Zoloft Withdrawal - A Brief Electric Charge Is Sent Through My Brain

Jul 19, 2015

I have a lot of unanswered questions about the withdraw process of Zoloft.

In my desperate attempts to wean myself or completely stop taking it all together, I find myself just going back to my regular dosage of 150 mg a night. this medicine has changed me as a person all together. I was diagnosed with stress induced asthma 2 years ago and since then been on zoloft. I am no longer the outgoing, energetic, and spontaneous teen that i was and i have had just about enough of it.

Well now its day 4 of my withdraws My mind is racing and i cant focus on one particular thought.

every few minutes it feels like a brief electric charge is sent through my brain and body.

sex is not of interest to me (girlfriend= not happy) I feel weak, very very week. No energy to do anything, i just want to sleep. easily annoyed and angered (almost impossible to control) dizziness and fatigue are setting in. headache from hell.

if any of this sounds familiar or you can relate to and you have tried this for yourself. Let me know if its possible to just STOP.

Sertraline :: Zoloft - Brain Buzzing Vision Twitching Episodes

im on 100mg zoloft and have been since April 30 so approx 2.5 months. I was slowly upped from 25 to 50 to 75 to 100 over the course of a month. The last 2 weeks (but not daily) i've been getting those weird brain buzzing vision twitching episodes even when I haven't missed a dose. I normally take the meds at night after dinner and if I forget, by morning im getting those weird feelings and they don't go away for quite a while even after remembering the dose. I don't miss a dose often, maybe 2 or 3 times since I started taking it. Anyone else have this happen?! Does that mean my dose needs to be upped?!

Anxiety :: No Withdrawal On Day 4 Without Zoloft

In January I was prescribed 50mg of Zoloft for anxiety. Recently it started making me feel "drugged" and I weaned off with doctor's permission. Sunday was my last dose of the Zoloft and I am going on day 4 with no Zoloft. So far so good. I was wondering if I would have already experienced withdrawals from the meds by day 4? My doctor doesn't seem to think I will suffer major symptoms cause I was on a low dose and not for very long.

Sertraline :: How To Get Off Zoloft Without Withdrawal?

I started Zoloft 25mg  on 5/18/15 today is 5/21/15. The side effects are wicked and I don't want to take these anymore. Should I just cut the tablet in half and take for a couple days. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Sertraline :: BAD Zoloft Withdrawal

I have been on 50mg of Zoloft since I was in JR high. Now I am switching doctors, and he says my diagnosis (I was diagnosed as bi polar) doesn't match up with the medication. So until I go to see him in October, I have no medication whatsoever. I am now 19 and I am having the weirdest withdrawals. Aside from insomnia, stomach pain, irritability, anxiety, and muscle tensions, I also have this urge to scratch. My skin and scalp is always itching (I've experienced that before whenever it would take a few days to get the meds refilled), I always have heartburn the nightmares I have the little bit I do sleep are so bad that I wake up in tears, and my muscles are cramping up more and I have random fits of crying for no reason whatsoever (I guess I just feel that sad every hour or so), but either I'm seeing things, or a shadow moved on my wall earlier.... and there was no light for there to even create the shadow. I have been without my Zoloft for a week now and supposedly it should be out of my system. If it is, then what the hell is going on? This is getting very difficult to deal with and I have college that starts next week...

Dizziness Withdrawal From Zoloft / Sertraline

Im currently in the process of withdrawing from Zoloft / Sertraline and finding it a lot harder than I thought it would be.

I was on 50mg a day for 6 months approx, then I moved down to 50mg every other day and then finally down to 50mg every 2 days.
I took my last pill 9 days ago. The first 5 days were absolutely fine but then on the 6th day the extreme dizzy spells and brain zaps started to occur, 4 days later they are no better.

Has anyone else been through a similar experience to me? was i foolish in thinking that tapering off would result in zero side effects? how long are they likely to last and is there anything I can do to take the edge of the side effects ?

