2013 accent auto My car rolls noticeably after parking unless the ground is completely flat. Parking brakes prevents it from rolling but I don't use parking brakes every time. Another brake problem I have is thump or clunk noise I get whenever I release a brake from stop.
View 12 RepliesOn releasing the clutch pedal, a creaking noise can be heard, which:
- sounds and feels like a rusty spring being unloaded
- occurs for the entire range of pedal travel, but worse near the bottom
- is louder outside the car than inside
- happens not only when driving, but also when stationary with the engine off
I don't think anything is wrong with the clutch itself, or any bearings, or major components... It just feels like something needs to be lubed. I've lubed the spring above the pedal inside the car, with no real effect.
Whenever I park on an incline whether it's upward or downward the car seems to roll about an inch or so after engaging the parking brake and then taking my foot slowly off the brakes. When I engage the parking brake I have the transmission set in neutral so the weight of the car doesn't put stress on it.
View 26 RepliesI have 2012 sentra with CVT transmission & 60,000 miles. I just got 60,000 miles service done. Service adviser called me to let me know that I need to have replaced upper strut bearing on the front (left & right) replaced because they are making clunking noise when turn wheels or parking. When I asked for the reason why they should go bed he told me that it's normal, some sand other debris could clog there or water could have damaged it.
View 4 RepliesToday I stopped at the post office to check my mail. I put the car in park and didn't shut off the engine - this is what I always do. When I returned a few moments later the car would not go into reverse (this was after releasing the parking brake) and the traction control symbol came on. The car would go into drive but that didn't work much as I was up against a hill (or almost against it). Shutting the car off and turning it on again solved the problem. The parking space was badly potholed; I'm assuming I had less than full contact on one wheel which caused the traction control to kick in which prevented reverse from engaging. And to be clear - it's not that it went into reverse but didn't go anywhere; reverse simply wouldn't engage (I did not try neutral),
View 13 RepliesParking Brake not releasing fully and therefore the car thinks it's on, sounds the gong and puts a big red P on the MFI? I've had this problem a couple of times now. I can cure it by hooking my left foot under the parking brake pedal and just lifting it slightly at the top of its natural travel when operating the release handle. But it certainly makes me not want to put it on. Trip to the workshop required?
View 24 RepliesI live in the mountains an back into my driveway that is on a steep hill. My car has rolled backwards twice now with the parking break engaged. The first time it came to a halt where it flattened out. Last night I had my truck parked behind it and it rolled into our recycling and garbage bins and pinned them between the car and the truck. I have a significant dent below the window on my hatch.
Manual transmission. Parking brake engaged. Car was in neutral. I usually leave my car in first when parking on a hill. I am not sure if it slipped out of gear or I left it in neutral by accident.
My wife has a 2012 Accent with 23k miles. Within the last few weeks she started having a clunking noise coming from the rear passenger side when going over bumps. I had some time to check the basics (loose lugs, broken exhaust bracket, spare tire, trunk lid, etc..) and have come up with nothing. I'm not very familiar with Hyundai's, but I wouldn't think there are very many components to the rear suspension other than struts that could be making a clunk like that. But with 23k miles, the struts shouldn't be bad.
View 6 RepliesI've been having some issues with my car lately, 2012 Accent 1.6 manual transmission 36,000km aprox. The RPM climbs after I release the clutch, for example I'm going from 1st gear to 2nd, or 2nd to 3rd or any change of gears around 2,500rpm and when I release the clutch the RPM climbs to 2,800 or so and stays like that a couple of seconds, today the RPM climbed from 2,500 to 3,000-3,200 and stayed like that again for a couple of seconds.
View 5 RepliesI've got a '13 GS 350 F-Sport and when the parking brake is set and you go to get out of the car it makes a real weird creaking noise. Its only when the parking brake is set, if i turn the auto parking brake off, it doesn't do it at all.

Started when I would forget the parking brake is on and would just put the car in reverse & wouldn't move until I released the parking brake. Did it about 5-7 times and now every time I brake without the parking brake on, it squeaks & is really annoying. Is there any way to fix this or is it just gonna be complicated & expensive?

