Planning to take the 14.5 Camry in later next week. I've noticed the passenger window goes up/down considerably slower than the other 3. I know it's not specific to the passenger window, but have you guys experienced any given window quite slower than the rest? I don't think it's wear and tear since I have no passengers 85% of the time. Wonder if warranty still covers it within 2 years..
View 1 RepliesA while ago I had a '99 Ranger. Long bed, regular cab, 2wd, 5-speed, 2.3. I had really poor acceleration. I was used to Toyota pickups with the 2.4 22RE, and the Ranger was considerably slower to come to highway speeds.
So, I took it to two different dealers, and they told me "that's just the way they are." I guess I believed them and sold the truck. Now, I am kind of thinking about another Ranger. Do people here think the '99 2.3 has an acceleration problem? Are there certain years to avoid the I4 in a Ranger?
My passenger side window is getting slower to roll up. Started with it being a tenth of a second slower. Now I'm at about two seconds. It's only a matter of time before it stops all together.
View 3 RepliesI drove and opened the windows. I came to a stop and tried to close the windows but passenger window wont go up. the lights radio speedometer and everything work but windows still wont go up. i tried the switch on the passenger door also. no luck.
I accidentally pressed the window lock.
I've been able to do a few mods to my car! My passenger side window is able to slide down, but not able to slide upward at all. Now it's sitting about 2/3 of the way down without any hint of upward movement.
It is a 2013 SE.
I was driving down I-35 when all of a sudden I heard a loud boom sound and realized my rear driver passenger side window shattered and I was smelling a burning smell. I drove the vehicle directly to Don Ringler Service Station but they showed no concern or interest in looking into the issue and was told I would need to repair the vehicle at my own expense and never bothered to look into the burning smell issue.

A few weeks back I started to notice my passenger side window started to roll slower than the driver side, not by much but its pretty obvious enough every time you either roll the window down or up.. I made an appointment with a VW service center to have them look at it but they said they can't do anything about it .. Is this true ..? The service guy told me that their would be no way to make the motor of the window go any faster or slower.. However I'm back here again due to some clunking/ticking noise every time I roll my pax side window which develop during their first assessment.. So they ordered me a new window regulator which is getting put in now.. The main and initial problem as to why I made an appointment in the first place was for VW service center to fix my pax side window rolling a bit slowly. Now since they are replacing the regulator of my pax side window I asked the service guy whether this would fix the problem of the window rolling slower compare to the driver side and he bluntly said no.. "we cannot make the motor of the window go slower or faster".. Is their any way to fix the rate of the window to go up or down..?
View 6 RepliesI drive a 94 camry xle with the 5sfe motor. It stipped working on while i was going down the interstate. Before it stopped, i notice that the speedometer was getting slower and slower. So i pulled off to the side of the road and before i was able to stop and get it in park, it quit. Smoke was rolling out but it was like a white clear smoke. When i got it home, i tried starting it and it sound like the compression on the cylinders was way out.
View 5 RepliesAny fix for the driver side window rolling up slower than the passenger side. Sounds like the motor is having a harder time moving it. I can hear the motor straining. Looking for info about successfully lubricate the regulator and fix this? I'd like not to have to replace the motor.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2013 accent and have been having and odd issue. Started a few months ago with the driver controls only being able to lower the front passenger window but not raise it. The passenger side control worked fine. Now months later the passenger control has also stopped working. If I move the switch around I can get it to move a little bit, but I really have to sit there and move it a certain way. What could be casuing this??
View 6 RepliesMy drivers side window hates the cold, getting slower as the temperature drops. When it's real cold it gets to the point where it only goes up a fraction of an inch and stops, then I have to wait a minute and try again. I find that grabbing it and pulling while I hit the switch works a little. So I've researched the problem a bit. Don't think the rails need silicone lube as some suggest. I've seen one guy tap the window motor with a screwdriver, and a post about somehow getting to the brushes and cleaning them. I'm thinking just replace the motor, but it seems odd that it's temperature related.

