Bought a 2011 Camry XLE and the radio doesn't scroll from title of song -> name of artist -> channel number while I'm driving. It does scroll thru information when I'm at a stop.
View 2 Repliesis there a way to make a text message make a sound alert? It will pop up for just a couple of seconds saying "new text message" but if I happen to miss that message. Just wondering is there a way to make it chime or something?
View 8 RepliesMy wife have a 14 Corolla LE Plus, no NAV and every time I get a text message it pop up on the screen and I can play the read out message over the car speaker system.
On my Camry it does not do this. I have NAV with the 7" screen. I try matching the setting of my Camry to the Corolla and it seen to be the same but still it does not ready out the message or even pop up when I get a text message.
My IPhone 5 is paired with the car that I know that for sure, all my phone book contacts and phone work just fine even play music from my phone. I can't find anything in the manual.
Before I upgraded from my Windows Phone to an iPhone 6s, i was able to reply to a text while driving. I am wondering if this is a feature unique to the windows phone or if it is possible with the iPhone as well?

There was no driving done. The car was turned off, and turned back on a few minutes later and the message was no longer present. The overnight temps were around -15*F, so I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it. There was no other message displayed, but the coolant light flashed for a couple of secs during the initial start but not the follow-up. Coolant level is normal, and wasn't frozen.
Does it come on for multiple reasons or only one?
As I was getting on the highway today, I heard a loud warning bell and my MFD displayed "Oil Pressure High. ENGINE OFF!". It lasted all of 5 seconds and then disappeared. Car seemed fine (other than the usual ticks and annoyances).

View 22 RepliesIs there a way to disable the beep and text received message on the headunit? You have two choices, Read or Cancel. When I'm driving, I really don't care about texts at all. I don't want whatever is on the stereo obscured.
View 1 RepliesI figured out how to get the text message function to work on my head unit. It was a setting on my iPhone, under Bluetooth it was the "show notifications". Then all of a sudden bam any texts I get while in the car pop up and the HU will read them aloud, also there are a bunch of quick responses.

I noticed when I have my iphone 4s plugged in to the USB and my BT is on I don't get the notification noise that i always do when I get a text message. When I get a phone call it rings on the car speakers since I have it connected to my BT but not the text message. I commute to work over an hour each way and i hate to keep checking my phone to see if I got a text since it's not going off when I get a message.

I paired my Galaxy S3 phone with the PIP and when my phone receives a text message, I get the prompt on the Prius' screen to read the text message to me. I then paired my wife's iPhone4 to the car, but when she gets a text, there's no prompt on the Prius' screen to read the text. Where should I start troubleshooting this?
View 2 RepliesWhen I first start my truck (13 SD, 6.2 with Sync touchscreen) and shift into reverse with the backup camera screen showing and if I happen to get a new text message, the alert pops up on top of the camera image. If I click nothing at all (often don't have time to, notification is short), the home screen quadrant will then appear on top of the backup camera image with a small sliver of the camera image on top and bottom behind the home screen. If I shift out of reverse and back to reverse, I get the backup camera screen back.
Since my "deleting" messages on my truck doesn't do anything with my phone (Nexus 5), I get this problem every time I start up and go into reverse unless I wait for the alert to pop-up first and ignore it.
This started happening with the latest Sync update and I checked for any new updates, none to be had that I can see. I had it into the dealership yesterday who said they couldn't duplicate the issue although they failed to ask me to demonstrate to them with my own phone. Being I've had trouble with them in the past, that part was partly my own fault for "testing" them on that. I fail to see how a setting in my phone could control the screen behavior like this though, so I don't buy it.
With a handful of other problems related to that darn touchscreen, I've just disabled bluetooth syncing likely for good. It's pretty darn terrible.
I just recently purchased a used 2011 Camry and I am seeing a maintenance reminder message on my dash. After I complete all of the recommended maintenance items, how do I reset the message?
View 8 RepliesIt was below 0 yesterday morning and when I turned on the car the text which shows radio/clock/temp/etc did not appear. Just the blue highlight background with no text. Did not appear at all even when the car warmed up and has not appeared since. Everything works normally however (CD, Bluetooth, Radio)
Is there any option to reset the display? If not I guess I have to take it in... I have a 2011 Limited without NAV.
So, one of the features in late model Toyota nav systems is supposed to be the ability to have the speed limit displayed. I've come across a bug (admittedly, others have too in other vehicle forums) where the speed limit isn't displayed unless you set a destination. After you do, the speed limit for the road you're on will be displayed if you have it turned on in the options menu. If you reach the destination or delete the destination and continue driving, the speed limit will stay on the screen, as it should have been the entire time. Once you shut off the car and turn it back on, the speed information is gone again. Repeat the destination, then delete, and it's back.
I went on their website and reported the bug last Friday and got a call this morning from Toyota. They are having me bring my car in so someone can inspect it next week. The more squeaky wheels...
For reference, I have a 14.5 with the JBL and nav. I don't know for sure if other years are supposed to have this feature. I found the button in the options button at the top left of the nav screen. '15 Highlander people are having the same problem, and I'd guess the '15 Camrys are as well. I'd guess the software driving the units is pretty close to identical.
My 2003 Camry with 160k miles is running OK but the check engine light came on and P0341, P0352 and P0354 are displayed with my code checker. I looked up the three codes and could not determine anything that would cause all three codes to display at the same time. I plan to reset the codes to see if and how fast they come back. Is there anything common that could cause all three to display at the same time?

View 3 RepliesI just upgraded my 2010 Camry XLE to the 2015 XLE Hybrid this weekend. Couple of issues... How to get the voice activated system to SEND text messages? I can receive and view them through the car display, but can't get them to respond. I get through all the prompts and then upon sending it stops and says it's not supported.
Second, what I need to get for my iPhone 6 Plus in order to use the built in Qi wireless charger that came with my car? Also, where can I get whatever it is I need to attach to my phone?
Just recently I've noticed clunking in the rear of the car while driving on bumpy roads, on semi-smooth roads the clunking barely happens. I jacked up the rear of the car today to check for broken brackets/bolts/ect. and found nothing. Re-greased the sway bar bushings and tightened down the endlinks a tad (part where it attaches to the sway bar, the top ones look tight but didn't check. ). Cant seem to find anything wrong. The car is 40k miles, had tein solara springs since 3k miles, got the 23mm ur racing sway bar put in at around 15-20k miles, and then bc coilovers around 35k miles. My best guess is that the rear endlinks are done and need replacing.
