My 1.5L 2000 Hyundai accent is reading p0342 code.(cmp sensor circuit low Input). I have changed out the sensor from a parts car and it's still reading this code. I've read it could be timing or an issue with the starter wiring.
View 3 RepliesSo my little car.....driving home from jersey (about an hour and a half) and within the last 2 miles I notice the car just shut off. Not any electronics just the motor. Pulled over and tried to start it an it just cranks prolly no fuel or spark. happened to have my obdII scanner with me. It says camshaft position sensor(po342). Only code in there. Sounds simple enough. Got a new one and put it in. Just cranks. Plugs and wires were done about 3 months ago and I drive about 40 miles a day 5 days a week. I did the timing belt last spring so I opened that back up to make sure the timing hadn't jumped for some stupid reason. It's perfect. Noticed now after doing all of that there is some (a little) oil in the throttle body. I know about blow by and don't think I should have that much at 113k but who knows.
View 2 RepliesMy daughter spun her timing belt on her 1.5L accent. when she did, she bent the valve rods and all were replaced. The original code that was thrown was the one in the title. Ordered a new camshaft positioning sensor for the car. Looks a little different than factory. He installed it, and car is still pulling code. He accidentally threw away the original before confirmed that the problem was solved. Why the code is still pulling?? I can tell you this, I can clear the code, start the car and drive without code coming back on. As soon as I shut the vehicle off and restart, engine light comes on. Car runs fine. Had a complete valve job, new timing belt and water pump installed.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2007 ES350 with 90k miles. Purchased in August. I had ignition coil go out and decided to change them all and the spark plugs. When changing cylinder 5's coil and plug, I tried to push the wiring harness out of the way to remove the coil. Result, I moved the wiring harness too far and disconnected the 3 wires (black, yellow and red) that were connected to the cam position sensor connector. (I should've just removed the sensor SMH) I disassembled the connector, got it down the internal pins, soldered the pins to the wires, placed the pins back in the connector and reassembled it with the wires in the order that they appeared to originally be.
Plugged it back in and put everything back in place. Started the car and code P0352 was cleared but replaced with code P0365 Camshaft Position Sensor B - Bank 1 Circuit Malfunction. I'm thinking, either I put that pins back in the wrong order or one of the wires isn't properly soldered in. Either way, I ordered another connector and it should be here tomorrow. I need Either a wiring diagram or a picture of the camshaft position sensor closest to cylinder 5 connected with the wires in the proper order .
02 Santa Fe 2.4L/ automatic/2 WD. I replaced the fuel filter (only) and have had a nightmare ever since. It takes multiple tries to start, running a little longer each time. When it will finally stay running, only the most delicate of throttle feathering will allow any RPM's to be built up. Any attempt to do otherwise will result is sputtering, bucking and other unhealthy behaviors until the throttle is closed. It also gives off the smell of running rich.
I borrowed a scan tool and got P0136 and P0141, which I expect since the O2 sensor wiring was cut in two by the heat shield shortly after my daughter bout the vehicle. It also is giving me the P0340 Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit code. I had replaced the CMPS and its connector a couple of month ago. I replaced the sensor again to no avail. I have checked the Orange/Black wire from the connector to the ECM and it reads 0 ohms. I get battery voltage at the connector on the Blue supply wire but only get 1.86 to 2.0V when I check the signal with the engine running.
The MIL light came on and I noticed the shifting P-D or P-R was hard. Checked the Transmission Fluid and noticed it was low. Topped it up, but still MIL is on and shifting hard still. I bought a OBD2 Scanner and it returns P0707 "Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Low Input". Should I try clearing the DTC? It's a drag because it's my wife's car and she's driving mine.
View 1 RepliesAbout 3 weeks ago, I purchased a 2001 Accent GL 4dr 5spd from a friend of mine. A few days later, the CEL came on. I went to O'Reilly and got the code pulled, it was for a cam sensor input LOW. I replaced the sensor and was on my way.
Yesterday after starting the car for the first time for a few days (I wasn't driving because it needed a clutch), the light came on. Has it gone bad again or is something causing the signal to be low? Maybe a low output on the alternator or low battery? The interior lights dim slightly when the brake pedal is applied while the car is running.
I have a problem with my sonata NF 2006 the check engine light turn on like 2 days ago and give me the p2128 code say Accelerator pedal Position Circuit - High Input something like that i cheek all the cable off the throttle body to the ecu and i don't see any cable broken how I can check the accelerator pedal sensor? I see in one page a texting the sensor whit a multi miter but was for santa fe and the cable don't have the same colors . I need the accelerator pedal cable diagram and i don't have it ....
