I was just wondering if it's worth the hassle to change the interior light color on the cluster, etc from green in my 09 to the bluish white seen in the 2010 & up models as I much prefer that.
Also, I have tinted my tail lights but I have some creasing from the curved shape. I plan on removing it & starting again but I was just wondering if there were any tips or tricks to make it a bit easier?
So this morning I was going to my car and pushed the unlock button on my key FOB....nothing. Weird, thought maybe my FOB battery was dead. Opened the door with the key and noticed that my interior light did not come on. My battery is only a few months old, so i didnt think it could be that. Went to turn ignition...nothing, no crank no lights dimming..zero power at all. I opened up the hood and as i did so, i saw the lights on the interior come on. I tried to start it and it started right up. I let it sit for a minute and the car just died out. No power again. I looked at the battery terminal connections and all seemed to be ok, nothing loose etc. Then in about a minute, the power came back. Ended up driving the car to work, about 30 miles, and so far it is ok. I'm afraid of getting stuck somewhere, but i dont even know where to begin to troubleshoot. Figured it can't be a fuse or it wouldn't cycle power like that. Connections to the battery seemed ok and even when i wiggled them, nothing happened.
I have an 07 with about 115k on it.
I have a 2007 Hyundai Accent. The interior dome light won't turn on, the trip mileage recycles every time the car turns on, the feature that won't let the locks lock while the key is in the ignition and the car is off doesn't work (what's that called), and the dashboard clock is dead.
The visor fell off and the two wires that provided the lighting for the visor mirror touched something, and I guess, shorted everything. Is there a fuse(s) I can change or do I need some serious electrical repair?
All of my interior lights went out. Except for dome lights etc. Here's a more detailed description. Every light effected by the dimmer on the left side near the ECS button don't work. I'm assuming it's a fuse.
Cluster gauges still work fine. The lights just don't work.
Note: Both headlights are out so I don't know if that could be connected in some way. Haven't been able to change them yet.
So, which fuse this would be? I can't seem to find it. Or if it could even be a fuse?
I bought a 2005 Accent with 150k one year ago and 3 months ago got AT fluid and filter changed. Color was very dark my mechanic friend said.
I checked the fluid and after just 3 months light driving, noticed it smelled burnt and so just changed it again yesterday and it was very dark.
Another piece of info is that previously when got the fluid changed 3 months ago the level registered way above high when car was off but then then normal when running in N. Same thing is happening now. My knowledgeable mechanic friend just told me to keep my eye on it.
There are no shifting issues, except for just light clunk when shifting into Reverse, but other than that it's great.
I just want to know what problems might be going on to burn the fluid so fast and have strange level readings when car is off but okay when on. I read some stuff about solenoids but because shifting is great should I even consider that?
Bought a VAG cable, got VCDS 12.12.0 running. Found the instrument cluster and changed the region to ROW(rest of world)(I have a US Tiguan). The center screen on the cluster changes( as in F change to C, Miles change to Kilometers, everything is ok). However, after recoding the cluster the airbag, ABS, and ESP warning lights come on. Once I revert all changes back to the US coding, everything is again ok.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2011 camry se and recently i try changing the shifter led and i dont know what i did but now the light for that doesn't work including the lights for the A/C, radio, steering wheels, and glove box. but every other lights that i have led in does work. i check the fuse to see if it was blown wasn't that.

I did have the whole dash panel out and unplugged but its back together

View 6 RepliesI know it's just one bulb behind the fan speed control knob. I also know (or was told, rather) that the lighting color is red because of some red plastic doo-dad. What I don't know is whether or not this plastic is red because of a film or coating applied to clear plastic or if the plastic itself is red.
I work at a graphics shop so I've got translucent vinyl film in various shades and tints of blue. If it's a film or coating applied to clear plastic that makes the lighting red, I could probably remove it from the plastic and apply a blue film. I'd really prefer not to take apart the dash to remove the HVAC controls only to find out that I'm stuck with red lighting.
My left HID lamp started to flicker quickly a month ago. It seemed like it was a loose lamp housing connection when I hit bumps. I took the housing out, coated the connections with electrical grease and fit it back in tightly. Now a week later the lamp changes to an amber tone after it is lit aprox. 10 secs.
Does this indicate the bulb is about to fail? Is this a common issue? 04', so I know it is out of warranty and I am sure the bulbs aren't cheap. I even did the vagcom mod to save the bulbs during the day
So first time esc light came up on cluster was around 56k miles. No cruise control or ability to use obd2 port. No cel just esc light on..... Dealer fixed by replacing a blown fuse behind fuse panel. That lasted maybe 500 miles and esc light back on with same symptoms. I replaced fuse myself, which fixed it, just to last maybe 100 miles before coming back on again. Replaced fuse again and waiting to see how long it lasts. I will be going back to dealer to see what they come up with but not sure what is making it blow fuses all of a sudden and so frequently?
View 5 RepliesI have a 2010 Accent GS. I was trying to change the bulb in the trunk light. I changed the bulb and now none of the lights inside the car work-- map lights, dome light, trunk light. I figured it was a blown fuse. I looked at the fuse box inside the car and I think I found the fuse I think it's the one in that yellow box that is in the right side center of the fuse box. How do you pull that thing out? Are you supposed to pull out the individual fuses. I pulled the yellow box. It only comes half-way out. How do I check that little 10 amp fuse inside that yellow box?
View 3 RepliesI have a 2006 Accent and recently the interior lights have gone dim and the switch to adjust them does not make them brighter nor dimmer, why this has happened? I don't usually have it on the brightest but not the lowest either and now it seems to stay on the lowest setting.

View 6 RepliesI just picked up an '03 Golf and decided to put in the euro switch I had from my old Jetta. When I turn the headlights on (either parking or full) the instrument cluster blue back lighting and the red interior LEDs work only sometimes. When they work, they all work, but probably about 9 out of 10 times, they just won't come on at all, so I have to sit there turning the switch on and off repeatedly until they do come on. What could be causing this? It's definitely not a fuse since they do come on eventually, so my first thought was maybe a relay, but which one? What else could be going on?
