Over the past few days, my (factory) car alarm has started going off in the middle of the night, with no one/nothing near it to cause it to go off. The car battery is less than 9 months old, the doors, windows, hood and trunk are all always closed. Why it is happening?

View 1 RepliesRecently I took my car in for an oil change, & after that when I lock my car it doesn't always make the beep noise to let me know the alarm system is armed.
A little while after that, my alarm started to go off randomly. This happens at random times, all my doors are closed and we even took the car in to get checked(they checked the wires or something I believe because they thought it had to do with my aftermarket remote start)
I've read somewhere about people saying it could have to do with my hood switches? But truth be told I'm not very good with cars.
So my factory car alarm has started going off by itself ; had to unhook horn wiring.
Bad hood switch issues are talked about ; seemed a little flaky when checked with meter so I changed it out, only $15. Hood pad already was made higher as a first try at fixing problem.
Still having alarm tripping sometimes. I read somewhere about the door lock actuators having a contact that tells alarm system when they are locked.
So I may have a faulty power lock assembly on one of the four doors. I have tried to open them when locked but they don't open. How to I tell which lock switch is bad , they are all pricy but the drivers rear is cheaper.
We moved to a new home two months ago.My 2009 elantra alarm randomly goes off only between 9:30pm and 8:30 am and only when in my garage or driveway. Dealer "adjusted hood sensor" and it still activates. Seems the issue must be in my garage as didn't happen prior to moving and happens no where else. I disconnected the garage remote wireless sensor tonight to see if that could be culprit.
View 8 RepliesMy car is accent 1.4 A/T 2012, and lately I've been hearing this metallic knocking sounds underneath my car. it happens every time after i drove my car for a longer distance and even on a shorter distance with no minimum running speed, you can hear the metallic knocking sounds whether the engine is on or off. Sometimes it is too loud you don't have to go out from the car you just have to roll the window down to hear it.
I've brought this already to my dealer and told me it was normal but I don't want to accept their answer so i refer it to another hyundai dealer. the second dealer made an adjustments on the muffler and catalytic something and even upgraded the CEU but to no avail and even adjusted my steering preload. BUT I'm still hearing it!! What to do.
So I've been living in FL and the other day there was a hurricane and the roads flooded. I think I got some water in my engine or somewhere because now my CEL is coming on then flashing and the car sounds like it's underwater! I haven't been able to drive it anywhere to get the code checked, I don't want to drive it because it seems like it's in rough shape. I checked all the plugs and cleaned them, but the 1st one was wet so I think there may have been water in there. After I cleaned the plugs I reset the ECU and the CEL was gone and I drove it 2 miles w/o issue. Then I went to the automotive store to get some oil/filter, etc to change the oil. I get back to my car and as soon as I turn it on again the CEL comes on and then starts flashing after a few mins of me revving it. I noticed that there is water coming out of the exhaust, like a lot more than normal, so what is happening. I did the oil change with no problems but when I started it again the CEL came on and started flashing. 2007 Accent SE
View 3 RepliesGot a weird issue with my Hyundai Accent 2007 SE. Used my key fob to open the driver's door, no problem. Tried to start the car and the horn went beep-beep-beep in synch with the motor trying to start and then on the second attempt to start it, the engine would not turn over at all, nothing--just dead. A little while later my wife said she heard the car randomly going off, no pattern just beeping. She said she hit a couple of buttons on her fob and it stopped. I let the car sit for about an hour and then went out, unlocked the car driver's door with the key (not the fob), tried to start the car and there was no issue...it turned right over. What is going on?
View 2 RepliesMy manual transmission has been making some funky ringing type sounds when cold. Pretty sure it's the trans since pressing the clutch in stops it. It always happens around 2k and is worst when engine breaking. When I just start the car there is a very very faint ringing that goes away as soon as I press the clutch even a tiny bit.
The car has about 45k miles and the clutch itself feels strong and shifting is absolutely fine, I changed the oil to Redline the past summer. Maybe throw out bearing?
So I bought a used Accent last July (40k miles), and recently after I started to randomly lose my first gear about a month or so from driving it. Whenever I stop at a light the RPM will hover over one, but not go down. I thought at first it was some weird thing with the sensors as it only happened when I was low on gas, however now it does it every time I drive. I notice a lurch forward right before it does this.
View 1 RepliesOnly electrical mod that was done was the fog light mod so I can turn them on when I want... Is it possible that even if the fog lights are off, that they are pulling some juice from the battery ? In the last 6 months my car has died 4 times, ever since the fog light mod.

