Plantar Fasciitis :: In Right Foot, Pain In Left Foot

I have suffered with plantar fasciitis in my right foot for about a year now.

It originally started after a knee operation and a torn calf muscle after an accident.

The pain in my right foot is so unbearable that I opted for a steroid injection last year. I watched some of the youtube videos to see that some numb the area first then inject.. Not my GP...Straight in with the steroid and it was so painful I kept saying "Oh my god oh my god". Well it didn't work and I know that I will NEVER have another one. The pain is more than before.

My left foot has now got a pain across the top of the foot.inferior extensor retinaculum I think it's called.

Have asked my Doc & local pharmacist who both have not heard of statins causing foot problems, suggesting I go back on same tablets after 4wks off

and see if pain returns, if so Doc suggested trying Atorvastatin 10mg

Foot / Ankle :: 13 Weeks Post Op Tarsal Tunnel And Plantar Fasciitis

I feel I have been getting no help from foot doctor. Hopefully someone here can help. I am 13 weeks post op for tarsal tunnel and plantar fasciitis surgery. I have recently thrown my back out because I can not walk right. I am walking on part of my incision. It feels like it is going to rip open, burns and this part looks different from the rest of inclusion. My doctor is giving me ultrasound therapy on incision but it is not working. I asked to go to physical therapy but he does not believe in it. I am at wits end. Hurts foot to walk and walking makes my back feel better. I am not in any form of a cast. I am walking with sneakers that he recommended. No arch support because that is where incision is located. I am getting very depressed with summer here and I can not enjoy it. I do not see the doctor for 2 more weeks. Any advice or suggestions? I keep getting Vicodin for pain but I am afraid of getting addicted. Can not take Advil or anything in that family.

Plantar Fibromatosis After 20 Years Of Plantar Fasciitis

I have suffered from plantar fasciitis for over 20 years. I have had special inserts made, bought and bought inserts, bought and bought shoes, I am now BROKE. I have had so many cortisone shots in both feet I can no longer get them, I have nerve damage in my left foot. Last year I was diagnosed with palmar fibromatosis, and also plantar fibromatosis. I had surgery on my hand, and the knots came back worse, the knots in my feet are getting really bad. I can barely walk. I am on my feet 7 1/2 hours of 8 hours (no breaks except lunch), and I walk and walk, and my feet are killing me. I have cried until I have no tears left. I can not find a doctor willing to do surgery on me. They say they don't want to take the risk. I have even traveled far away for a treatment that I hear works, but that doctor said I had too much scar tissue to do the procedure.

I am at my wits end, I am in such HORRIBLE shape. I have seriously thought about laying down on the railroad tracks and letting it cut my feet OFF.
I live in Virginia, does anyone know of a doctor that can help me? What should I do?

Plantar Fasciitis :: Methods That Can Help

I have Plantar Fasciitis for a month. I have tried many methods including anti-inflammatory medicine and plaster, soak in hot water [which makes it worst], etc..... I don't believe in western medication as anti-inflammatory will merely stop you from feeling the pain temporary and steroid injection has side effects.

I believe the below will help:-

1) No running or high impact exercise

2) Taking homeopathy medicine

3) Reduce weight [as I am overweight]

4) Have correct posture in standing and walking

5) Wear special shoes for heel pain or insert heel pain relief sole into my working shoes

6) Go swimming which is a good exercise for PF

I believe the above will speed up my recovery ......

Lastly, have faith in myself!

Plantar Fasciitis :: Hip Arthroscopy Relieved It

I don't know if this will help anyone, but thought I'd post it in case it does. I had been suffering from painful plantar fasciitis for 5 months with no relief from painkillers, icing, physio exercises or stretching. Then 4 weeks ago I had a hip arthroscopy that meant my leg being put in traction for the procedure. I woke up with the plantar fasciitis completely gone, and so far there are no signs of it returning. I wondered whether there are any physiotherapists or other medical professionals that may be able to offer some sort of traction treatment to give that extra stretch to the muscles to relieve or possibly even get rid of plantar fasciitis for others. It might be worth considering as a treatment option if there are no other risks associated.

Heel Pain :: Plantar Fasciitis Or Tendonitis?

I have had this going on for 3 years now and still no closer to an outcome. The pain is in the back of both heels and when touched is really painful. I have had xrays, ultrasounds and an MRI for Plantar and tendonitis but both have been ruled out as nothing showing up. The symptoms led them to believe it was one or the other ie Plantar or Tendonitis, I can hardly walk when I get out of bed and when I point my toes to the air it pulls around the back of my heel. As I work in retail and I'm on my feet all day my feet ache the longer the day goes on and by the time I get home I shuffle along as the pain hurts too much. Once I sit down and rest for as little as 10 minutes I feel everything tighten up and is hard to walk. I have now been told by my the consultant that he doesn't think the pain is in my feet and if it is he can't find it so has now made me an appointment to see the spinal team that's if they are willing to see me. Surely if I am in pain and can't get through a day without any then surely there must be a problem somewhere. At 40 years old I find myself not being able to do the things I love like long distance walking and being out in the fresh air instead. I spend most of my free time resting my feet so I can be ready for the following day as its a constant struggle with the pain.

Plantar Fasciitis :: Heel Pain For Months

I have been suffering with heel pain for 7 months. Very frustrating. I left a job in december because standing up for prolonged hours was too painful. Have discomfort in my current job but the hours are shorter so it is more bearable.

Just wondering if anyone has suffered with heel pain for a similar length of time and if it ever went away eventually?

Plantar Fasciitis :: Both Feet - Steroid Injections?

I've had PF in one foot for best part of a year, now in both feet for the last 4 weeks. Im in excruciating pain as I'm sure most people who suffer from PF can relate to. Painkillers I have been prescribed up till now are useless but my GP is giving me stronger ones for when I go on holiday in 2 weeks so I can walk around hopefully. He has told me that when I return from hols, I will be having steroid injections. I'm interested to know what other sufferers think regarding this and also if it has helped the people who have had the injection.

Plantar Fasciitis Due To Ankylosing Spondylitis - Pain Management?

I am new to this forum so I apologise if I am doing things wrong. I have have AS for many years, well controlled with NSAIDs but plantar fasciitis is causing me a lot of pain at the moment. Does anyone have any ideas about the best sorts of treatment? Most web sites seem to concentrate on PF caused by running, being overweight etc rather than AS? If this has already been discussed, could someone direct me to the relevant threads?

Plantar Fasciitis :: Six Sessions Of Shock Wave Therapy

Last year I had six sessions of shock wave therapy for plantar fasciitis, a condition I have had for 4 plus years.  The shock wave therapy calmed this down considerably for two/three months.  However I am now back to square one, so unfortunately it did not work.  I would like to know if there is anyone who has gone down this route a second time, with positive results.  So, if anyone has experienced a second bout of SWT successful or otherwise, I would be delighted to hear from you.