Sertraline :: Zoloft Withdrawal - Get Waves Of Anxiety

I was on 50mg for 5 years and I gain 20 pounds.  I finally decide to stop taking sertraline and I beg my doctor to let me do it. She finally agree and I went from 50mg to 25mg for 2 weeks and 12 mg for 2 weeks and then I was off. I was fine until today 2 MONTHS later. I get waves of anxiety and then it goes away, I  sweat cold and then goes away, my arms tingling and then it goes away.  I am not sure if I should have to go back to Zoloft ?

Depression :: Zoloft Withdrawal Makes People Really Mean?

My girlfriend has been on Zoloft 2 years, before we met.. We have been dating 8 months everything was nice, and normal. She was sweet, caring, and understanding of everything. Then she ran about about a month, and a half ago. For the last month she has blew up at every small thing there is. She is very hard to talk to, its like she see's it as a huge problem if I ask a question, and that'll just make her just blow up even more, or be snappy. I mean she is hurting me, and if I mention that. I'll get well why do you wanna be with me then if I'm hurting you?? It's like she no longer cares about us at all. Things that didn't even used to matter is a issue now. If I ask a question, I get blown up at, and told I'm trying everything in the world to please everyone. Baby cry's for one sec, she gets mad.. Everything in the world is basically a issue now. She snaps at basically everything now. She really isn't the same person since she quit taking them, I've never seen her act like this in my life. If our relationship was at stake usually shed all be trying to fix it, or apologize, or even cry now she's more of an angry mean person that don't really care, That says I dunno anything anymore... Then she'll say she does care the next day, and loves me and she never letting go etc, and sometimes cry, and say she was just frustrated, and then act like nothing never happened. Then the next day be distant as can be, and really quick to talk, or text, and be snappy. Then another day the most loving caring person again? I don't get it at all? Can Zoloft withdrawal really cause all this?  She blames being off the meds as a big part in the way she is acting. She told me to make her an appointment with a doctor she don't have the time she works etc (which she just recently started, which is also causing stress to her)... I'm not sure if I can do that for her I told her. But I'd try to get her a doctor. Seems she even got mad about that..

Depression :: Zoloft Withdrawal - Irregular Menstruation And PMS

I was prescribed Zoloft 50mg, later increased to 100mg because nothing seemed to change at the lower dose. It has been more than two weeks since I have been taking Zoloft. I assume my last period lasted only 2 days because of this medicine. I went cold turkey on Zoloft for two weeks and this time my PMS symptoms were worse. I am taking Xanax on and off (1 mg), this time my period came on time but the flow has decreased. Does anyone else face the same changes, I don't want my cycle to be disturbed? Shall I mention these observations to my doc?

Sertraline :: Bad Zoloft Withdrawal - Cold Turkey

I was taking 250 mg of Zoloft a day for about 5 months and decided to stop taking it cold turkey. After a couple days I started feeling the withdrawal start. I have the brain zaps, dizziness, loss of coordination, shaking and shivering, irritability and most recently some hallucinating. It has been 10 days now, I thought it would have eased by now, but it hasn't. I have tried taking Benadryl and Dramamine, but they haven't relieved anything. Is there anything anyone knows of that would work? This is awful, I almost want to go back on the meds just to stop this, but I know I'll only have to go through this again eventually so better to do it now.

Anxiety :: Zoloft To Prozac To Zoloft

A little history: i've had Anxiety just about all my memorable life, i knew something wasn't quite right upstairs when i felt my heart racing, i felt panic like i've just drank a crate of red bull, That even when cold i sweat buckets. i have always been an obsessive googler, have always tried exercise, performance enhancements, alcohol, herbs and a whole other bunch of magical potions to make me feel (NORMAL) and so my brain didn't freeze in social situations. when i know im clever but i come out silly because i acted like a lunatic to compensate or to show i wasn't shy or could be taken advantage of. Certainly making me troublesome and not a nice person to be around.

so about 4 months ago i realised what it was that's up. I was reading all about anxiety and discovered i have just about every variety of it. strangely enough this made me happy because now i knew...... im not stupid or a rare breed and can possibly be treated or handled better.

