I just purchased a 2012 Camry, unfortunately the radio is the stock display audio unit, without navigation, satellite radio capability or Entune. Is it possible to upgrade these components and have them installed or would I need to replace the entire unit?
View 1 RepliesI had the basic Entune radio but recently upgraded to the Entune Audio Plus with navigation after talking with a tech at the dealership. I unfortunately don't have the audio tab at all, how to add it to my display. No one at the dealership knows how and they referred me to Toyota Corporate about my situation. Any button sequence that can add or delete tabs on the display?
View 9 RepliesCan change the order of the "Source" on the display? I very rarely use AM. I have to either press the arrow or view all options to see the "BT" option. I would like FM, BT, and Ipod to be the first options I see, when pressing the Source option.

View 1 RepliesI own a 2012 Camry and i just upgraded from the 17 inch to the 18 inch sport wheels. Do the tmps sensors have to be recalibrated because i get no readings. I thought the car should pick up on its own and show me tire pressure. The wheels came from a 2013 Camry.
View 6 RepliesMy fiance just bought a 2006 Avalon. Unfortunately she bought it certified used and it did not come with the JBL sound package. She is allowing me to upgrade her stock sound system.
What is the maximum size and mounting depth of the front and rear door speakers. Looking on Crutchfield, I would guess that both front and rear are 6-1/2" but I really need to know the mounting depth.
Is there any way to replace the stock nav system with something that is easier to use and more up to date and works? I did upgrade the disc and it's still a pain to use. My Iphone does a much better job, is easier to use. Also can upgrading the stock suspension on a 2003 SC 430, I got it a couple of months ago with 24000 miles but would like better handling but would like to keep the ride decent.
View 3 RepliesI bought my truck as a 2012 base XLT model, with no Sync and no audio control buttons on the right-hand side of the steering wheel. Since then, I have retrofitted in the stock navigation / audio system, added the Sync module, and installed a new steering wheel which came with the proper audio / sync controls on the right-hand side.
After installing the steering wheel, all of the buttons on both the left and right sides light up properly at night, and the controls on the left side for cruise and the message center still work fine. I had the dealer reprogram the SCCM to the VIN of a 2011 Lariat truck which had nav. However, they told me they could not get the wheel controls to work and ended up reprogramming the SCCM back to my VIN.
I would really like to get this to work. In consulting with the company that set me up with the navi and Sync, they said there may be some module which acts as a gateway between the SCCM and the audio system, but not really sure which module that is. Could be the BCM or the instrument cluster.
Today morning, when I started the car and backed out of the garage, the rear view camera display was not lit-up. Normally as I get out of the garage, it senses the change in outside lighting & changes the brightness of the display automatically.
After backing up, I put the car on Drive and then on Park, but the display was totally blank. No audio nor response by touching any buttons. Then I turned off the car & restarted it.
Then the display came up, but with this weird looking screen, which I have never seen before in the 5 months that I have owned this car..
It lasted for about 30-40 secs, with the progress bar moving all the way across. Then everything was back to normal!.
With the Display Audio Navigation system in my plugin base, I find that the traffic colors on the map don't appear automatically. Instead, I need to force the car to make a data connection by starting some other app. I use weather for this. Once I've started weather, I can switch back to map and immediately see the traffic-indication colors. If I just leave the display on map, traffic colors will not appear even after 20+ minutes of driving over the same route, so it's not a signal-strength/coverage problem. I've repeated these experiments numerous times with the same results.

