Im new to the forum and have a 96 extended aerostar. My question ia has any one made custom front interior door panels. Mine are badly broken up and I feel beyond repair.

My passenger side rear door handle does not work. My mechanic fixed it once, said the cable had jumped off the pulley. I figured it can't be that difficult to fix if I can get the door panel off.
I've got a 2006 F250 5.4l Super Cab. When I bought the truck the rear interior door trim panels were missing. I tried to order them straight from ford but it turns out they no longer carry them, and I can't seem to find them anywhere online. I've also looked at the salvage yards in my area- nothing. Where I would be able to find these elusive creatures?
View 3 RepliesWill interior door panels from a '91 Aerostar fit a '96? No power windows or locks. The panels in our '96 are busted and I found a good set in the salvage yard in a '91. Lady at salvage yard says they're different, but I'm not so sure. Also, will the windshields swap?
View 3 RepliesI thought this might be a little difficult but it wasn't at all. Simplest door panel that I've ever pulled off.
first remove the panel that goes around the door handle, gently pry it up in the front where the speaker grill meets the panel, use a couple of flat head screw drivers for this. It will pop up once the tabs are released, then you can remove it.
Then remove the window/lock control panel, the front of this will need to be gently pulled up and then you can remove it by sliding it forward. Don't pry up on the rear or you can break the tab off. Unplug the three wire connectors/plugs. A small flat head will work with this.
Remove one 7mm screw behind the panel that you just removed, then remove the two 7mm screws on the very bottom of the door panel.
Now simply lift the door panel straight up and then outward, remove the last wire connector for the power mirrors & it's off.
I also replaced the outside door handle & lock assembly. It was very easy as well. just a 12mm socket, 1/4" drive ratchet & small flat head screw driver.
BTW, most also have the same problem mine has, rust cancer of the lower panels! One shorty I saw, the lower panels were not even there anymore! Just jagged, rusty metal that started 1/3 of the way up the body of the van!!
View 14 RepliesI found the tutorial on removing the rear door panel, but I could not get the front door panel removed. I worked on it and got the 3 screws out, but I tried pulling and heard a snap so I might have already broke a clip.

View 10 RepliesDid some searching but didn't find anything on how to replace the driver's side front window glass. Someone decided they liked my GPS unit more than I did while I was at work. Smashed out my driver's side window and took it. Now to replace that window. I did manage to find a replacement window.
Pulled off the door panel and now I'm trying to install the glass. Anything I try though, I can't seem to get the glass back into the tracks. Does anything inside the door need to be removed before I can install the glass back into the tracks? Such as the window motor/regulator assembly? On the left side of the drivers door towards the bottom, there is also another small alignment track. Does this need to be removed as well?
I had a couple of trouble spots on the driver side where my shoe caught the trim and left black scuff marks.

I am planning on building one that exits through the large hole in the middle of the bumper, similar to the 99-07 style. I will use it for my custom generator mount and/or a small winch.
So I bought a set of 05 towing mirrors today, got them installed and need to get the door panels off so I can disconnect the wire clip. I figured I would swap out the speakers while in there too so I assume 6X9? Also when I click the keyless entry button on the remote it unlocks all the doors but the driver door. The lock moves a little so I know it's getting a little tug but I still have to use the key to open it. What can I do to fix this?
View 10 RepliesI'm wanting to update my door panels to the 2008 or 2011. I know I can change out the center console but I'm not sure what years work. The bottoms of my doors are rusted out and I believe it makes more sense to buy the doors than repair them. I would love to know if the newer model SD's are the same design as the pre-2008s.

View 14 RepliesSo I have an 03 wolfsburg, when my car is on and I open either the front driver or front passenger door the lights on the interior don't come on. Is this normal? I could have sworn they did before and on my 01 1.8t GLS, but if I open the any of the rear doors the lights come on...
I just got an LED interior kit, but haven't got it in the mail yet, so it is still on the stock bulbs from the factory, is it a dual filament bulb that just needs replacing?
The rear doors on my super cab rattle like there is no tomorrow. It is the panels rattling. There has been a lot of discussion about the doors and the way they latch being the problem with the typical rattle and cluck doors.
Have to take off the panels to see if they can be dampened in anyway? Where are the fasteners keeping the panel on?
I am about to take the panel off and leave them off. Some days I laugh, some days I cry. My truck has 90K miles on it and they have clanged and banged since day one.
My white 96 is for sale...Parked it for two months and now no nothing.. It runs but thats it...fuse 12 no power...
