Bulbs, wiring and fuses are fine. Backup lights sometimes work for short periods of time if you jiggle the socket on top of the PNP switch. Tried spraying the sockets with wd 40 but did not work. know if cleaning the PNP will resolve this?
View 9 Repliesbeen off and on having problems with my r/f speaker cutting out, not completely-i get a little noise from it. ive replaced the speakers in the front but found since i have the audiophile system, they sounded terrible. i removed what i believe to be a crossover from the factory speaker & reinstalled the crossover with the factory connector & tweeter, but spliced in the new 6x8s. this made it sound wonderful again. now i still seem to be having the problem and found if i unplug the radio and plug it back in it will work good again for a short period of time.
my question is can i use any ford radio that looks like it is the same, I like the ones with the chrome on thje. Or should i just get a kenwood or something. i dont want to spend a ton of money. and will an aftermarket head unit decrease sound quality since i have the audiophile as the speakers originally did without the crossover.
I have a 2012 camry hybrid that had the stock push button radio and I wanted to add a backup camera. So I picked up a 2013 camry entune display head unit to replace the stock one without a display.
The backup camera does not work when the car is in reverse and I see that the mpg and other data does not update on the radio display, although all of the same data is displayed on the instrument cluster.
My backup lights only work when I have one bulb or the other installed but not both. The other 4 mini lights in the same circuit on the trunk work. The backup lights do not work at all when the headlights are on. Could it be the backup light relay and where is that located? I checked wiring on the trunk and multiple bulbs.
View 5 RepliesI screwed up installing LED taillight assemblies in my 2011 SuperDuty and pinched a couple of wires against the body. The result of this (at least I think that this cause) is that my backup lights no longer work - neither the backup lights in the tail light assembly nor the reverse light power on the trailer plug. I have checked the fuses, etc. and nothing. I brought it to a local shop and they could not figure out the problem, either, but said that it was probably the "control module" that got fried when the wires got pinched. They said to take it to the dealer. The questions are, what "control module" might they be referring to, or what to check?
View 1 RepliesI have a 2007 Santa Fe Limited and recently the main AC blower has been cutting on and off for long periods of time. The rear blower has not had any issues and has always worked. The main blower cuts off randomly and stays off until I tap under the glove box and then it normally kicks back on. Recently that has stopped working and I need to figure out what the problem is. Having the AC on or off does not effect this issue.
View 7 RepliesI have a 2001 Ford Escape XLT V6 4X4. About 3 months ago I started to experience rough idle in the morning. It went a away for a month or so, but it is back now. I noticed that it occurs primarily after the vehicle has sat for long periods of time. More than 10 hours, give or take, and it happens, less than 10 and it generally doesn't. When the issue does occur it sometimes almost stalls. I can tell the computer attempts to make up for it usually. The check engine light came on originally but hasn't since, a mechanic could not pull any code and could not reproduce. The issue disappears within 3 to 5 minutes usually after everything seems to warm up. I'm had regular maintenance and I am an 75k. I've even tried using gas additives and tried a high grade of gasoline to no avail.
View 17 RepliesMy 2003 f150 v6 occassionally leaks a little inside when running the AC for long periods of time. Its only a little bit, and Ive noticed it after several road trips with the AC on the whole time. I am aware of a service bulletin fix on this. Essentially the problem is the two drain holes are horizontal through the firewall so air blows water back in, and the fix is to fit two L shaped hoses to block the wind and allow the water to drain downward in the engine compartment. I have done this months ago and it has largely solved the problem, when the water was more of an issue. My question is, is some condensation to be expected or is something clogged up? From time to time the heater core area makes a faint rhythmic rattling that goes away eventually.
View 2 RepliesI am having issues with my air conditioning on the 05 prius. For some reason when I leave to go somewhere its fine, but if I stop for long periods of the time the a/c stops cooling, the fan is still blowing. Once i take off it cools somewhat better but still not cold as it should be.
I have already had the car checked for DTCs and there are none, plus I had the a/c vacuumed down and recharged to factory specs, it still has the same problem.
I have an automatic '95 Toyota Corolla wagon that over the past year has had intermittent problems dying after turning on the ignition. It happens mostly when starting for the first time in the morning in our carport (which is generally flat) [are there enough red herrings yet?]. However, we can go for weeks without problems. Our battery is relatively new (1yr) and the car starts-- however, sometimes the car dies unless the gas pedal is depressed for long periods of time in neutral or park. If I can pull out of the carport without having the car die, we've never had any problems on the road.
View 7 RepliesI'm having an annoying new problem on my entune in my 2013 camry SE. I will open pandora and then before it plays any songs it just closes out of the program. The same happens no matter how many times I open it. The next day it may or may not work again. I've tried reinstalling entune on my phone (Galaxy s4) but that didn't work. It doesn't seem to be my phone because it seems like it's opening fine. If it weren't connected it says that it can't find entune on my phone. Also the Bluetooth streaming still works fine.

View 7 RepliesThe Up/Down switch on my 2012 Camry SE doesn't work half the time. Of course it works when opening it, but half the time won't work when closing it. I called today to order a new switch and the dealer told me they do not sell just the switch and I had to purchase the entire overhead console?
Can I purchase the switch only. Just to clarify there are 2 switches. The left switch is Open/Close and the right switch is Up/Down.
My back up alarm hasn't been working all the time. I checked for the clicking sound when it wasn't working & could hear the clicking. The light is on all the time when its acting up. Is there a control box somewhere?

View 11 RepliesI have a 2007 Prius and the MFD started to work intermittently and now has died. It is an 86110-47230. Is it more likely the MFD unit itself died or does the wiring in the dash sometimes go bad. Everything I have read suggests the MFD. My backup cam doesn’t work since the MFD died, and that is a safety issue and should be covered under some type of Fed safety regulations on a five year old car, but apparently not.
My battery tests good. Wiring connections on the back are connected well. Before I buy a used MFD and install it myself, I want to get an idea of the odds that it’s the MFD or wiring that is the problem.
Like the title, my backup camera on the limited sometimes doesn't work. Why this might be happening? This started happening few days ago...., I installed HID about three~four months ago and I just installed my led tail lights...
View 11 RepliesI have a 4.3l CPi vin w 1994 s10 zr2 .... At a idle it revs up and down from 500.-1500rpms? Loading up on fuel and dies after idling after a short time. And while going down the road it cuts out like its going to die then it catches itself. Yesterday I put a new idle air controls sensor on and it fixed nothing !!!!!
View 14 RepliesSo a couple weeks ago I refilled the reservoir for coolant because it was low. But the radiator level was fine. Then today I checked the reservoir and it was below the L and the radiator level was a little under as well. What could be causing this? Possibly a hose? I don't think it would be a bad radiator?