My car will randomly seem to stutter, almost like a very quick cut of power or skip, sometimes multiple times in a row. I feel like it may be the clutch slipping. It happens only at lower rpms (that I've noticed), and in any gear. When it skips, I don't see the tach jump at all and I have no cel. Are there any tests i can do? The car will move from a full stop to rolling just under the power of idle, I don't know if that means anything.
2008 manual gs 38000, with the ac turned on, upon accelerating, at different rpms, I get a quick loud squeak, and engine bogs down for a second. The engine has always hesitated upon acceleration with ac since i got it, meaning it'll get going and after 2 or three rpms, it'll bog for a quick second, ive asked dealer about it every time i take it in, and they always say its normal.
View 6 RepliesI have a kind of weird problem with my '08 Accent Hatch that just started up last week.
Sometimes when I leave the car (Keys out of ignition and open door) all the doors lock automatically. Same thing happens even if I leave the car running and step out for a minute. And once or twice, the doors locked while driving.
A friend of mine has a 2007 Accent with some scary MDPS issues. Basically it randomly freezes the steering wheel without a warning making it extremely hard to drive. He went to the dealership and since the car is without warranty they'll charge him 1200$ for repair. Is there any recall on these models for this MDPS?
View 7 RepliesI recently had 2 coils replaces and 4 spark plugs (CODES SHOWING ACCORDING TO GOODYEAR) replaced because the engine light was ON. Now My car intermittently shuts off without warning, but will restart about 1 or 2 minutes later showing CHECK GAS CAP on dashboard. Went back to Goodyear thinking maybe faulty parts. They ask if any lights are on like the check engine light, they tell me if not they don't know, come back if it continues. I thought maybe it's my battery.
The guys at Battery Bills connected a devise to the battery that shows green if it's charged, YELLOW if it needs to be driven more(or issue) RED(not enough power PROBLEM) and I when back to them yesterday and they rechecked...Battery is fully charged. They said the alternator is good also, I'm not too sure they checked.Later after work I fuel up a the Chevron instead of Costco thinking maybe the gas??? My car starts then dies, the battery signal device is showing red.
I get a jump, the second the cables are connected to my battery the device shows green, my car starts right up. Pull out to the traffic light, car shuts off, but restarts. I was told to drive my car at least 30 minutes away from home and back about once a week, to keep battery charged because I live less than 10 minutes away from wherever I drive to....so I DRIVE about 5 minutes in my car starts to stutter(hesitate) twice, but smooths out and I also notice the RPM gauge is showing 0???? NO ERROR LIGHTS or CHECK ENGINE ARE SHOWING ON THE DASHBOARD so I continue home at a lost. My car is a 2010 Accent with 57,100 miles....
I just bought a 2005 Prius in great condition. However, the alarm is making me crazy. It sounds whenever I unlock the car, whether by remote or keyless entry. I turned off the keyless entry function, but it still sounds when I press the unlock button on the remote. I have to press it again to get it to stop. It is very shocking, especially when using keyless entry. I walk up, stand for a moment to assure my key fob has communicated with the car, touch the door handle and it goes off! Then the car unlocks, I pull open the door and it stops. One day I was just walking by the car with my key in my purse and the alarm went off! I had to find the key in my purse and press the unlock button to turn it off. So strange!

View 7 RepliesI bought a 2007 Prius this week and I am having trouble with the door lock/unlock procedure. I have read and re-read the manual and feel I am doing everything correctly. What is happening is I can lock the car, either with the push button on the handle or with the key fob. When I return to unlock the car 2 things may happen. Either I get within 2 feet of the car and the alarm goes off or I can get close enough to touch the door handle and then the alarm goes off. Either way, I then have to use the fob to turn off the alarm noise and then I can unlock the car. All rather embarrassing and I'm getting tired of looking like an idiot! The worst part is when I was back at the used car dealer briefly yesterday and went to show him the problem, it behaved perfectly which was the only time it worked ever for me. I have tried both of my key fobs and the same thing happens with both of them.

View 6 RepliesMy Lexus SC430 parking sensor alarm sounds intermittently while I am driving. (No, I do not tailgate the car in front.)
It has happened several times, all but once when it was raining. On that one occasion, the sun was shining. It happened again today while it was raining, and continued to sound after the rain had stopped, but the road was still wet.
What could be causing this to happen, and how can it be prevented. I have decided to fit an ON-OFF switch, if the problem cannot be solved conventionally.
