OK all sensors and evac valve done. No codes being pulled. No check engine light. Car starts no problem in the morning or when its been sitting but when the car has been driven to temp. I will not restart and just keeps cranking, if it starts to start it shudders and dies. I am the original owner and its had any maintenance its needed.

There's a TSB about a rattle on a cold start, but mine never rattles when it's cold. This always happens on a warm restart -- usually about 45 to 75 minutes after I've parked it.
It's been doing this for at least a year, but I've had trouble catching it in the act and, of course, the dealer can't reproduce it. I currently have 37k miles on it. Oil changes completed at 1k, 5k and every 5k after. Using Mobil 1 5W-20 since the second change.
My 6.0 stalls when its warm and it restarts no problem. no codes are given with scan gauge. No changes on icp or ipr when it happens. At idle icp ranges 577 to 737, fmp 47.5 to 48v, ipr 23 to 28, map 14.9, tfc .32. all at idle. all increase when rpm goes up. ive done the d plugs, sct plug ficm replaced 2 yrs ago. done egr delete, need to trouble shoot? Again no codes given...
View 14 RepliesI noticed that my car rattles (the engine) when is warm, if the engine is cold by the morning nothing happens, is just after the engine is warm (working condition) some people say gas quality but I use Premium and always the same station, the rattle is after switch gears, just for one or two seconds (sounds like click! click! click!)
Could be that the cylinder head is blown? Oil "Quaker State High Millage" was change 3000 kilometers ago, sparks plugs brand new NGK Iridium IX at the same time...

2008 Accent. Timing belt broke. Took the head off and had valves replaced (2) and head work done. Had everything put back together. Car runs. Except it makes a slight ticking sound when warm. When it's cold it ticks a lot.
View 5 RepliesAfter changing the timing belt and water pump I want to change the coolant. Stupid to have no temp gauge so I got a scan tool connected. Been idling 20 minutes and it hasn't gone above 189 degrees. Assume it has a 195 degree thermostat. I put fresh water in the radiator but still don't see it mixing with coolant in the block as if the thermostat has opened.

Last time they said it was a very vague miss fire code.... It did shake a bit... On the plus I get to drive a nice new Elantra again.... On the down, I never want my car back after driving it ...
View 2 Replies1990 Celica 2.2 liter, 5SFE manual trans car with 239k miles.The car occasionally stalls after it is warm and won't restart. When is is cold she fires right up as it does most of the time when she is warm. To restart he sprays starter fluid in the intake or waits until it cools down. Also as the car gets warm the idle decreases to around 650. Adjusted idle speed to 750 but no effect. The only code is 1-2, low or no RPM, measured the RPM sensor air gap and within spec, measured the sensor resistance and within spec. sensor wiring and connector looked good, measured the temp sensor and within spec, disconnected the EGR vacuum line and no effect. Problem occurs once or twice a week but at the most embarrassing place.

When I turn the key it fires up, but when I release the starter it dies, like I've shut the car off. Giving it throttle makes no difference. I have to do this several times, and then it keeps running. Never does it cold. No codes.
View 4 Replies2004 pontiac grand am, after driving and shutting off the car, it will not restart or stalls out while waiting at traffic lights. When I try to restart the car, all I get is clicking sounds, only does this on warm or hot humid days. The dealer told me to just hold down the gas pedal and crank the engine till it restarts. I have tried the turning on the key for a minute, wait, then turn the key back off, and then to restart, but that doesn't work either. If I wait for a good ten minutes, the car usually starts. When I turn on the key I do hear the fuel pump kick in. I have replaced the fuel regulator, ignition switch, keys, computer chip in the ignition system, battery, and starter- twice. I have heard that it could be a crankshaft sensor? No codes are showing up when this happens.

For over the last year I have had a problem where if you start the car and then shut it off before it fully warms up it will be very hard to restart and barely run till you get it out and run it on the highway for awhile. First noticed this when starting car to back out of driveway to get into attic. Went to restart to put back in garage and car would hardly start. Had to dealer a couple of times and they said you should warm car up before using. That sounds good but is not practical and car never had this problem when new.

When the car runs it runs very well...to get the car started, just wait, sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes longer than an hour. All the time periodically cranking the engine...just does not start. But when it does start, it runs very well.
This problems occurs only after the car has started and is warm. Let it sit for a while then restarting the problem occurs.
2003 with hot no start issues. It starts fine in the morning however will not start again after the engine gets warm, after an hour or so of cooling off it will eventually go. Not sure if I should start with.... Readings below ....

I have s 2007 f250 superduty with a 6.0. Recently after the engine gets warm I have a problem restarting it. I have to turn the key to the run position until all sounds have stopped then I have to pump the accelerator to get it to start. Sometimes I have to repeat this three or four times before it starts. I have had the fuel pump rebuild and installed two new batteries. What I should be looking at.
View 14 RepliesI have a 2009 accent.. fuel pump went so I just replaced it...it pumps fuel but not getting any fuel to the cylinders...had a plug out to test the spark and it has good spark but plugs were dry and very faint fuel smell...also changed the crankshaft position sensor.. what could cause a no fuel issue??car ran fine, shut it off and no start..checked the fuel pump and it wasn't working though it had power to it...why the injectors wouldn't be working??
View 12 RepliesMy hyundai accent has been giving me fits for about 6 months but I didnt think it was a major issue, apparently I am wrong. When it first started the check engine light would come on randomly and go off after a few minutes or even a day. Then it started staying on longer and when it would go off my car would stall. Then when it got cold twice I went out to warm my car before I left and when I came back out to leave it was dead, had to be jump started and while driving the first couple of miles it would die, it always cranked fine but it at lights or stop signs would die. Now it has stopped all together, it turns but wont start. I have a spark and we have tried the cam sensor and crankshaft. The fuel pump wouldn't go out while I was driving would it? or what could it be we are kind of at a loss.
View 11 Replies2009 Accent GL Sport manual transmission. Battery keeps dying. 2 batteries over the last 9 months. This is on my son's car. Replaced battery and a few months later it's dead again. Had the system checked no drains on the battery, alternator work great. No fathom drains in the system. The car can set for a week before being driven. The only thing we can think of, because it's not driven every day, the little battery drains out by the systems in the car(clock, etc.). we think there's a .8 amp drain or less.

View 10 RepliesAfter getting to about 1/4 tank, I fuel up and fill the tank but when I try to start the car, it cranks for a while and then finally starts. It will idle really low so I have to rev it until the engine starts getting gas at a steady pace.
View 9 RepliesMy speedometer no longer works. A mechanic had the dash out but said I would need a new instrument cluster. However, as I told him, it started failing whenever it rained. Once the car dried out, the speedometer would work again. For awhile anyway but now it's not working at all. I'm thinking there's a sending unit maybe on the transmission that's faulty?
