I have a 04 F350 Dually and I am not getting any oil to my high oil pressure. Truck will crank but won't turn over. The high oil pressure pump is fine. What am I missing?

View 4 RepliesMy new 2016 F350 6.7, every single time I start the truck, I get the low oil pressure light. Even after letting the truck idle. I'm concerned because I have no gauge inside to see what it's running and I also have what sounds like a can of rocks noise at idle and when I'm slowly accelerating I hear a clacking noise. Is this normal or should I be headed to the stealership? Truck only has 1100 miles. I've owned it 3 weeks and this is really making me wonder. I forgot to add that I'm in Louisiana and it's not often really cold. It was 84 today and I had the same thing. Even after I drove it and turned it off. Started it back up, same light.
View 14 RepliesTruck has a high oil pressure leak, only leak i have found is in the high pressure rail, I cannot get to it till sat, or sunday. So I have to let the oil cool before I can start. Any way testing to find the right temp for Oil to thicken enough to Build? I've been here for hours and its went from 180's to about 100 now...
View 3 RepliesI have a High pressure oil leak somewhere, and where it can be. I tore the oil rails out and replaced the nipple cup seals last night. I got it all back together and air tested it and sure enough a leak is present. I have no problem paying for your time (I always provide good beer). I can rebuild gas motors all day long, but these diesels has me thrown for a loop. The frustration I am experiencing is crazy at this point. All the injectors are new, and the dummy plugs and standpipes were replaced as well.
View 11 RepliesI am new to the FTE world but not to diesels my 2012 f350 is my second diesel and a couple weeks ago I got home from work and fell asleep and forgot to plug in my pickup and it gelled up (was about 15degrees when I fell asleep and -20 when I woke up) so all the filters were replaced and everything was good after that for about a week, then my fass platinum pump started blowing the 30a fuse every 10 seconds and The pump itself smelled burnt so I replaced it with the same style and size of pump and the pump is good now but the truck is a no start it has thrown codes p2291, p0089, p0091, and p228e. It has 4inch straight exhaust, fully deleted (def and egr), h&s tuned, fass platinum 125 lift pump.
View 14 RepliesI have replaced hpop, lpop gears and cover, stand pipes, dummy plugs, rebuilt high pressure rails, and i still have issues. The icp readings on torque pro are mostly below 100 hot. I am clueless... I ordered the icp air fitting but it wont be here until tuesday.
View 9 RepliesI was watching a tv show a while back, I cant find the episode but I think it was performance tv, and they had a 6.0 L expert on there and he was saying they see a lot of high pressure oil rail end caps come loose and or pop out. He was saying that they tap/thread the end of the oil rail and put a threaded in cap? Does it make any sense, can it be done, is it worth doing?
View 14 RepliesMy 03' 6.0l hpop only makes about 1700 psi at wot, at hot idle the ipr is 25.1 and the icp is about 580. It runs pretty good but it seems the crank time to start is getting a little longer sometimes, other times it fires right up. It makes no difference if its hot or cold. Do pumps get weak or do you think I have a leak?....

View 14 RepliesProbably needs to get, f I had a part number for the A/C high pressure cutoff switch, and the 4 wire connector (2006 MY)? I guess for the 6.0L it is actually called "Dual Function Pressure Switch, DFPS".
Was dealing with some chaffing and wanted to add to my "parts list spreadsheet".
Base numbers:
A/C high pressure cutoff switch: 19D594
A/C cycling switch: 19E561
Found the clutch connector part number: Aftermarket - DD1085
Probably need to call this thread "I hate electrical problems also!"
On my 2005 F350 Super duty 6.0 Power Stroke Diesel I have extremely high oil temps when towing and also have a warm start problem. I need to tackle both these problems at the same time but I am struggling to find the correct (and still affordable) parts for this. My local parts store and Ford dealer are way over priced.
First, I need an oil cooler (truck has an EGR delete so no EGR cooler).
Second, I want to replace all the seals in the high pressure oil system and replace the HPOP elbow.(Already replaced IPR)
Third, I would like to do the Blue Spring update as well while I am in there.
Looking for part numbers or kits numbers. I usually do all my own research but right now I am way too swamped at work and home to find these parts.
Was driving my truck normal, got to a stop and the truck staring to idle high and like stuck on third gear and also the tow light (over drive) started to flashing Is like the truck put it self on safe mod. Drove it back home but couldn't do more than 55 miles n hour so I didn't hurt the trans.

