I had recently purchased a 2010 S used corolla , its a very good car but i'm facing a problem with my remote control , i have to get very close to the rear window so it responds, I had change the battery of the remote but problem still exists.
View 3 RepliesI had a 2006 Corolla S 1.8L automatic with 232,000+ miles that was taken away too early by two other cars making a sandwich out of it. It was still getting 32 -37 mpg consistently and about 370 - 390 miles per tank at least before I'd look for gas. I just replaced it with a '13 Corolla S 1.8L automatic and average out near 28 - 32 mpg (but it's winter). My issue is the readout on the gauges. I've got a 120 mile round trip for work daily (all highway). On the way home yesterday, gauge showed 1/4 tank and distance said 85 miles (enough to get home).
At about 26 miles left, yellow light came on. At gas station 19 miles left til empty (or so I thought), yellow light shut off and gas gauge went back up slightly off E. Filled her up and it only took 10.2 gallons after topping it off a couple times after the pump shut off. Distance traveled was about 320 miles on that tank so around 32 mpg. I'm o.k. with that but I thought these had the 13 gallon tank like my '06? Were there still 3 gallons in there and the sending unit may be bad or am I missing something? BTW car only has about 6600 miles on it as of right now.
I have a base model 2009 Corolla and I find that on long drives (anything over an hour) the seats become incredibly uncomfortable. I have developed back pain I did not have before I bought the car. My wife drives an 05 corolla and I have no problems with it (even on 5 hour drives) so I can only assume that Toyota cheap out on the newer generation's seats. I have tried many different cushions, lumbar supports, and seat heaters, but none of them work all that well. Adjusting the seating position does not work either. I installed cruise control and while that worked a bit, it was no solution.
View 14 RepliesI have a 2009 Toyota Corolla (It has a 1ZZFE engine). The car for a long time was a little problem when starting (long cranks and several tries before starting, but no check engine light at all), then, after adjusting the PVC hose for 3 days the car worked perfectly, but one week ago, in the morning when trying starting, it was impossible. I scanned and got a U0100 code, tested crankshaft position sensor and it is ok, tried with the other key but same result, only cranks, no start at all. After scanning, it started briefly and suddenly went off, tried again, and only cranks.

It happens when the tank is full and empty. The weather has ranged from 100 down to 60 degrees. The car has 20k miles on it and has had regular dealer servicing. What's going on with it? Otherwise it runs fine

View 13 RepliesNew owner of a used 2012 corolla. I only have one remote key. After digging through google and ebay. I brought a set of new remote keys with the known warning that I have to take it to the dealer for programming.
What tools to get to have this program by myself. It just cost too much over $150 from dealer just to program a key not counting over $250 dollar for the key itself.
Recently purchased a new 2012 Corolla S and when hitting the lock button and unlock button not only does the car chip but the horn honks. I think this sucks. How can I stop that from happening.
View 7 RepliesI, like many, have had issues with my aux jack and decided to have it replaced with an aftermarket device. My aftermarket device plugs into the rear of the radio in place of the OEM aux harness. After removed the old OEM aux harness and installed the new one and put everything back together i had a problem.
The new AUX also comes with a USB slot as well and it all works properly, thats not the issue.
The issue is that my keyless remote has intermittently stopped working. I got out to lock the doors with the remote and nothing happened. I had no time to fiddle with it so i locked the doors via the keyhole and left it. The next time to went to my car, i tried to use the keyless and voila it worked! it locked AND unlocked. I was releived that it worked. Unfortunately once i drove and parked and tried to lock again - it didnt work . Needless to say it doesn't always work, ususally if i lock the doors with the key and come back more then 30 minutes, it unlocks keylessly.
The remote LED light turns on when i press any of the buttons so i know the battery is fine. I already opened the remote and confirmed the contacts are working properly. The only thing i haven't tried to do is reprogram the keyless remote (which i dont think is necessary).
Random symptoms - there are 3 circular dials (fan control, fan speed, temperature control) in the centre console. Originally ONLY the center dials LED lights would turn on. Now randomly the 3rd dials LED lights turn on again. I wanna start checking fuses but would like to know where to start.
i just bought my 2nd hand 2009 corolla recently and i notice that my door remote is not working if the engine is in running condition.
let say i park my car in front of the mini store to buy something, i don't want to shut off the engine so that the inside of the car is still cold when i comeback after a few minutes. (by the way, i am here in saudi arabia...gasoline here are much cheaper that everywhere else).
the problem is, when i use my remote to lock the door...it wont work...unlike my previous cars, door remotes are working even the engine is on or off...
is there any settings from the computer or do i just have to do something from the inside of the car..
I want to disable that beep beep sound when you lock or unlock the vehicle with the remote. Does this can be disable?
On my previous Nissan Altima, you can toggle this feature by pressing the lock+unlock simultaneously. I tried that on the Corolla, it does not work.
I have an 07 350 without the navi system. Is it possible to add the sensors that detect how close you are getting to a car in front (or behind) you?
View 10 Replies2009 Civic has an intermittent ac during long distance trips. About 1hour into a trip it feels warm I turn the blower up higher. I can turn it to the highest setting and it sounds like it's blowing at full blast but no air is coming out at all. I turn the ac off completely for 45 mins to an hour to "thaw" then it comes back on. Dealer had it 6 times now only once they were able to replicate the problem. The blower motor, expansion valve & termistor have been replaced.
View 4 RepliesI'm having a problem with my remote lock/alarm system in my 2010 Corolla LE. The driver door suddenly stopped locking and unlocking with the remote. The other 3 doors work fine, but the driver door won't work. When I lock the driver door with the key and press the lock button, everything locks and unlocks like normal. If I wait awhile and try to unlock the doors again, the driver door lock again won't work.
View 1 RepliesI've got an 09 XRS. Every time I slide it in a corner the thing beeps to tell me I've slid and the traction control (or whatever they call it) has engaged. I know I can turn it all off but sometimes I don't want to come to a complete stop and sit there holding the button for 5 seconds, I just want to drive and don't really care if I slide around and get "saved" by my car. This morning I was driving in about 6" of fresh pud (heavy snow) on the road and it was driving me nuts. All I really want to do is make it stop beeping, it keeps waking my wife up. Is it possible to shut the damned thing up?

View 14 RepliesI have an 09 Corolla S. Back before winter, my heat control knob got real tight and felt like it broke loose inside one day. This left the heat control stuck in the red somewhere. Its way too expensive to have this fixed at Toyota. I ordered the heat control panel off Ebay, went to replace it yesterday, and it turns out the actual cable must be broke at the other end. When I tried to rewrap the cable around the knob, it has no tension and pops right back off.
My question: where this cable connects to on the car? How hard is it to replace and where do I find one?
So I'm having a problem, which I'm pretty sure is the switch. The traction control light won't turn off no matter how many times I've pressed the button. The orange light is really annoying now and I need to get it fixed. What should I do?

View 3 RepliesRecently the control knob is not working. No matter what position I select it to, it comes out the top Vents. I took it to the dealership And they said the cable is severed and would cost around 700 to replace it. I was wondering if the cable is one like a rod that pushes the controller or if it is digital. Also I was wondering if I could just the middle of the dash to get to it or would the whole dash have to come out. I could do it myself if I can get to it from the middle.
