Corolla / Matrix 2009-13 :: Traction Control Beeping

I've got an 09 XRS. Every time I slide it in a corner the thing beeps to tell me I've slid and the traction control (or whatever they call it) has engaged. I know I can turn it all off but sometimes I don't want to come to a complete stop and sit there holding the button for 5 seconds, I just want to drive and don't really care if I slide around and get "saved" by my car. This morning I was driving in about 6" of fresh pud (heavy snow) on the road and it was driving me nuts. All I really want to do is make it stop beeping, it keeps waking my wife up. Is it possible to shut the damned thing up?

Corolla / Matrix 2009-13 :: Traction Control Light Won't Turn Off

So I'm having a problem, which I'm pretty sure is the switch. The traction control light won't turn off no matter how many times I've pressed the button. The orange light is really annoying now and I need to get it fixed. What should I do?

Corolla / Matrix 2009-13 :: Manual Transmission - VSC Off And Traction Control Lights Won't Go Out

Just purchased a 2009 Matrix XRS Manual transmission with 67,000 miles on it. I can't get the VSC Off and Traction lights on the panel to go out.

During our test drive, I had turned the system on and off to make sure it was working, and didn't seem to have any trouble with it.

I went to have it inspected yesterday. During the test, they hook up to the ODBII port to check emissions. The tech had trouble getting it connected the first time, saying the connection was going in and out. Eventually, they were able to get it connected properly and passed the inspection.

After they pulled the car out of the bay, the VSC Off and Traction lights were solid on, and they have been every time I've started the car since. Checking the manual, all I should have to do to turn the system back on is press the traction button, but that doesn't seem to be working at all. I also tried holding it down for 30 seconds or so with no luck.

The lights aren't flashing, so I don't think this is an error, I'm wondering if the computer got confused somehow with the ODBII port issues.

Stuff I've tried:

1. Followed these instructions for the Highlander Hybrid thinking maybe Toyotas will generally do this. That just caused most of the lights to flash on the panel and didn't bring up any VSC diagnostic messages.

2. I pulled the panel from the dash out to check to make sure the button was working, and I do get connectivity between the two outside pins while the button is pushed in.

how to get this to reset, or what the problem might be?

Corolla / Matrix 2009-13 :: 2010 - Disable Traction Control For More Than Just A Few Seconds?

Here is the deal I have an autocross event coming up this weekend, and a 2010 corolla with traction control. How can I disable the traction control for more than just a few seconds? It is strange that when I hit the button after about 15 seconds the traction control comes back on.

Corolla / Matrix 2009-13 :: Can't Find Location Of Speaker To Quit Beep

I am finding the physical location of the alarm speaker that beeps at the driver in the 2009 Corolla. I'd like to know because I want to rip the thing out. I don't need a device annoying me while I'm driving or just listening to music with the door open . I've partially taken apart my dash and could not locate the speaker.

Corolla / Matrix 2009-13 :: Beeping Noise Starts Immediately After Press The Unlock Button

I just got my '09 Corolla last night and it's doing something I'm not sure it is supposed to do. When I go out to my car I press the unlock button and open the door. A beeping noise starts immediately before the key is even in the ignition. When I do put the key in the beeping continues and does not stop until I close the door. The car I had before this was an '89 Corolla so I don't have any experience with these keyless entry things.

Corolla / Matrix 2009-13 :: 2012 Toyota LE - Radio Phone Button Showing Unavailable On Display

I just purchased a 2012 Toyota Corolla LE. The factory radio has a 'Phone' button on the right hand side of the radio. When I push the button, the display shows 'Unavailable.' What this button is for? With the Blu Logic kit, it has a separate phone button that mounts in the dash knockouts. Can the phone button on the radio be used instead?

Corolla / Matrix 2009-13 :: Temperature Control Cable Broken?

I have an 09 Corolla S. Back before winter, my heat control knob got real tight and felt like it broke loose inside one day. This left the heat control stuck in the red somewhere. Its way too expensive to have this fixed at Toyota. I ordered the heat control panel off Ebay, went to replace it yesterday, and it turns out the actual cable must be broke at the other end. When I tried to rewrap the cable around the knob, it has no tension and pops right back off.

My question: where this cable connects to on the car? How hard is it to replace and where do I find one?

Corolla / Matrix 2009-13 :: Vent Control Knob Is Not Working

Recently the control knob is not working. No matter what position I select it to, it comes out the top Vents. I took it to the dealership And they said the cable is severed and would cost around 700 to replace it. I was wondering if the cable is one like a rod that pushes the controller or if it is digital. Also I was wondering if I could just the middle of the dash to get to it or would the whole dash have to come out. I could do it myself if I can get to it from the middle.

Corolla / Matrix 2009-13 :: Check Engine On With Stability Control Flashing

So today I start my car, I get the check engine on (steady not flashing) and have stability control flashing with my traction control light on. I found out it could be the gas cap not on right so I removed it and screwed it on again, check engine light was still on though. However, after starting the car again after a drive it was gone .

I do turn off stability control sometimes if it's nice out?

Corolla / Matrix 2009-13 :: 2011 - ASWC Steering Wheel Control Unit?

The song/radio station will automatically switch on its own randomly without my intervention.

I emailed the company, and they said to have me ground the unit to the chassis (had it grounded to same ground as aftermarket Kenwood radio), which I grounded it to the factory radio bracket screw (didn't change anything). I am using the 8011 Metra harness, which they said works for 2011 Corollas.

They suggested using the harness that comes with the unit (which you would need to splice into factory wires to do, messy, undesirable, did not do).

So far, what I've done was replace JUST the control unit with a new one, and now it is less frequently switching (1-3times every other 45min car ride, as opposed to 1-3times each car ride). So the frequency is much, much less, but still occurring.

The company suggests trying to replace the harness with another 70-8114 harness (have not done).

What else could be the cause? I was thinking about putting aluminum foil over the unit to stop interference. .

Corolla / Matrix 2009-13 :: 2010 Cruise Control Installation Different Than 2007 Vehicle?

I installed an aftermarket cruise (Rostra) in my manual 2007 Corolla. Other than cutting the hole for the stalk the only real difficulty was getting my fat hands up under the dash to install the clutch disconnect switch. It certainly didn't involve any wire cutting or messing around with the ECM.

It's a long story, but through a sequence of events I have to opportunity to buy a 2010 base Corolla 5 speed at a pretty good deal. It also doesn't have a cruise control. I went tot eh Rostra website just to make sure cruise units are available and I looked at the installation instructions. Unless I read the wrong sheet, their instructions make it seem like installing cruise on a 2010 involves messing with the ECM wiring harness, moving connectors and a bunch of scary stuff like that.

It seems strange to me that the older car would be "plug and play" but a newer one would need changes to the main wiring harnesses. I'm not talking about a steering wheel mounted system where the clock spring has to be replaced, just a basic cruise.
