Vasomotor Rhinitis :: Weather, Temperature, Wind Blowing Triggers My Blood Vessels To Swell

Jun 10, 2016

I have been experiencing clogged nose without colds, Pain around the eyes, forehead, the temple, migraine headaches, dizziness and imbalance when walking. A visit to the ENT showed normal hearing, no ear blockage or infections, no sinusitis or nasal polyps. His diagnosis is Vasomotor rhinitis. He said the weather, temperature, wind blowing triggers my blood vessels to swell and thus cause those symptoms. Anyone experiencing these weird feelings? Its so debilitating and affects my daily activities.

Bruising/broken Blood Vessels Of Fingers - Also Central Retinal Vein Occlusion

I have had blood tests to investigate the central retinal vein occlusion I had in September. Apparently the tests were okay - slightly raised in one area but not bad enough for the haematologist to get back to me, when my eye consultant asked for advice. I commented that I. Bruise easily but my consultant said the raised level would indicate the opposite.  The CRVO was caused by haemorrhaging in the eye.  I quite often get bruising/broken blood vessels in my fingers - got one today on the middle section of my ring finger, by applying my handbrake! Does this make sense to anybody? I'm fed up of explaining this to the various medics I see, who just look at me with a bemused expression!  Am I going mad here??

Supraventricular Tachycardia :: Syringe Blowing Is Successful

Go to your doctor or pharmacist and obtain a 20ml syringe. When you suffer an attack loosen the plunger in the syringe by moving it up and down the barrel several times. Put your lips to the spout at the end of the syringe and, blowing as hard as you can blow the plunger fully to the end of the barrel. If your eyes do not pop out you will find that your heart rate has returned to normal. When this treatment was first given to me in A&E I found it hard to believe. Now I use it successfully with every attack.

Cold Weather And Copd

I was diagnosed with copd two years ago and use a serovent inhaler twice a day and have a ventolin for back up. This is my second winter since being diagnosed and the cold weather seems to be affecting me more this year. My spiro test in January showed a slight improvement but generally l feel more breathless and l wondered if maybe l should ask for a change of inhaler. Does anyone know of an alternative to serovent or is it just the weather making me feel worse.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome :: Heat / Temperature Related?

I have had several MDs tell me to not eat spicy or gas producing vegetables, whoever I can eat those with no problem. What sets my IBS off is becoming physically hot, through exercise, environment, or thermally hot food. And paradoxically if I become cold and then move to warmer environment rapidly or warm to extremely environment. Emotional upset can also set it off. And It can last for hours in bathroom. The only thing that stops it for me is the Medicine Donnatal. I've tried Imodium (.it might slow me down two days after episode, maybe), also Bentyl, so what more helpful for than Imodium. Does anyone else have heat related IBS and what are your management strategies?

Back Issues :: Numbness - Still Feel Pressure /pain / Temperature

For about a week or so I've been having some slight numbness. It started as tingling in my lower face, but now much of my body has a slight numbness to it. It's not complete numbness, as I can still feel pressure/pain/temperature, but it seems to be getting worse. I've had a small amount of back pain recently as well, but no real injuries/trauma that I can remember. Can a simply back issue be causing this diffuse numbness? Is there any chance this is all permanent? Or could a chiropractor/PT set things straight?

Foot / Ankle Surgery :: Does The Weather Affect You?

I'm now about 4 1/2 - 5 months post op. Walking again, doing great. We've had a lot of storms lately. Today I was doing great, then all of a sudden my foot started hurting, having pangs of pain/zingers, I was grocery shopping and noticed a turn in the weather. By the time it started pouring rain I was in uncomfortable pain. I just wanted to finish, get home and put ice on my foot, and I haven't done that in quite a while now.

It was like I felt the break in my heel, just an all over pain in my foot.

If I said that I 'knew' where the screws where, I think this crew are the only ones who would understand that...

Fluoxetine :: Excessive Wind And Diarrhea

I have been taking this for several weeks now and have noticed a change which I'm rather embarrassed to mention to my GP.  I am suffering from excessive (and somewhat explosive) wind, irrespective of how much, or how little, I eat. I have also recently had 2 episodes of violent diarrhoea, both lasting several days.

