When ever my Camry its a rough road the trunk rattles like their is something moving around in it, however there is nothing in the trunk, I checked to make sure the spare was secure and it is. What could be the problem?

The windows function properly and I don't have any issues with them except they just make a lot of creaking noises while driving.
View 11 RepliesI have a 2005 NF sonata elite 4 cylinder 147k on it. have a problem with a squeaking noise when car goes over rough road, bumps or pot holes. Had 2 new shocks put in the front today and got car back but noise was still there but not as frequent. Have returned car and they will take new ones out and put back old ones as they where still ok just wear on them no major issues.
View 14 RepliesI am getting ready to put new axle shaft u-joints in my 2008 F350 (they are shot, they actually rattle on my rough roads). While I am at it I figure I will grease the front wheel brg cartridge, replace the needle brg that is inside the cartridge. I am also afraid I will the axle shaft vacuum seal. I don't want to go to ford an get raped, diesel O-rings doesn't have parts for the newer pickups and I don't want to get junk from the parts houses. Where I can get these parts for a reasonable price? What the best brands are? Are they the same parts as the earlier super duties? I know the lock out is different.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2010 RX350 that has an intermittent chirp sound when driving. It's on the left side around the front driver's side. The dealer believes it's coming from the suspension (everything has been checked and is fine - all the bushings lubed and bolts tightened). But I believe it's coming from the inside (maybe the dash?). It's a random chirp that happens when you drive over rough roads/bumps, but not always.

View 4 RepliesThe front struts n my 2010 camry se with about 51k on it and it makes a horrible clunk and pop noise when going slowly on uneven roads and over speed bumps. I got out to check the cause and found it to be he top of the strut coming through the strut mount is making the popping sound and seems like it has more than normal movement... does this happen to many? is it a common issue...

