So a couple weeks ago I refilled the reservoir for coolant because it was low. But the radiator level was fine. Then today I checked the reservoir and it was below the L and the radiator level was a little under as well. What could be causing this? Possibly a hose? I don't think it would be a bad radiator?
View 10 RepliesI have a 2005 Hyndai Accent. When it started getting really cold the car began to have issues starting. I turn the key and it tries to start. The battery is fine. I thought it might be something in the fuel line so I had the car towed to the local garage and they said they put the car in the garage and it fired right up. After that the car was fine for a couple weeks. Superbown Sunday after the game I went to get it in and it would not start. On a hunch I went got a bottle of heat put it in and it started right up. It was fine until I refilled the tank then it refused to start so I put more heat in it and it started. I did this once more and it worked. One night after work it wouldn't start so I put heat in it and it would not start. I messed with it for about 2 hours finally I was able to push it down a hill pop the clutch and it started. I took it back to the shop it was in there for 3 days and they were unable to reproduce the problem. Since then every time it is cold it refuses to start I have to push start it every time. Luckily this is still working. I am fed up I dont know what to do with it. Every time I take it to the shop and they cant reproduce the problem it costs me money and I am sick of it.

another question, when adjusting the ps belt, do you all use a tool to put tension on the belt till you tighten it or do you just pull back with your hand? I am thinking and hoping the belt just needs a tad more tension on it.
i replaced belts about 2 months ago with gates brand- replaced originals with 30k miles on them. I had squeaking before while running which the belt change fixed.
80km on my accent, the brake pedal was getting softer and brake fluid was a bit low as normal due to brake pads were worn up over time. Brake pads were never changed. I thought changing the pads would change the softness of the brake pedal. I changed the brake pads, left and right, the brake fluid in the reservoir went up as normal but I drove around but the softness of the brake pedal did not change. I still had a little less than half size on the old pads. I need to press the pedal a bit much to feel the brakes. I am wondering maybe the brake pedal was always like that when I bought the car.

My Parking Brake/Low Brake fluid Level Warning Light will coming on while driving and then all the gauges drop down. The light goes off and the gauges come right back up. All this happens within 2-4 seconds maybe. And usual happens maybe once every 6-7 times I drive it so not all the time.
I am driving, not braking so even more confused.
2006 with 58000 miles. Never noted overheat or leak on garage floor. Fluid level low in coolant reservoir. Dealer wants to replace water pump.
View 2 RepliesI drive a Gen 6 2.0GT Celica. It goes great and never gives me any hassle. While it is still going great it has given me a little cause for concern. The low oil level light comes on from time to time. What actually happens is when the car's up to operating temperature the light comes on. Then if I accelerate or just rev the engine the light goes out. There is no smoke, no strange noises, no lack in performance and no strange smells. The oil level is definitely ok, but I don't want to just ignore the light and it means I'm not enjoying driving now. I was thinking it could be a faulty sensor, but I don't like the fact that I can predict when it will come on. Could it be the oil pump or the filter? What would cause this?
View 10 RepliesI just picked up a 2014.5 Camry (my 1st Toyota) and how full the windshield washer reservoir should be at max level. Now hear me out before you fall off your chair from hysterical laughter, if I fill up the reservoir up to the lid like every other car I have owned, after a short drive it will go down and be below the filler neck, clear down under the fender even though I haven't sprayed the washer fluid.
I haven't seen any fluid dripping but I believe I have a leak. Sounds pretty cut and dry but I'm asking just incase Toyota has a weird fill level on the washer reservoir.
2008 Accent 234,000 miles, Auto. I have an issue with my A/C that I can't seem to get a handle on. The A/C does not blow cold all the time.
Blows cold - When driving all the time. While sitting still IF it is cool out. Cools to around 48 degrees in the morning.
Does not cool - When sitting still and it is hot out. Has blown over 100 with outside temps around the same.
Freon levels are fine. Sounded like an airflow problem so I replaced the condenser fan and it did not work. Both fans are running when the A/C is on.
Something is turning off the compressor when it is hot and I'm not driving. I did notice one day that the high side A/C line was extremely hot to the touch. Does this system have a high pressure switch? Could it be a high pressure issue only when the compressor gets hot?
I have a 2011 SE I4 with roughly 12k on it. Here's my problem: The past few days, I've been smelling something sweet coming out of my AC. I thought nothing much of it until today, when I noticed that my coolant/antifreeze reservoir level was slightly below the low "L" point with the engine cold. I am not sure if this means that I have a leak or something more serious? Is there something that I can do to try and figure out what the hell is wrong? My car is still under warranty, is this something that the dealership should look into? Will there be a cost for that?

