Enlarged Uterus - Partial Hysterectomy? IUD? Hormonal Therapy?

Oct 2, 2013

My wife was just told that her uterus is enlarged to a 12? I don't know what that means but I know it isn't good, her doctor suggested inserting an IUD to see if the size would go down, now she don't wanna that because it hurts when her uterus is touched, she's thinking partial hysterectomy and Im thinking that's not a good solution, why not try the IUD? There are a lot of things that complication wise that come with surgery, I'm guessing. What about hormones and other important things your uterus does it has to have more of a function than reproduction? What about sex, and Drive and mood and emotions it would probably cause a major chemical imbalance in a woman's life? She is looking for a second opinion on this IUD procedure like she rather not even give it a try need some advice or possible answers to share with her. Her health and well being are my biggest concern and for some reason I don't think surgery or removing major organs is good for her health or well being.

Endometriosis :: Partial Hysterectomy - All Symptoms Are Back

I had a hysterectomy done in February of 2013,  I had a partial, just my uterus and cervix removed so all that is left are my ovaries. Within the past month all of the same symptoms are back that I had before surgery. Severe pelvic pain, bloating, back pain, not sleeping, hurts to urinate and so on. I'm 27 years old and no kids and I felt it was my only option because I had so many laps done and there was nothing more to do other than the hysterectomy. So if there are some women out there that has had a full hysterectomy could you please tell me if its worth asking doctor to remove ovaries.  Could really use some advice now or just to know there's more women out there around my age going through the same thing.  Thanks for taking the time to read.

Pregnancy :: Enlarged Uterus Is Measuring 24cm Instead Of 18 - 22 Cm

FTM. Lost two angels before. Went for my checkup and my uterus is measuring 24cm instead of 18 - 22 cm.

My doctor didn't say anything about it and just continued on with the checkup after telling me my uterus measured 24cm. I came home and Google why this would be. And a bunch of negative things came up with only a few hopes.

So now I'm a little worried and looking for some peace of mind before the ultrasound on Friday. Friday just seems so far away now.

Has anyone else measured bigger than they should've and had everything be fine? Or what happened?

I know my due date isn't off as I know the date we conceived and I've had my dating ultrasound and everything matches up.

Total Vaginal Hysterectomy For Uterus Prolapse

I just saw a Urogynecologist yesterday who says I need a total vaginal hysterectomy. Of course, I am scared! They did Urodynamics study and my bladder is OK. I originally thought when I went in that my bladder was falling. That's what my GYN at home told me. Not true according to this St. Louis doc. His name is Dr. Veronikis at Mercy hospital. Would love to hear from anyone who has info on him. I haven't scheduled the surgery yet. Still thinking, praying, researching, etc. until I decide. My prob is that my uterus is falling down and pushing out my vagina. Quite an ugly sight!! lol He will do a TVH and repair the vagina. Let me hear from anyone who has stories to tell or similar experiences.

Knee :: Physical Therapy After Partial Knee Replacement

I am 42 yrs old and had a Partial Knee Replacement done on Jan 6th...outpatient...went to first PT the next morning. Wasn't too bad...2nd was a little rougher and I was in more pain. 3rd visit had a different therapist and she pushed me beyond what I thought I was ready for. She basically forced bended my knee and forced straighten it..said it's to keep scar tissues from interfering with recovery...this was extremely painful. I am curious to if this is normal protocol on your 3rd visit of PT..which was 7 days post op...I was in soo much pain I could not go to my next PT. Plus I have bruising on my ankle from her force bending with her body weight...I figured I would go back on Monday when my normal Therapist will be there....I have made progress with bending and straightening and don't think I should be rushed like that...I am still in alot of pain but am able to walk around house without crutches. I have been icing and elevating along with doing my homework PT.

Hormonal Acne In Adult Women And Its Cures?

I’m a 35 year old Indian woman, and suffer from acne that keeps coming back.

Here’s my history. I had mild to moderate acne in my teens, but into my twenties it got worse. I went to dermatologists who put me on antibiotics and creams and it turned into a vicious cycle. I got frustrated and tried Isotretinoin. I knew the rules, got my checks didn’t get pregers, and it was fine it worked. LOW dose isotretinoin. But not even a year later it was back – it was hit and try method for years later, sometimes my skin was tolerable and sometimes bad. I got married, it was a bad marriage. The added stress and sudden unexplained weight gain did not help. I tried diane – that resulted in no improvement but more weight gain. Isotretinoin take two – it worked again – I followed the rules and no side effects. The marriage broke eventually. The stress didn’t help and the weight was high. Isotretinoin take 3 – low low dose worked magically. No side effects I felt great. The weight also just dropped without that stress in the marriage.

