I see many cars have the parking lines move when you have your steering wheel turn, i thought it might be a feature we have to turn. I cannot find anything in the manual or through search...
View 14 RepliesI installed rvc couple of months ago. When I put in reverse, only shows straight yellow lines on screen. Is there any way to activate to lines turn with steering wheel (like cars with parking sensors)? I was wondering if there is Vag_com trick available for this option.
View 7 RepliesIs there a way to take the rear view camera input and add a DVD player and " trick" the screen to think it's in reverse so I can play a DVD on a no ml system .? But I can up on a great black on black 08 with low miles and decided to get it and try to figure out a way to do this later.

Today morning, when I started the car and backed out of the garage, the rear view camera display was not lit-up. Normally as I get out of the garage, it senses the change in outside lighting & changes the brightness of the display automatically.
After backing up, I put the car on Drive and then on Park, but the display was totally blank. No audio nor response by touching any buttons. Then I turned off the car & restarted it.
Then the display came up, but with this weird looking screen, which I have never seen before in the 5 months that I have owned this car..
It lasted for about 30-40 secs, with the progress bar moving all the way across. Then everything was back to normal!.
I was wondering if there is any way to easily adjust the parking brake so it bites tighter. I took it to Lexus of Pohanka and they told me that it's normal in a Lexus car to have to press the parking brake all the way to the carpet to get it to engage. I immediately debunked this when I recieved a loaner and engaged the parking brake and it grabs a lot sooner.
View 6 RepliesIn my 6 day old Golf TSI, I'm noticing the rearview camera is quite noisy when it deploys and retracts. I don't recall how it sounded during test drives, but I'm surprised I can hear it at all, let alone as loudly as it seems.
Likely normal, but thought I'd post this up to see what others are experiencing. Might drop by the dealership and check another one out for comparison.
Picked up a mk6 tdi a couple weeks ago (my first vw), and yesterday my rear view camera started acting up. And by acting up I mean, the screen only displays black, and the camera is stuck open, protruding under the badge and will not close. I've checked to make sure everything is still plugged in, and it is. I'm not exactly sure what to try next?

View 4 RepliesI have just started having an issue with my rear view camera. It has started to not come on until about 10 seconds after I have placed the car in reverse and once it does turn on, the video quality is bad. I know there are issues with the RNS510 and warm up time, but I am not using the RNS510. Here is what I have:

I installed it myself many months ago and checked the wiring and all seems fine. However, I did notice that if I unplug the 4 pin harness near the camera (video feed, not the ground, power and reverse trigger) and then plug it back in, the camera then works instantly when I put the car in reverse and the video image quality returns. However, then it only works for about 3 or 4 times (individual times when I put the vehicle in reverse) and then I am back to a 10 second wait and bad video quality.
I just got back from being gone awhile to find that my rear view camera has stopped working. I get a message that says "rear view camera system is currently unavailable" when I put the car in reverse.
The camera does come out like it should so I'm guessing it's something to do with wiring maybe a short or something. I have a 2014 RCD-510 with the camera input...
Just bought a new Tiguan 2013 for my wife, which has the rear view camera. However upon reversing, there's no beeping to warn you that you're about to hit something.. Shouldn't that be the case?
My only experience of rear view camera's are on rentals and they've always beeped when something is in view.
Seeing that there is no tech area for the plug-in area of the forum, I must ask this somewhat general question here. Having just taken delivery of a pip I am wondering if there is any way to turn on the rear view camera when you are moving forward? It would actually provide better vision over the rear view mirror.

Whenever the wife drives my car she adjusts the rear rear view window which means I have to adjust it when I get it back. Each time the mirror is adjusted the rear view camera in the mirror gets the blue screen of death. A little later the rear view mirror will start working again.

View 9 RepliesSo my 2012 rearview camera was super clear and this 2013 is super blurry! Only difference is that this one has has MyFordTouch with no nav. The 12 had the nav option. Camera lens its self looks clean.
Oh yeah and the thing automatically autoplays my voicemails as soon as I start the truck and I hate that it does that. Can't figure out how to get that from happening.