I decided to add coolant by removing the radiator pressure cap, however, the coolant fluid is full under this cap.
So my question is where should I add coolant? through this cap or the reservoir?
I have a '98 Honda Civic with 230K miles on it. Last month, I suddenly saw few drops of coolant on my garage floor. I opened the hood and saw coolant splashed over the engine. I opened the coolant reservoir and it was empty. Surprisingly, the car never overheated and neither did the temp needle go up. I took the car to the mechanic (Honda shop) and they said that the radiator is leaking. I replaced the radiator and after driving for couple of weeks, the same issue re-occurred.
The coolant ran low in the reservoir and there was coolant splash over the engine. I took the car back to the shop and they said that the hose was not properly installed. They fixed it and said there is no sign of leak. I have been driving for a week now and check the coolant routinely. I have noticed that the coolant level has again dropped significantly. But, after the last fix, I do not see any visible sign of leak. There is no evidence of coolant anywhere under the hood. I am not sure if there is something else going on now. Is there something else I should check?
So 2 months after my accident I'm finally able to drive again and my car is 100% fixed and ready. Only 1 problem, every time I make a left turn my car makes this weird noise but I don't know what it is. I replaced my suspension and I thought it would take a couple days for the tightness to wear down and for the noise to go away, but of course with my luck it's still doing it. What can it be??
View 5 RepliesMy wife and i have an 07 accent 2 door and we have a very hard time starting the car after putting fuel in it. Tank level doesn't seem to affect this issue. The car has 160,000 km on it. I've replaced the coil packs already twice. After getting the car to start after putting fuel in it it struggles at idle for the first 15-30 sec and then bang problem is gone until the next time i put fuel in it.
View 2 RepliesAfter changing the timing belt and water pump I want to change the coolant. Stupid to have no temp gauge so I got a scan tool connected. Been idling 20 minutes and it hasn't gone above 189 degrees. Assume it has a 195 degree thermostat. I put fresh water in the radiator but still don't see it mixing with coolant in the block as if the thermostat has opened.
View 6 RepliesI started to drive with my windows open and just noticed a noise every time I switch gears, and specially when I'm going up on hills or streets, the noise is just for 1 second maybe 1.5 and when I'm going up on long and elevated streets is longer specially on 3rd gear, I just did the oil change on my car a couple weeks a go (quacker state 5W20 , 3 1/2 quarts) and I was hoping to fix the "noise" with that, but is not......the "noise" is like a "click click click click" like valves hitting .......I can't say for how long the engine was doing that "noise", cause I just noticed after driving with my windows open

View 11 RepliesI have a 4.3l CPi vin w 1994 s10 zr2 .... At a idle it revs up and down from 500.-1500rpms? Loading up on fuel and dies after idling after a short time. And while going down the road it cuts out like its going to die then it catches itself. Yesterday I put a new idle air controls sensor on and it fixed nothing !!!!!
View 14 RepliesBulbs, wiring and fuses are fine. Backup lights sometimes work for short periods of time if you jiggle the socket on top of the PNP switch. Tried spraying the sockets with wd 40 but did not work. know if cleaning the PNP will resolve this?
