I have a 2010 Camry XLE V6 3.5 with 17,000 miles (around 26.000 km).
When I change the map lights used excessive force and ended up breaking a piece (see the image) and can no longer fit properly in place the cover of the lamp?
I've been looking around at RX350's and learned about the "Lock" button which forces all-wheel-drive until ~30 MPH.
If you exceed 30 MPH, it appears to disable the lock, and go back into "normal AWD" mode, which means FWD most of the time.
I am wondering if there is a way to override the 30 MPH limit, and thus force the RX350 to stay in all-wheel-drive mode all the time?
My a/c has been slowly but surely going out. When it worked it would blow cold air, but it would slowly decrease the force that it would blow until almost nothing came out at all. Now it wont even turn on. The cabin air filter is new, the lights on the a/c and circulator are both on. I think the compressor is still turning on too. I did notice that occasionally it will make a quick hiss noise, but it happens fast, not a consistent hissing noise.
View 6 RepliesI have noticed recently that I seem to be getting less regen braking force than I used to. Particularly noticeable at higher speeds at over 45MPH or 70 KMPH. The regen seems to have very little effect now until I have slowed down. I seem to have to use much more brake than I remember recently. And by the way the battery in not nearly fully charged....Regen does come on but seems to have very little slowing power....
View 13 RepliesWhat is considered to be excessive oil consumption in regards to the TSB issued by Toyota for the 2.4L engine. Mine is using 2+ quarts per 5000 mile interval. It isn't leaking, so it has to be burning it somehow. It doesn't smoke visibly, but that is a lot of oil IMO (my Harley doesn't use nearly as much).
View 3 RepliesHaving issues with excessive front tire wear? I have had the alignment checked by two VW garages and a third party garage and all of them confirm that the alignment is good.
The VW garage also confirmed that as far as they can see there is no suspension issues, but the excessive wear on the front tires indicates that something is wrong.
I have owned the car since new in 2008 so know it has a clean history no accidents.

OPINION: Bad tire that just wore poorly? Slight alignment issue that caused tire wear that then caused car pull? Wheel bearing issue causing tire wear? Or something else?
How to take it off so I can install LED white lights to make it bright. I already got the rear or middle light whatever you call it. I am afraid to put force on it to break any tab or the light cover it self so that is why I am asking.

I can't seem to go above 10 mph without getting a message stating "EV Mode disabled due to excessive speed"? Is this a glitch or can you really only go 10 mph? That seems pointless if that is the case.
View 18 RepliesThis is my first summer in my 2010 Prius. Noticed excessive wind on your face when driving with the driver side window down? I'm guessing it might have to do with the shape of the car. I can drive at freeway speeds in my 02 Civic with the window down but if I'm travelling faster than a crawl in the Prius it becomes really annoying.
View 16 RepliesMy 4 cylinder Tacoma vibrates a lot when it is idling, especially sitting in "drive" at traffic lights. My regular mechanic has tried various things to remedy it but none has really worked. He suggested the valves may need to be adjusted. Is this plausible? Or is he off-base? And is it really expensive?

View 2 RepliesRecently I have been doing a lot of highway driving with my 2007 Prius. There is noticeably an excessive amount of wind noise at highway speed due to the gap between the front and back door.
After applying a piece of weather stripping from the hardware store, about $5 the wind noise is greatly reduced.
I have a 06' Ranger 2WD with General Grabber tires that have about 30,000 miles on them and still show significant tread remaining.
Within the last 2 months, I have experienced excessive tire noise - like I am driving a Humvee or something. Also, when I turned right or left the tires would make even MORE noise - it seemed to be coming from the right front tire mostly. 2 weeks ago I had the tires rotated and the sound seems to have reduced while turning but I still have the howling Humvee noise while driving down the road. There is no vibration coming from the wheel, so I don't think it's a balancing issue. Could it be the bearings?
I also checked the PSI all around and one tire does have a slow leak but I try to keep to topped off.
I'm in the market for a Prius and I read on carcomplaints that the 2010 model has excessive oil consumption issues. When I searched for more info about this issue, it seems that it occurs in the other model years as well. I'm wondering if I should avoid the 2010 model when looking for a used Prius, or if the trend on carcomplaints is incorrect and this issue is no worse on this model year than others. Did Toyota switch to a different piston ring in this year or are they all the same in the gen 3s?
View 19 RepliesI've had an intermittent problem on my DSG GTI. It will crank about 5 - 10 seconds before it turns over. It doesn't happen all the time. I've also noticed it stalling out after start up occasionally.
After several trips to my lame dealer they can't find anything wrong or duplicate the problem.
Just bought a 2010 Prius IV and loving the car.
Minor annoyance, but wondering why it's so difficult to get the car to enter or stay in EV mode.
When I'm able to get into EV mode, it often beeps that it's leaving EV mode due to excessive speed, but I'm often doing barely 10 mph when this happens. I was under the impression that I could do up to 25 mph. Yesterday, I was floating at 8 mph and it said that was excessive speed.
More often, though, I can't even get into EV mode. It says "EV mode currently unavailable" and why. Doesn't matter if I'm not moving or if I'm driving slowly.