View 6 RepliesGot in my 06 F350 dually 2 weeks ago and after start up had no instrument indications. Truck ran great, flat line on panel. Tow haul light out also. Drove it for appx 5 miles, shazam all start working and then they cycled on and off for a while. After 10 miles, came on solid. Happened again at a later date.
Here's what I discovered. I noticed high voltage on my Scangage II. As in 16.2VDC. Monitored it coming back from a hunt. 14.9-15.5VDC. Would blank out only after hitting 16.2VDC. I'm suspecting there might be a cutout to protect the instrument cluster from damage.
Installed a new alternator on Friday the 13th. Drove home this weekend, 4 hours and no problems. Hopefully didn't boil off the batteries. Now 13.5-13.9VDC ... Just something to be aware of!!
I've been watching fluid build up on what I think is the hi-pressure line on the hydroboost. It appears to be originating at the coupling in the line because it is dry back at the unit.
Is there an o-ring or nylon washer in this fitting?
Can it be tightened?
Does the o-ring or washer need to be replaced?
Is it a sign of something else, like a build up of pressure in the line that is too high?
I currently have zero problems or noise coming from the steering or brake system.
I am doing heads studs and gaskets on the truck. I forgot to remove the stand pipe and started to lift the head off the truck with the engine jack. Well i bent the stand pipe and the port to the bock was a little loose. Tightened it back down and it seems ok. Could I have damaged anything by doing that? how is that all connected to the high pressure oil pump? I just want to make sure i didnt damage anything by doing that and since im already here I would rather make a fix instead of needed to tear down again.
View 5 RepliesRecently my 2011 F-250 Diesel with 21,000 miles seemed to start hard one morning. After starting the truck it ran well that day and started fine. The next morning it would not start. Had it taken to the dealer and they went to work. Started at the fuel filters and replaced low pressure fuel pump. Thought a piece of the defective pump had moved up fuel line. Removed high pressure pump and found signs of rust. All regular service intervals have been met. Didn't see this coming. No water in fuel light or other warning.
View 14 RepliesOk 2004 6.0. Recent work done is changed the number 8 injector. Thing was running great. Driving down the highway on a slight grade. Heard a pop and no power at all. Didn't see any smoke. Run the scanner get codes for ICP pressure and ICP pressure long crank. Icp pressure shows zero with ICP volts at .8. IPR climbs to 85%. Obviously need to check where I lost did work?
View 12 RepliesI have a 2004 late model 6.0. My son was driving it and parked it in the road told him move it and it wouldn't start. I got it to start and it ran for about 10 seconds. I pushed it in the drive way and left it over night. In the morning there was oil on the driveway. I found that there was the wrong oil filter put in and there is no oil pressure at start up and no oil entering the filter housing. Where to start would be great. I am going to get a Scangauge II to get more information. Could be the ICP?
View 4 RepliesI have an 04 f-350 that I did an EGR delete, new Ford oil cooler, new radiator (not ford), new thermostat (not ford), coolant filter, glow plugs and harness, MBRP theoretical 4in downpipe (was 3.5 to converter) flushed cooling system with lots of tap water before the delete, replaced coolant with Cat 1 ELC and distilled water, fresh T6 5W-40 and filter, several weeks ago. Was troubleshooting a wireing problem and found what looks like oil sludge in the degass bottle while under the hood.
Possible that while doing EGR delete I clipped a gasket? Truck runs great, no smoke out the tail pipe. There is what looks like about a cup floating on top the coolant. Oil level is down about a 1/2 quart and clean, no water in it. Where do I start looking?