View 10 RepliesI have a 2012 Camry se v6 lowered with eibach springs and I don't like how the stock rims sink in the fender. I was thinking about putting 20mm spacers on the front and 30mm on the rear that should put my rim lip flush to outside fender.
View 7 RepliesI bought and installed stock g37 wheels today and I get vibration at around 50mph+ ! Could this mean i need hub ring adapters?? I believe the offset is 45 on the new rims. They are 18s.
View 3 RepliesJust got my new 2012 GTI with touchscreen radio, I think it's the RCD-510. I've noticed with my iPod plugged into the MDI, all of a sudden, i can't actually browse by artist or album. I was able to browse by artist a few days ago when I first got it (I know this because I was putting on some beastie boys in honor of MCD passing), but as of yesterday when I try to browse by artist or album, instead of getting the list of artists or albums to select, the radio just goes back to the screen that shows whatever song is currently playing.
For some reason, I'm able to browse by playlist and song, but to by artist or album. I've tried unplugging the iPod (it's an iPod touch) to no avail.
I have a 2009 SEL 4 Motion w/ RNS 510, MDI.
I am very happy with the car apart from the quality of the sound system. Coming from Audi, BMW earlier being used to their premium systems, the Dynaudio in the Tiguan is not doing it for me. There is the lack of midrange dynamics and no punch in the low tones. What would be the best way to increase the quality w/o paying too much? Also, where in the Pennsylvania/New York area are there good shops that could do such job?
I have doing some modifications to my 14' Camry that include the following:
I saw on a Honda Civic one day a very deep blue bulb on his factory DRL's. I am assuming it's shared with his high beams? I loved the color and I'm not worried about sacrificing the high beam for this bulb. Looking for deep blue bulbs that are plug and play for my Camry? This is primarily for aesthetics.
I had a 2012 Camry but has not found the TPM display on it. It has fuel info and trip history when push the CAR button. I thought it should be there. How do I locate or set it up? Or it is not standard on LE?
View 4 RepliesSo need rims and a stereo upgrade. I am getting my Prius on the 28th and want to do the stereo upgrade immediately. My stereo shop here in Tampa is saying that they don't want to do more than 1 amp because the draw could be too much and give me problems with the electrical system. SO I wonder how much power all the things in the car take up while running and then how big an amp (or two) can I put in there? How many Amps (not amplifiers) do I have left over safely for use in upgrading the stereo?
I have a Pioneer Avic stereo (not sure the model at the moment but it does DVDs, CDs, and NAV. Has 5v pre-outs which are nice. I also want to run a set of

DLS Ultimate Iridium 6.3i components up front
6.5" woofer, 3" midrange, 1.1" tweeter. 100w RMS per channel
I thought to put the woofer in the door, the 3" in the dash like rrolff's squaker install (I have the NONJBL audio too). and tweeter in the stock location.
Rear:
Possibly component set in the rear doors but haven't really decided yet.
I have a set of 5.25-inch components that can go back there from DLS as well Figured why not use them. but if there are better ones out there I am not opposed to it.
The amps I am considering are both JL One is the HD 900/5 which is 100x4 + 500x1 or the XD 700/5 which is 75x4 + 300x1
I've got a 2007 with Nav and was thinking of replacing the head unit with an Alpine INE-W940 or something similar/better. I spoke to Crutchfield, and they told me that this install would make my MFD unusable, and I'd have a blank screen. I am not certain if the tech meant that it would be useless for navigation or radio/cd control, but still function for other uses like battery monitoring and consumption.
Even assuming that it would still function for car information, etc., I was wondering, using perhaps Lockpick 3 to mirror the display of an aftermarket head unit/nav system to the MFD. I'm thinking this would be a really useful hack.
Can Display Audio's phone interface accept pauses or waits (P or W) in the phone number? My phone uses them for voicemail passwords, eg dial the number, pause a few seconds, and then dial the password. So far it does not work at all through the bluetooth interface when initiated through voice command ("call xxx xxx xxxx pp yyyy#") or through the car's screen. I tried to directly store a similar number into the Display Audio "stored" numbers but could not find an option for the P pause.
View 6 RepliesSometimes in the bright sunlight, I cannot see the audio display or the small AC display that shows which vents the air is coming out from. Is there any way to illuminate these displays? Will some LEDs around them work or make it worse? I'm driving a C two. I have no intention of upgrading to an aftermarket sound system; I just want a simple inexpensive way to see the info on the screen.