Now its (the acne) back again – and here’s my story. I’m attractive, I want to find love and be a mother. As the years went I didn’t focus on my body clock. Now I do not want take isotretinoin just for clear skin I don’t want to lose my chance on becoming a mother one day….because I’m on a vanity project!!!!. At the same time the acne needs to go. So here’s what I plan to do. Do the candida cleanse for three days. Apples and enema really ……I have eaten badly recently so I’m willing to give my all. I tried googling reviews etc and my head just got boggled but one thing that did pop out was that what I do get is hormonal acne. I have severe PMS and my acne almost always has been on the chin and jawline. I need serious reviews on estroblock – bottom line I cant google acne cures its mind boggling – I want to take this out from the root.

Chin / Jawline / Neck :: Over 30 Hormonal Acne

I am 31 and have been having ugly breakouts around my neck, chin and now jawline for the past 2.5 years. They appear to start with a blocked blackhead then erupt into a throbbing cystic lump. Sometimes they're squeezable and I always squeeze. I also lead quite a stressful life, moving a lot and not having any real stability. But I try to be positive, this just makes me feel self-conscious... I always had minor acne in the normal places. I even get a few on my back, they're located on my outer shoulders and shoulder blades these days, rather than the center of my back where they used to be. It's strange getting acne in new places.

The chin/jaw/neck ones have got worse and worse recently and I wonder whether they're to do with hormonal reasons and whether I should try progesterone cream for my face and neck, I know to alternate areas with the dosage. Is it worth trying? I also wondering if I'm washing my face enough? I usually do a bit of exercise each day and will wear a bit of makeup but generally wash my face twice daily, although sometimes I pass-out with my makeup on! Healthy otherwise. Oh, I do consume an awful lot of (non-dairy) chocolate though...

No Hormonal Imbalance But Weight Gain After Tubal Ligation

2 years ago I had a tubal ligation and since I have gained a lot of weight (especially the last year). Before the tubal ligation I was thin and no matter how much I ate, I couldn't gain a pound.

I have been to many doctors and I have checked my hormones (estrogen, progesterone, LH, FSH) as well as my thyroid MANY TIMES during the last 2 years.

My hormones and my thyroid are fine, and there is nothing wrong.

I have read about tubal ligation syndrome, but all these side effects after tubal happens BECAUSE OF A HORMONAL IMBALANCE  and I don't have any.,

Why am I gaining so much weight?

What about you that gained weight after tubal? Do you have hormonal imbalance or do the blood tests come back normal as mine do?

Partial Knee Replacement - Yes Or No ?

I am having a partial knee replacement in the next few months but have read quite a lot of articles mostly negative and I am now wondering if I should go ahead with it or just put up!

Im 57 I like to walk each day I wear sensible shoes and have soles in them from the podiatrist to keep my leg aligned. Will I still be able to walk each day once fully recovered and if so how far will distance be restricted?

i have also read that your sleep is very disturbed after this kind of operation is this correct and if so is this forever or just during recovery.

Also very occasionally I wear a heal about 2.5 inches if I go to a function or have a meal out I only have them On for about 4 hours so would this still be possible after a partial knee replacement?

Finally am I right in thinking that have a partial knee replacement leads to a full replacement within a couple of years?

Partial Knee Replacement - Should I Do It?

My knee joints are worn out on the medial side (inside) and I get pain and stiffness but I can still ride my bike for hours and walk the dog for half an hour and I don't limp since I started the APOS therapy and had steroid injections. But I want to be able to walk longer distances, jog, ski and be nimble like I was 10 years ago. The surgeon will do a half knee replacement on both legs, but am I taking too much of a risk?

Penis :: Half / Partial Circumcision?

My penis seems to be circumcised (no foreskin cover the glands) but there's a strip of about 1/4 inch that’s still connected on the top which makes for these two very small pockets (one on either side) where small amount of smegma build up.

Adult Circumcision - Partial Cuts?

I'm 22 (going on 23 in August) and I'm going in for my circumcision due to phimosis in exactly a week. After doing a ton of research and viewing the pros and cons of circumcised vs uncircumcised, I've decided to go with a partial cut if I end up going through with it since it's said to be the best of both worlds.

I spoke with my doctor and I told him that I wanted a partial cut, but it seemed like he didn't know what it was exactly, so I described it to him. I said that I only want enough foreskin taken off so I won't have phimosis and I want my frenulum untouched because to my understanding it is the most sensitive part of the penis. He then told me that he can do that and leave the frenulum; but they'd have to cut through my frenulum if I want any foreskin taken off and they'd stitch it back together. Or if I didn't want that, they can cut my foreskin open a bit so I can pull the skin back.

So I have a couple of questions.

1. For partial cuts, do they usually cut the frenulum and stitch it back together? and will I lose sensitivity if it's cut and stitched back together?

2. Has anyone heard urologists cutting the foreskin cut open just enough to pull the skin back? you're technically still uncircumcised and I don't know how it looks.

Possible Miscarriage With Partial Tubal Ligation?

Possible miscarriage with partial tubal ligation.

The tubal was done six and a half years ago and I have not had a pregnancy since. I was getting my period and suddenly was in excruciating pain and very quickly covered in a extremely large amount of blood. It has slowed to where I only need to change my sanitary napkin every 2 hours but this is still a very large amount of blood and I am unsure if I could have miscarried.