View 4 RepliesOkay, here's the situation... I have a 04 Olds Silhouette. Within the last 3 days I have noticed the following "symptoms".
1. drivers side window rolls up and down a lot slower than before.
2. The fuel gauge has been acting up, shot up way over full just yesterday and we know we had just under half a tank.
3. Speedometer is also acting up, reads at least 5 to 10 miles per hour over.
Fast forward to tonight, I was sitting in our van listening to the radio while wife was inside walmart and when I went to start it up to warm it up before she returned, it would not start, only got clicking. We did try jump starting it and all we've gotten so far is clicking. Are any of the symptoms I listed above, connected to this issue? Also, what is the issue? Battery or starter or other?
I purchased a 2011 350 crew cab lariat 6.7 diesel last week. That night i noticed that the passenger side map light was considerably dimmer than the drive side. Had to go back to the dealership 2 days later anyways to get a second key made. Showed the tech the light and he gave me 2 new bulbs to replace both lights with. Both were great for about a week but i noticed the passenger side has once again become dim....
View 1 RepliesI drive an '04 with about 86k. Shortly after I hit 85k i got into an accident that required both drivers side doors and the drivers window to be replaced. 2 weeks ago I noticed that my driver's window was excessively loud going up and slower to rise than the other windows. Upon closer inspection it seems that the rubber surround at the front part of the window gets bunched up requiring the motor to work harder to get the window all the way up. I fear that it is only a short time before the motor fails and the window becomes useless.
I plan to go back to the body shop and have them take a look at it. I am not fully sure if they caused the problem, my common sense tells me that the drivers window ought to be the first to fail, seeing as it gets used the most (garage tickets, drive throughs etc. But I am hesitant to replace the motor if the repairs were done improperly causing it to burn out). How much the motor runs? I am guessing that this will not be a cheap repair, but my hope is that the body shop will at least do the labor for free seeing as they replaced the window and the door and I now have this problem. I have to take the car back anyways, they replaced the fender and it is loose at the top.
I just started to have a problem with the passenger side window on my 2004 Solara coupe. When closing the window it has started going up too far and then the door will not close. It gets very little use so it seems like worn parts may be unlikely.
If I lower the window slightly I can see that the window appears to be adjusted properly front to back based on how it fits in the weather striping, it just started going up too high. When lowered slightly the door and window work fine.
I have a 99 Camry le 4door car. I recently bought a new motor and regulator. Reason being is the old one quit working one day. It rolled up just a little at a time then stopped before it closed completely. So I plugged the new assembly in to the harness and nothing. All other windows have power coming from the driver side cluster, door locks work fine as well. Passenger front window will do nothing from either switch.

I noticed after the car has been sitting for awhile, that it's quiet but when I decide to open the window and then close it it starts to rattle. Now this happens when driving over bumps or have the music turned up.
View 3 RepliesThe passenger window is making a grinding sound when going down. Sound starts after the window is about 50% down. There is no sound when the window goes up. From what I have been reading, it could be a motor going bad. There is no damage to the glass.
Does this sound like the motor will fail? I have a 100K extended warranty on the car which is soon going to run out. The warranty states that it covers the part but only in failure. Does this count as failure? Seems to be a bit of a gray area since the part is failing but the it is still funtional...
Will be taking the car to Toyota but wanted to get hear some thoughts before I did that.
I have some trouble with some rubber lining coming off my car, I'd like to re-attach it but don't know what kind of adhesive to use that is weatherproof and long lasting.
View 4 RepliesLong story short, the tint shop burned my exterior door pillar when I got it tinted like 8 months ago. Just now felt like dealing with it, so I got the new part in. How to replace it? The back has a lot of what looks like double sided tape and only 1 clip. In order to get the other one off it looks like I have to take off the chrome strip at the bottom since the black molding goes underneath the chrome...
