So my 2012 rearview camera was super clear and this 2013 is super blurry! Only difference is that this one has has MyFordTouch with no nav. The 12 had the nav option. Camera lens its self looks clean.
Oh yeah and the thing automatically autoplays my voicemails as soon as I start the truck and I hate that it does that. Can't figure out how to get that from happening.
2013 F350 Lariat with the factory OEM rear view camera. I am replacing the tailgate with a 5th wheel tailgate for a few months and would like to still retain the convince of a rear view camera.
I have obtained a Ford camera harness to use as a jumper for a non OEM camera which comes with the standard basic RCA wiring which I plan to mount to the bottom of the 5th wheel tailgate.
My hope is to wire the camera direct to the Ford wire harness which is a 6 wire pigtail. Which wires on the camera mate to which wire on the trucks wire harness.
Was wondering if there is a way to adjust the view angle of the back-up camera? Mine appears to be a little off center.
View 6 Replies2002 F250 diesel ... I found these two plastic pieces yesterday on the floor near the 4X4 shifter. I noticed the other day when i step on the brake the rear view camera in the head unit comes on, so i am thinking they are either a part of the brake switch on the pedal assembly, or something to do with the shift tube.
View 2 RepliesI'm putting a new double din stereo w/ backup camera in my truck, I have everything wired except the violet/white wire (from the stereo) that needs to be hooked to a wire (on the truck) that will activate the camera when you put it in reverse. I cannot figure where this wire is on the 2012 for the life of me.

Having just taken delivery of a pip I am wondering if there is any way to turn on the rear view camera when you are moving forward? It would actually provide better vision over the rear view mirror.
View 12 RepliesToday morning, when I started the car and backed out of the garage, the rear view camera display was not lit-up. Normally as I get out of the garage, it senses the change in outside lighting & changes the brightness of the display automatically.
After backing up, I put the car on Drive and then on Park, but the display was totally blank. No audio nor response by touching any buttons. Then I turned off the car & restarted it.
Then the display came up, but with this weird looking screen, which I have never seen before in the 5 months that I have owned this car..
It lasted for about 30-40 secs, with the progress bar moving all the way across. Then everything was back to normal!.
Having issue with their reverse camera being blurry? I saw an earlier thread but it didn't yield much info rather than go to the dealer, which I don't mind as I have a warranty but a DIY is always nice. Anyway, its blurry/out of focus as if my contacts were removed, the yellow lines are clean though. Any fix or way to re-calibrate the camera?
View 8 RepliesIn my 6 day old Golf TSI, I'm noticing the rearview camera is quite noisy when it deploys and retracts. I don't recall how it sounded during test drives, but I'm surprised I can hear it at all, let alone as loudly as it seems.
Likely normal, but thought I'd post this up to see what others are experiencing. Might drop by the dealership and check another one out for comparison.
Picked up a mk6 tdi a couple weeks ago (my first vw), and yesterday my rear view camera started acting up. And by acting up I mean, the screen only displays black, and the camera is stuck open, protruding under the badge and will not close. I've checked to make sure everything is still plugged in, and it is. I'm not exactly sure what to try next?

It has started to not come on until about 10 seconds after I have placed the car in reverse and once it does turn on, the video quality is bad. I know there are issues with the RNS510 and warm up time, but I am not using the RNS510. Here is what I have:

I installed it myself many months ago and checked the wiring and all seems fine. However, I did notice that if I unplug the 4 pin harness near the camera (video feed, not the ground, power and reverse trigger) and then plug it back in, the camera then works instantly when I put the car in reverse and the video image quality returns. However, then it only works for about 3 or 4 times (individual times when I put the vehicle in reverse) and then I am back to a 10 second wait and bad video quality.
I just got back from being gone awhile to find that my rear view camera has stopped working. I get a message that says "rear view camera system is currently unavailable" when I put the car in reverse.
The camera does come out like it should so I'm guessing it's something to do with wiring maybe a short or something. I have a 2014 RCD-510 with the camera input...
Just bought a new Tiguan 2013 for my wife, which has the rear view camera. However upon reversing, there's no beeping to warn you that you're about to hit something.. Shouldn't that be the case?
My only experience of rear view camera's are on rentals and they've always beeped when something is in view.
Is there a way to take the rear view camera input and add a DVD player and " trick" the screen to think it's in reverse so I can play a DVD on a no ml system .? But I can up on a great black on black 08 with low miles and decided to get it and try to figure out a way to do this later.

View 14 RepliesWent to back out of the driveway yesterday and no picture on my nav screen. It switched to the camera screen but it is just black. I unplugged the connection at the rear of the truck before the tailgate and plugged it back in. Everything seemed fine with the connection. I also have a lock pick installed but if I remember correctly the camera still plugs directly into the nav unit.
