Looking to be able to have my parking lights and fog lights on at the same time. Currently when the headlights get turned off so do the fog lights. I have a US RB with no DRL. What needs to be done with the wiring if you've done this mod.

View 4 RepliesI had a question regarding the little lights that are above (I am assuming these are either daytime driving lights or parking lights) the fog lights. Is there anyway to keep these on all the time, or to turn them on/off with a switch? Reason I am asking is the Prius I am looking to buy does not come with fog lights and I notice the light above where the foglight would be is orange. Comparing that to Sylvania's lamp replacement guide for a 2011 prius, I assume that is what they refer to as the "parking light" (The turn signals have a different bulb). I was hoping I could replace that bulb with a clear bulb (instead of orange) and then keep it on all the time with my headlights on/off just to provide a little more light (even if it is negligible).

View 14 RepliesAfter taking my car to 2008 Lexus GS 350 AWD for an oil change and recall fix, I noticed my iJDMToy LED Parking Lights and Xentec HID for Fog Lamps have stopped working and just blink a very low light the entire time. The parking light starts working fine when the main head lights are off, but as soon as I turn them on, they start to blink again. The fog lamps just constantly blink at a low light level while on. So a little while ago I had my parking brake, ABS, and traction control lights all come on at the same time. There was no change in performance, but they have been on ever since. I looked in to it online and a bunch of people said this was a common problem with damaged tone rings, so I checked them out, but they were fine (as far as I could tell anyway). So I scanned the vehicle using a buddy of mine's Snap On scanner, and it came up with the following code:
B1342 Faulty Control Module
We tried to check the fault code through Mitchell OnDemand but it said that this code was for a faulty Parking Assist Module. I don't have any kind of Parking Assist system on this vehicle however. I looked around a little more and this seems to be a pretty generic code for brake system faults with Fords. Also, if the control module for the ABS is the same one that handles traction control?
I have 2007 Sonata GLS and have noticed on several (at least 6) occasions that the parking lights (front turn signal lamps and tail lights) as well as the instrument lights will stay on after turning off the car, removing key and locking it. Usually I flip the switch a few times and they'll go off and stay off. Today wasn't so easy. I'm guessing it's the switch but wanted to know if this is isolated case or more common before I take to Hyundai. The problem can't be "duplicated" when you want it to happen. Usually it's on colder mornings when coming to work.

View 14 RepliesI have 2012 sentra with CVT transmission & 60,000 miles. I just got 60,000 miles service done. Service adviser called me to let me know that I need to have replaced upper strut bearing on the front (left & right) replaced because they are making clunking noise when turn wheels or parking. When I asked for the reason why they should go bed he told me that it's normal, some sand other debris could clog there or water could have damaged it.

View 1 RepliesAlthough the 2009 Accents don't have automatic running lights, since I got the car I'd just been keeping the headlights turned on. (Yes I know this will cut the life of the lights themselves but it's not a bad safety step for a small car).
This worked well of course - the headlights would come on when the car was started, headlights and parking lights would go off when the car was stopped.
I've done nothing different but in recent weeks however the parking lights have been staying on quite often - though not ALL of the time. While I can't rule out I've done some quirky thing differently that somehow keeps the lights on, googling around and searching this forum indicates that this could be an issue with a relay box which may be costly to replace but still under warranty (I'm under the 5 year 60k mile warranty still)
Now bear in mind, this isn't a situation where the headlights are turned off and stay on - it's just a change from having the headlight knob always on, but the lights would go off when the car was stopped and keys removed.
Obviously the "fix" is simply turn off the headlights when I get out of the car - but I am concerned that there's an inexplicable change and wonder if it's a sign of larger issues regarding a relay that should be addressed while it's under warranty.
I know - very minor in the grand scope of car problems but I do worry about larger electrical issues, especially since the parking light issue seems to be erratic - sometimes it goes off, sometimes it stays on.
Is there anyway to turn off the daytime running lights?
View 4 RepliesI live in the mountains an back into my driveway that is on a steep hill. My car has rolled backwards twice now with the parking break engaged. The first time it came to a halt where it flattened out. Last night I had my truck parked behind it and it rolled into our recycling and garbage bins and pinned them between the car and the truck. I have a significant dent below the window on my hatch.
Manual transmission. Parking brake engaged. Car was in neutral. I usually leave my car in first when parking on a hill. I am not sure if it slipped out of gear or I left it in neutral by accident.
2013 accent auto My car rolls noticeably after parking unless the ground is completely flat. Parking brakes prevents it from rolling but I don't use parking brakes every time. Another brake problem I have is thump or clunk noise I get whenever I release a brake from stop.
View 12 RepliesMy mom's 2012 accent won't start. When turning the key the starter does not even attempt to engage. Battery voltage is fine, I also tried jumping it. I have already checked all the fuses and relays and they are good.
Whenever the car is attempted to be started, the Electronic Throttle Body/ MAF makes a high pitched sound but that is all we can get out of the car right now. I also checked the parking sensor by going from Park (P), through all the gears, and then back to Park. Still nada.
Noticed this to be a problem with our older 2011 Accent, now with the 2012 Accent.
The car has a rough idle usually in mornings, it seems like it is going to stall at stops, it also has a tough time accelerating.
The computer scan does not show there is anything wrong until the problem becomes worse.
This is what I have discovered through the 2011 Accent. Car will stall at stops. Very inconvenient in rush hour traffic. Until they replace the Crankshaft Point Censor, the problem would not go away.
I would insist on looking at this rather than replacing sparkplugs or having any other service performed if one is experiencing these same symptoms. The good thing is it is under warranty.
I recently noticed that I'm getting a high pitched whining noise after I drive anywhere then stop and turn off the car. The noise is a buzzing/whining sound that lasts about 10-15 seconds and then stops. The noise sounds like it's an electronic component maybe having to do with the transmission? What it might be?

View 3 RepliesI recently purchased a 2011 Ford Edge with the My-Touch control system. I am planning on taking it to music festivals where I "camp" in and around my vehicle. Some of the lights go on every time a door or hatch is opened. As I am in and out of the vehicle day and night, is there a way to disable this feature?. I ask mostly because of lights bothering me and others, but am a little concerned about battery drain. It could be up to a week without starting or driving. I do turn the headlights off, but others (inside and out) come on.
