaded. Kind of like when you are going to sleep and you start having that floating feeling (fun at that time, but not when you are acting for young children). Later that day I started getting chills and shivers. No fever. I also got very painful trapped gas. (The gas is not unusual for me when I don't eat enough). That evening I started getting a stabbing pain by my left hip bone (ovary?) and it was radiating to my rib cage and back around to my lower back.
Yesterday, all of the above continued and my entire lower back was sore. On the pain scale it is about an 8. I have a very high tolerance for pain. I also have a mild headache in addition to all of this. And I have random shooting pains all over my body.
The pain was less this morning, bit is getting worse as the day goes on. I can barely stand and function.
I am breastfeeding a 9 month old if that makes a difference. I not pregnant.
Three weeks ago, to my great surprise, I started to bleed after one year. The 2-3 weeks preceding this, my breasts were so sore, I was bloated and I has the typical "stringy" discharge that I used to get before my period. I was really not expecting another period but the bleeding was heavy and lasted for just over a week.
I saw my doctor a few days ago and she that she is obliged to send me for an ultrasound and possible biopsy if the lining looks thick. She said she is not worried but I am freaking out.
Can anyone share a similar experience? I read on one website that it is actually possible to ovulate and have a period after you stop menstruating for a year. I have not had any spotting - just this one "period". Of course, everything I have read says how abnormal it is to bleed after menopause and now I'm scared that there is something serious going on. My ultrasound is booked for two days from now.
I'm 42 and recently had blood work to check my hormones. My GYN said my labs suggested post menopause. I have yet to stop having a monthly. My periods are starting to range from 30-45 days but I've yet to skip a month. My husband and I were considering trying one last time to have another baby. Very confused
View 2 RepliesI'm 36 and have recently had a blood test at doctors to check for menopause, came back that my estrogen is non existent! I have a very long list of symptoms that made me convinvce the doctor to do the test. She told me if I can cope with the symptoms it would be best as she didn't agree with issuing HRT due to the risks, what are the main risks? Google is a good place to assure yourself your dying (maybe a bit extreme lol) but all I seem to find is contradicting risks and benefits, I was wondering if anyone else has any experience with taking HRT at such a young age and what exactly the "risks" are, I am so depressed at feeling like I do and I just want to "feel myself again" it seams so long since I felt like me
View 9 RepliesI'm 52 and been suffering years now with the menopause thought I was just going round the bend but after reading these posts I don't feel like that now, My periods just stopped 3 years ago and never seen or spotted again so in that way I have been lucky but mental health wise anxiety and depression hot sweats vomiting without warning have blighted my life. I've only just bothered going to see a doctor as I just thought I couldn't cope any longer but didn't really get anywhere I take Paroxetine and diazepam and trying to control such negativity and weird thoughts in my mind. I worry about my health and dying and loosing my husband but assume that's the menopause after reading some posts I feel like I'm just waiting to die I have some agoraphobia and can't leave the house alone but will go to the shops in a car with my husband. Can I ask when you use the term peri or pari what does that mean ? Also how long do you think menopause symptoms carry on for ?
View 37 RepliesOMG after my bladder totally settling down after going on HRT and a bladder med I had a few glasses of wine on Saturday for my birthday!! First drink for weeks and weeks...bladder now upset again. Nothing like it was but upset none the less. Why did I do that!!!!! I hope it settles again...anxiety is raging!

View 3 RepliesI have not gotten my period yet for the month of January, only a 2 hour slight brown discharge...never missed before either. Being 49, almost 50 in a few months, I am not surprised that I have missed a period at this age. Really looking into peri menopause, I think I have dealt with it for years, but always chalked it up to something else.
Right now this is what concerns me.....I have had feelings of the "phantom period", but than again, the month isn't over just yet, so maybe I still will get a period this month. I have some PMS symptoms, but the irrablitlity which was always a huge thing for me has not surfaced, that to me just does'nt seem normal since so many women make that their number one complaint. Oh trust me, I had it all the time, just not this month....yet...lol...
Now, my newest thing is extreme bloat! Holy Cow, I feel like I am cramming myself into my pants, yet my weight has not fluctuated only by 1/2 pound!
My menopause nurse has changed hrt from everol to levial I started first pill today but my gp gave me fluoxetine last week cause I was depressed.I am wondering what is one of drugs don't agree with me I will not know what one is causing the prob so am I better of not taking fluoxetine just to see if levial helps with my depression.
View 27 RepliesI'm not sure what happened but the hot flashes that have been relentless for about four years and up to three an hour have gone! It's been about a week now, I noticed one day that they diminished and today not one! I'm sleeping much better and I am in a great mood. No more feelings of doom . I have my 58 th birthday coming soon. Do you think I'm done? Is the nightmare over? I hope so . I am having sore breasts and I'm not sure why. I haven't had a period for about two years. Fingers crossed that they don't come back . I like this feeling, it's like the old me is back.

Had a biopsy 2 years ago and came out ok. I am 60 years old with prolapse
level 3 cystocele. Was getting bladder infections every 3 months and seems like I was always on antibiotics which I am starting to get immune to. Not sure if I should be getting a D&C or just another biopsy. No bleeding at all. Also they are giving me General ANESthesia which don't know if this is the right choice. Also how long do you need to stay home after before returning to work? REally appreciate your help. Scared!!! May need repair lift or hysterectomy. Not sure which one or if should take out ovaries of leave in and just do lift. Just don't know what to do. Don't like pessaries
This is going to sound weird, but is anyone else really really thirsty? I can't seem to get enough to drink. Of course I've been short of breath so maybe that has something to do with it? So tired of this.

quick bio.....I'm 48 no periods for 9/10 months, a plethora of symptoms, also have inflammatory arthritis (inject MTX weekly) fibromyalgia asthma blood pressure anxiety.
I have been reading up on Premarin and I see the lowest dose is .03 mg is it possible to cut that in half .15mg and will it help hot flashes? I need help with menopause symptoms I am in full menopause have not had a period since age of 45 and am now 52 and in full menopause. Not sleeping, hot flashes...... Am kinda of scared of taking this but need help I also have Graves' disease.
View 6 RepliesI have to believe that all of my worries and illnesses right now are somewhat peri related and I'm at my wit's end. I have a nasty sinus infection that I can't kick..I think I'm allergic to my cat and I'll have to give him up. I'm waiting on my period..it should be here..my head feels like it's going to pop off my body and I'm so anxious and all I can do is focus on the negative. I feel sick now all the time and I really am tired of it. So tired. I think my peri just makes everything else worse. This would be something I could handle years ago...now it's like every little thing is the end of the world. I want this to go away...I'm done with this change stuff.