Medication:    I first went to my GP and explained how i was feeling  (keeping it short) he agreed and proscribed me 50 MG sertraline per day.I took this for a month and felt no better the odd day i had a flash of anxiety free.so heading in the right direction. i was told to up the dosage to 100 mg and i continued at this dosage for a month. still not better i went to the GP and asked for another increase as im 6'4" and 19 stone maybe i needed a little more than average. i was told no if its not working at 2 months we will try this.... i was prescribed Fluoxetine (prozac) 20 mg per day and i took this for 2months not really feeling any effect whats so ever, still sweating nervous panic stricken cold clammy, over thinking things.......

so i went back the other day and seen another GP a british one this time ( every time i visited the GP it was a different one, not the best way to cope with things, lesson learned always ask for same GP. so this time he said ok lets have you back on sertraline ( zoloft) and i will prescribe you up to 200MG per day.  he just said get there as quick as you safely can........ what about 125 or 150? what happens if this is the correct dosage and i skip it out and go for 200? how do i even get to 200? do i do 100 for month ? then 150 for a a month ? just so so confused now as to what i do. so please if anyone has been in this situation or not. what do you think? should i try 150? should i do it over a month, over a week?

Lower Back :: Electric Current Sensation Triggered By Some Kind Of Movement

Randomly during the day, triggered by some kind of movement I will get a sort of electric current sensation always starting in my lower back and spreading to my arms and legs. Never above the neck. Sometimes only the left side of my body, sometimes only the right side.  I could also describe it as the feeling you get when you cut circulation off your arm from sleeping on it wrong, and when you wake up and move it so that the blood flows freely again, that kind of numb tingling you get.  It kinda feels like that throughout my whole body. It usually last about 30 seconds and can happen several times a day.  Anybody with any ideas? this has been going on for years, and has become more frequent.

Dental Health :: Electric Shocks Like Pain Caused From Irritated Tooth Nerve

This started at the age of 19, now 25

My title basically describes my pain for the last five years. I've recently found out in August that my pain could be coming from my teeth. The reason why I found out so late is because doctors have been diagnosing me wrong, when ever I would tell them my symptoms and my college doctor diagnosed me with anxiety and when my psychiatrist gave me Dexedrine, the pain went away, which led me to believe it was anxiety. I took the anxiety meds this whole time and I feel so stupid sometimes that I believed it was anxiety because anxiety doesn't give you the pain I get on the daily basis.

I've gotten a lot of work done in these past two months to receive relief from this excruciating pain. I had three infections, two on the top and one on the lower left side. I was highly against the root canals, I did not want to risk the pain coming back and root canals ....

I May Have A Brain Aneurysm

I am 18 years old and it pretty good health. I do have an anxiety disorder and OCD.I am on medication for this. I would like some opinions please. No rude comments please.

I have this fear that I may have a brain aneurysm. I don't have any specific reason that I think this but the fear is starting to take over my life. I cant even focus at work because I worry so much. I just recently moved into a new apartment and i have been under a lot of stress. I was sick about a week ago with a common cold, runny nose, headache, watery eyes, sneezing. After i was getting pain in my head and my eyes from my cold I started worrying about my brain again, I had a headache today but ibuprofen took it away very quickly. I don't have vision problems or dizziness. I stay awake most nights googling signs and symptoms and then I convince myself that I may have it. I can barely sleep because I am so scared that I won't wake up. This is really starting to take over my life. What should I do? & Do you think I have an aneurysm?

I Have A Brain Aneurysm

I found out on Tuesday that I have a 7mm focal aneurysm of the distal right internal carotid artery, mild mass effect on my right optic nerve, displacing it medially.

My surgeon wants to do a procedure where a platinum coil is inserted through the groin.  He says he won't know if I will need a stint until he is in the operating room.  I had an voluntary MRA.  My mother died from a rupture in 1979.  I am 58 years old.

Do platinum coils react with electromagnetic fields and cause migraine headaches?