Lansoprazole :: Side Effects - Bad Wind And Burping

I have just completed a month course of this medication, prescribed due to possible acid reflux. I got rid of the final tablet as I feel the side effects were too bad to carry on even for just one more day. I felt worn out - very bad wind and burping from week one - my husband commented on this. Also feeling as though I would throw up at any minute - still a bit of shoulder pain but the chest pain has now diminished. Had a couple of nights when I did not even go to bed it was that bad so perhaps that is why I am so tired. Now two days after my last tablet I still have a lot of wind which does not seem to be shifting - maybe I will try charcoal tabs as I have heard that these work well. Still stressed out at work so I suppose I will have to put up with this until I retire. Really makes me fee so depressed and unhappy

Gallbladder Removed :: Stomach Bloated And Lot Of Wind After 4 Months

Had gallbladder removed last November, and everything was fine, only issue that the surgeon had was bladder had adhered to other organs, hence look longer to remove. But all ok.

Everything was fine for 4 months, then started getting same dull ache/pain across top of my stomach. Along with this started to get bloated stomach and also a lot of wind. Lived with it for a time and started taking Buscopan again.Although have the ache during the day it gets worse when I go to bed and lie down, and can only sleep on my back.

Have been to the GP, who says it could be adhesions, however he has now referred me to the Consultant surgeon who operated on me.

Has any else had a similar experience after the operation.

Gastric Band Surgery - Awful Trapped Wind Post Op

Hi, I had my gastric band surgery on Saturday by single incision laparoscopy. I'm experiencing awful trapped wind which is making it difficult to sleep...Wind Eze hasn't been of much help and neither has peppermint tea, does anyone have any other ideas?

Also - I have low blood sugar due to the lack of eating. I've been increasing my intake but this hasn't got rid of the symptoms. Has anyone else experience dizziness, nausea and weakness? If so, how did you solve it?

Ovarian Cyst? Frequent Urination And Indigestion / Wind / Belching

About 4 weeks ago, I started with very frequent urination and indigestion/wind/belching. Both symptoms were intermittent, but worse when I got my period. My bladder constantly felt full, achy and very uncomfortable, even after passing urine. I was treated for a UTI with antibiotics, but not much relief and no bacteria found in urine. However the symptoms do come and go and vary in intensity. Other symptoms - a noticeably larger, bloated looking abdomen, which feels heavy & draggy at times (I'm not pregnant) sometimes a stitch type sensation and slightly achy sides, but not bad. My periods have also changed recently - shorter cycle and heavier/longer periods. Full bloods done which all came back normal and good. CA125 results also came back normal/good. Doc thinks perhaps still UTI or slight prolapse or fibroid. Someone else mentioned IBS. I've booked an app with a gynaecologist in two weeks and am also awaiting an ultrasound app. I am 42 years old and otherwise fit and healthy... Oh, apart from a wee anxiety issue! Namely, health anxiety! Great! I'm worried and wondering what it could be. I'm thinking maybe a cyst!?

Rhinitis Or Hay Fever ?

The symptoms first started 9 years ago when I found out I was pregnant and were quite severe throughout my pregnancy (symptoms such as runny itchy eyes that feel dry at the same time, very fast flowing runny nose that drips, sneezing fits, loss of smell, headaches, lack of energy). the symptoms then began to fade away as the years went by but have came back with a vengeance over the past 12 months, it makes working hard and stops me from doing normal day to day things as I feel like going and locking myself away.

I will be visiting my Dr in the next week to tell him that it is not hayfever that it is infact rhinitis and I want something done about it.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome :: Fybogel Mebeverine, Colpermin, Wind Eze, Buscopan Didn't Work

I have diagnosed with IBS for nearly 2 years now and have tried a number of medicines (including Fybogel Mebeverine, Colpermin, Wind Eze, Buscopan hyoscine butylbromide, and VSL#3).  This has been complimented by cutting out gluten and following the Fodmap diet.  Nothing has changed and I’m an in constant discomfort i.e. every day, with peaks of pain (stomach pains, wind, need for toilet etc.) and troughs of just simple discomfort in the stomach.  I have lost count of the amount of times I have gone to the doctors and I’m now being broadly told: “you have IBS, deal with it”.  Does anyone have any similar experience of this and has anyone got any suggestions as to what I can try next?  I feel that I am stuck.