View 2 RepliesMy check engine light is on. I got the code pulled at Advance Auto Parts. It is P0107 - MAP Sensor Circuit Low Input. I wanted to test the MAP sensor to see if it is bad. I couldn't find anything online that was Santa Fe or even Hyundai specific as far as testing procedures go. I know you can test the power wire, the ground wire, and the signal wire, from what I could tell from other places I've looked. I got 5ish volts from the power wire and 12ish volts on the ground wire, which is what I understand they should be. I don't have a vacuum pump at the moment, but testing the signal wire with no vacuum I got about 0.02 volts. From what I've read online, it should be around 5 volts, but I wasn't sure if all MAP sensors work the same way. Whether I'm doing this correctly and whether they think the sensor is bad?
View 5 RepliesI am having a problem repairing my 1997 aerostar with a 3.0 engine. Code PO340 comes up. Ive replaced the cam sensor, cam sensor housing and the pcm. Using the diagnostic charts, I've thoroughly checked out the wiring, in the harness, at the sensor, and at the pcm. I've set the cam sensor housing at TDC with the appropriate timing tool. Code P0340 still comes up. I've seen a couple of other aerostars with the same problem. Ford TSBs .....
View 14 RepliesNeed solving a P0172 code I had. I just pulled out the MAF sensor and cleaned it with a MAF Sensor Cleaner (at most auto parts stores). Worked like a charm and the code went away and the gas smell is gone too.
Now I have a new code - P0712. I have been extensively searching the web and cannot find any good information on how to resolve this issue - "P0712 Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor Circuit Low Input" ...
I checked the fluid level and it is fine.
I have a 2005 Camry, 2.2 liter, 4 cylinders...
Wasn't there a TSB for this? I've searched Google and Vortex with nothing for the MKVI but I could swear I read something on this.
I am accumulating oil/grim right around the sensor and it's beginning to irritate me. I want to take her to the dealer but would rather know for sure of any possible TSB out there so I have something to reference.
Check engine light is on, this is the code that came up when checked at OReillys, "P0113 Intake Air temperature sensor 1 Circuit high input". Earlier took it to repair shop, he did not give the code, some sensor needs to be changed (don't know if he came up with same code). He had erased the code but it came back on within minutes. Wanted to check if there is any cheaper way to fix this. This is a windstar van.

From my searches, readings and looking at the parts diagram. On the newer 5 speeds the sensor is the one on the inside of the tranny. This requires taking the entire tranny apart? Is there an external connector for the sensor that I can check or clean first? Replace this sensor. I know the older ones were mounted on top of the tranny. I think this one is mounted on the inside though.
I was reading the car's settings using the Torque app and an OBDII bluetooth dongle and I realize that at WOT the ECU is only seeing 85% from the TPS. O know on some vehicles there is an actual procedure like turn the key forward, hold the gas pedal at WOT, turn the key all the way forward w/o starting while pulling the turn signal stalk down or something crazy like that to force the ECU to re-measure while you keep the gas pedal pinned to the floor. I know on other cars when it doesn't read a full 100% you miss out on a small amount of power and MPG so if it's an easy procedure with these cars I'd like to reset it. I did some searching but mostly came up with info on how to replace it and a few related subjects but noting on this specifically for this car specifically.
View 2 RepliesI cleaned my k&n air filter on my 02 passat 1.8 turbo let it dry oiled it very lightly, and 50 miles later I get a check engine light on, pulled the code 16486 and it says Mass or Volume Air Flow Circ Low Input. Cleared the code put a frame in until I can get it filter. Why that would throw me that code, k&n oil gumming up my sensor??
View 2 RepliesThe CEL just came on in my 20th AE Gti. The code indicates a Camshaft Position Sensor issue. Don't know where this sensor lives under the hood of the GTI? Is an easy enough fix for a beginner to attempt? (have hand tools, former bike mechanic, but no shop just a parking lot in the Texas sun!)
View 6 RepliesI am new to Hyundai. I just picked up a 2003 Elantra and I'm doing a couple fixes to it. When I got it, the engine light was on and the code displayed said it had a bad camshaft position sensor. Is this a common issue with the car and is it an easy fix?
Also, I just installed new brake pads and a new battery. Now the battery and brake lights are on, although I know I didn't break anything. Could installing a new battery cause the two lights to come on?
I have been getting a P0011 error code. Changed the OCV but the code continues. I'm going to try replacing the CMPS but am not quite sure of the location on the 2007 Sonata GLS. Looking for any pics of the location or a description?

View 2 RepliesMy check engine light came on about a week ago and was unsure what the problem was. So I tested the codes and it said that the camshaft position sensor was bad. So I have tried finding this sensor but little to no luck. I was unsure if it was the 2 or 3 pin, but after looking at some pictures of the engine I'm thinking it is a 2 pin. I attached two pictures of what I think might be the sensor? But I am unsure. This was right next to the timing belt cover, which is where it said it was located. I have a 1996 Ford Ranger, 2.3L.