Purchased this car used with 64k miles on it. I am in the process of performing the 60k miles service items and going through typical replacement of worn parts.
I have noticed that my rear passenger brake drum assembly squeaks when I let off the brake pedal. Note that this is not noise when applying brake pressue, but after releasing the brakes. Additionally, the drum happens to be rusted very badly. It took a good amount of brute force to remove the drum in order to inspect the brake assembly. There was a lot of brake dust built up and I thought that cleaning that out would get rid of the noise.
I suspect it could be one of the springs but I cannot be for certain. The squeak does not occur when I release the parking brake.
I bought a brand new 2016 Camry LE. Sometimes when car sits for a while, and I shift from P to R, there is a clunking noise with foot on the brake. I tried with the parking break engage and it still does it.
View 4 RepliesI bought a 2012 Hyundai Accent GLS just two days ago. It has about 38,000 miles on it. It's an automatic as well. I drove it home on the highway and was averaging about 44 mpg the entire time. Even while driving in town, it's got pretty good fuel economy. Everything about the car is great.
However, last night, I was driving around. When I came to a stop at a stop sign/red light/etc. and then proceeded to accelerate, I would hear this weird squeaking / creaking sound. I've heard it multiple times now since then. It doesn't do it every single time I accelerate, but when it does, it lasts for about 3 seconds and then stops. I've also noticed it does it sometimes when I make a turn and then accelerate. It's just a squeaking sound.
Is this something I should be concerned about? It doesn't do it every single time I accelerate, but when it does, it will last for about 3 seconds. I should also note that the car made the noise the first night after I had been driving for a while, so the engine wasn't cold or anything.
Ive got a 2013 Accent with 16,000km on it. It has an automatic transmission. The noise is when i pass from R to D, or P to D. It is an intermittent noise, so it does not do it all the time. But when it does, it makes a loud "bang" that can be easily heard and felt in the floor. Ive had it checked by the dealer, but it never does it when its in the shop.
I always let the idle go down before shifting into gear and even if i hold the brake hard to change gears it does it anyway. It doesnt matter if the trans is cold or hot. And no, i never change gears when the car is still rolling, always when i have stopped completely.
I have noticed that my car do a noise when I brake and it come to a halt. It's hard to describe, but it's sound like "put". A little bit like a shock noise, but my shock doesn't make any noise when I go over bump. I had a loaner car while my car was in for rattles, and there was no noise like that. What it could be? View 6 Replies1. When I am on a hill facing up a few times when I put my foot off the brake my car starts rolling backwards like it's in neutral. Then when I put my foot on the gas there is a funny noise and it seems the gear or something happens and I get power to move forward up the hill. The noise to me is quite unnerving like it should not be happening.
2. A couple of times when I have backed up out of a parking spot, when I come to a stop I hear a noise like a spring and while I am turning the steering wheel and putting the car into drive.
I have the 12 Accent GL Auto, I have about 161,000 km, and recently say 3 months I've been hearing/feeling this click click noise come from under the car whenever I am in "manual" mode in 1st gear coming from a stop, now I`m 99% sure its not the brakes releasing because I just replaced both my caliper's in the rear and pads and rotors all the way around, And I know this sound because I've had the problem (twice) were my brakes stick so I'm very familiar with that sound this is something different, I want to say transmission because it only does this in 1st gear manual mode, but i know where the transmission is on this car, and this sound isn't coming from where the transmission is, more like under the firewall ( where the trans would be on a RWD car).
View 3 RepliesAccent 2006. When I start the car and start to drive, the car rock on the driver's side. I think it's the driver's rear. Then the feeling of a flat tire is felt but the tire seems to be ok. Occasionally hear a loud noise like from the exhaust and when I stop at a stop sign or stop lights and release the brake the car does not move till the accelerator is pressed and it rocks again and moves. It has 99000 km on it.

At first This grinding noise use to only happen in the morning the first couple of years, it would go away within minutes or less. Now, the grinding noise is almost during every slow brake at a red light etc. It's a grinding horrible noise that seems to be getting worse.
View 2 RepliesI have been hearing a sound on and off now for months that happens right before the car comes to complete stop and sounds like the ABS 'chatter' sound like you hear if they come on in snowy roads. Problem is roads are dry. Literally last 1 second. Will happen when stopping hard or slowly. Maybe once or twice a week. I can't reproduce it happen no matter how hard I try. Brakes are in good shape as are tires and it isn't like I am locking them up or anything. No ABS light or traction control light showing. No codes thrown either.