View 6 RepliesI noticed my 2014.5 camry has a loose driver's window. When rolled down between 2 to 6 inches, it rattles when driving over small bumps If I actually feel the window, it moves about 1/8 inch to the sides when open 2 to 6 inches. I mentioned this at my one year service. The tech showed me other 14.5 SE's they had the same problem only on the driver's window. He said the dealers can't do anything about it because it is how Toyota designed the cars.
View 1 RepliesWhen i go over bumps at slow speed (such as speed bumps) i hear a rattle in the trunk like something is loose. Its a deep sound like ceramic plate or a brake rotor kinda flopping around back there (not plastic creaks). Sounds almost exactly like a loose spare tire or something. So i checked it, and it was tight. Sound still there. so then i jsut removed everything, jack/tools and spare tires. Sound still there. So then i ran with both the seats down, and up in the locked positions. Def more noticable with the seats down.
It doent seem to make the noise on small sharp bumps when im on the freeway. Usually only rolling slowly (less then 15mph) over large bumps and when the suspension comes back down in rattles. I plan on bringing the car in when my work weeks over, but im wondering if theres anything else i can check in teh trunk area that might be rattleing around.
I picked up a 2014.5 SE V6 a month ago and the car has been great overall. But the suspension is stiff especially over rough roads as many of you already know.
I've searched around and there's talk about swapping strut/shock parts with an LE/XLE or different tires but I can't find how much of a difference it made.
BTW, the tires are new Yokohama Avid Envigors.
I kept hearing some noise for quite sometime on rough roads, but never on highways. I thought it is related to suspension and kept complaining to the dealer and they would promptly come back with everything is alright. During the weekend I went to a different dealer and mentioned about the noise and the tech did the test ride and immediately pointed it out as dash rattle. The tech was able to place his hand on the dash close to the windshield (slightly to the right of the steering wheel) and the noise stopped on the rough roads. I have 97K miles right now on the car and I have the extended warranty I shared this with the service rep and he is going to let me know if it will be covered.
View 8 RepliesI have a 2012 Santa fe SE that with 22k miles on it. I have developed an annoying rattle in the back driver side door. I have gone around all of the doors with a screwdriver and tightened up everything but this rattle persists when driving on moderately rough roads. As odd as it seems I believe it also occurs more frequently on smooth roads when going around a left curve.
View 10 RepliesI have a 2011 SF 2.4L FWD GLS with 79k miles. I replaced the OE struts and shocks 3 weeks ago with Monroe OE Spectrum struts and shocks. This improved the ride tremendously especially on the front passenger side where the strut was leaking.
After driving it for 3 weeks I still feel a little rattle or clunk when driving over ruff roads at slow speeds. I did check the ball joint and wheel bearings while I was in there, and I am certain they are not the source of the noise. I also checked the strut mount when I transferred it to the new strut, and while it appeared and felt ok I think it is the most likely cause of the remaining rattle and clunk.
Any aftermarket strut mounts for this particular model year? I have looked at RockAuto and they have a Moog Part # HYSB9816. This part claims it is for the European builds. Is there really a difference for this particular part?
Ok on my 07 camry se, my right front passenger window rattles when in the up position. I noticed after the car has been sitting for awhile, that it's quiet but when I decide to open the window and then close it it starts to rattle. Now this happens when driving over bumps or have the music turned up.
View 3 RepliesSo I finally decided to look into all the little creaks and rattles that the R makes while going over bumps in the road.
-Wrapped the latches of the rear seats in electrical tape, and put adhesive velcro (soft side) on the back of the seats where it meets plastic.
-Took apart the center console and put adhesive felt around the areas where plastic makes contact with other plastic
-Put adhesive felt inside the aluminum trim & Monsoon radio to stop shaking
So all those little fixes eliminated most of the rattling sounds in the car. All that I need to look into are the driver and passenger doors to secure whatever is rattling/shaking inside those panels. Something to do this coming week. I normally would leave these noises alone, but damn they drive me crazy like it's a form of Chinese water torture. I hope to have no more rattles in the following week.
I have a rattling problem with my 2011 Prius and Here are the quick facts:
The rattling typically happens while going over bumps or driving on patchy roads. It happens when running over the "buttons" on the road.
The noise is not related to RPM, or transition from battery to engine usage.
If I had to describe the noise, I would call it a "plasticy" buzzing/ticking.
It definitely sources from the driver side dashboard. Passengers cannot hear it well.

I have tried pressing down on various panels, none seem to eliminate or dampen the sound completely.
However! Smacking the light-gray panel below the "triangle window" use to temporarily reduce the noise.
I've tried removing the same panel below the driver side "triangle window" because I thought the noise was coming from there but it persisted.
I read on another rattle thread that the column supporting the roof (and bordering the triangle window) is the real culprit, but punching it only reduces the rattle sometimes.
I've brought it into my local Toyota and they did a search for anything that could be rattling. They didn't work, and after they finished the center console was rattling too (which I've fixed).
Also, cold weather seems to worsen the symptoms. I should also state that sometimes I have little to no rattling, but on other trips there is no end to the rattling.
2013 4dr Stage 1 w/ dog bone tranny insert, VWR springs, 29K mi. LONG time Corrado VR6 owner - new to OBD II / turbo cars.
Car just doesn't feel as "solid" as it should. I expected it to feel really buttoned down with a quiet cabin.
I hear annoying creaking type noises when going over bumps / rougher roads (even did this with stock springs) Sounds like coming from rear interior, like window seal areas.
Not sure if this is due to body flex or something else. Anything to address this? Would any kind of stabilizer bars (front strut / rear hatch / under body chassis) work? or make it worse?
Recently bought a CPO 2010 RX350 with 57k miles on it at a dealer on 8/30/14. Its developed quite a bit of interior rattles and creaks from what sounds like the structure over bumps and roads that aren't smooth. Plus the sunroof has a high frequency rattle. None of these were present during the test drive.
View 9 Replies2009 Prius bottomed out last week and twisted up the bracket that runs the exhaust system in the center of the car. Tore one side totally out of the frame. Consequently, exhaust now bumps and rattles on said bracket. I removed the bracket this morning to get a look.
