Girlfriend's Escape is leaking from the front passenger side. I can see where the fluid is coming from, and hear a hiss when the brake is applied.
I think she just needs the one line replaced- what's a ball park cost?
I just bought a 2010 3.0 V6. Oil is leaking down the engine on the rear passenger side of the engine. It starts near the top. I replaced the rear valve cover gasket but it still leaks. I am concluding that it must be the timing chain cover. I can't find any info on how to diagnose and how to repair.

Jumped the passenger front door? If so, which wires did you jump? Want to jump the 06 Escape doors, just don't want to short anything out...
Its been awhile since I have been on. Everything has been running great for me until I found my passenger side front axle leaking fluid. I'm sure something has been posted on here but I have limited access to internet right now and need to know what I am getting into to change the seals. From what I have found there is an inner seal in the pumpkin and then an outer seal and dust cover. Are both of these easy to change? Are there any special tools needed? Do I need to remove the gears in the pumpkin? If so, is this difficult and any special tools required for this?
Mine is a 2001 V10-6.8, 4x4 no mods at this point.
Working on a 2000 F150 with the 5.4 and as near as I can determine its leaking antifreeze externally at the front of the passenger side head gasket. Seems a little odd. The coolant is a nasty dirty orange color. With the truck running on the hoist it was dripping very steady off of the very front exhaust manifold bolt.

Its not leaking on the ground leaving a puddle its some type of build up. What could it be from? When in service for oil changes service never noticed anything. I am due for 15,000 oil change and want to have it checked.
View 1 RepliesSo this morning is just getting better and better. Was coming back in from getting the mail and noticed a small puddle under the passenger side tire/wheel area.
I never ever have a puddle of any sort in my drive way so...I start crawling around the truck and this is what I find. I can free spin the dust seal, but its all the fluid that has be worried. With less then 4 days till I have to haul everyone to the airport this is not what I need.
IF (man I feel stupid for asking) IF I leave it in 2 wheel drive how big of an issue would it be to drive it?
None of the parts will be in before I have to drive everyone out to the airport, this is the only reason I'm even considering this..
Plus would this explain a sudden lost of MPG?
On my 2003 Excursion 7.3L, I notticed I'm leaking what I think is coolant from the passenger side rear hard line by the front spring hanger. I haven't pealed the plastic loom away yet, but I did see the loom is chaffed near the spring hanger. What lines are the ones that carry coolant, and can I just cut the hard lines and replace with a section of rubber hose?

Once in a while i get to park my car in a garage and each time i have noticed that there is a smell of smoke when i get out of the car, (none in the cabin) kind of like a burning rubber almost. If I go on a long trip and then close the garage it actually fills up the garage with a whitish smoke. I put down some cardboard and found about 3 or 4 drops of oil up near the front of the car on the passenger side, checked the drain plug and its fine. I know that its not a lot at all but some leakage none the less.

I cleaned it up thinking the sunroof may not have been closed all the way at the dealership when they washed it. I drove it today in the rain and the front passenger side is wet again next to the console and near the seat. Where are the drains located at?
View 8 RepliesSo I just bought this escape last month with 93k on it and just realized the moonroof is leaking onto the passenger seat. I hope it's these drains I've read a little about. Where they're located or where they empty and the best way to clean them. Hopefully it's warm enough for any ice in them to melt today so I can try that first.
View 2 RepliesI owned a 99 f250 a little while ago. Just bought a 2006 crewcab F150 xlt about 2 months ago, and for the past month there has been this unusual grinding or whirring like noise coming from the front passenger side wheel.
I took it to the mechanic and he found a bad wheel bearing on drivers side and replaced it but that wasn't the issue. He could hear the noise but wasn't able to figure out what the actual issue was.
The noise only happens when my foot is on the throttle. (not when coasting) and i also just discovered that it doesn't make any noise at all when put in 4x4.
I have a 2005 Ford Escape. I recently have heard a clinking noise coming from under the hood of the passenger side. It is located near the belt, but sounds as if it is in the engine itself. The noise does not stay in one place either. Same location, just moves around. It honestly sounds like a penny is clinking around inside the engine. What this is?

I don't have air tools or do too much work myself, I just do the typical stuff on my own, oil changes, brake replacement, stuff like that...how hard is this job?
View 11 RepliesI just bought a 2006 Sonata GLS V6 for my daughter to commute back and forth to college.
The car rides like a dream and has plenty of pep, but I had this annoying squeak when you go over bumps. It looks like the upper strut mount has a lot of play in it when you shake the car up and down, so I ordered 2 from Rock Auto. the left side feels and looks solid.
But I just read an article on the upper control arm replacement and wonder if that not my real problem here.

View 1 RepliesSo I just replaced the front rotors and brake pads on my 06 Sonata. Before I replaced them, the front passenger side had a clicking sound coming from it when I turned. So I thought this whole time that I needed a new CV joint. But after I replaced the rotors and pads I took it for a test drive and I noticed that the clicking noise was gone! So I guess my question is, can bad brake pads and rotors cause a clicking sound when turning?
View 4 RepliesI was just changing the oil on my wifes 2008 Escape and noticed a oil leak. At first I thought it was an oil pan gasket,But its higher than that. Then I thought maybe an axle boot but it's also higher than that. It's on the passenger side about the middle of the engine right under neath the biggest pulley.
Its a cylinder shape mold coming off the engine about an inch long with a bolt on the end of it. I'm not seeing oil any higher than that and seems to be coming from there from what I can see. Is this something common with the Escapes?The truck has 55,650 miles on it and this is the first issue so far.The wifes first escape we traded for this was an 01 with 200,000.
