How to replace a front (passenger side) fog light bulb on a 2006? I removed the plastic cover and see several screws. There are no instructions in the manual.
View 1 RepliesMy passenger side headlight was out so I replaced what I thought was the offending bulb, but the light still won't turn on. The parking light turns on fine, as do all the other lights. I really don't want to hear that I have a wiring issue which would require a trip to the shop.
View 5 RepliesDriving to work this morning my 'please check lights' warning came on and sure enough my drivers side side light bulb seems to have failed.
Trying to look via search and many threads to see how much work is involved to replace this tiny bulb. The car is due a service shortly and i could get the VW dealer to sort this out but is this going to be something daft like 3hours labour/bumper removal or is it an easy DIY?
This is the first thing to 'fail' in 2.5 years of owenership and not one that needs immediate remedy but would like to sort it out. Presumably i can buy the bulb cheaply enough from VW or Halfords as its not HID etc.
I have yellow tinted fog lights on my Camry, but they weren't a dark enough yellow for me, so I decided to install some yellow Nokya 2500k bulbs as well. They seem to have installed fine, but the driver side bulb shines a lot brighter than the passenger side one:
View 6 RepliesBeen about 3 months now trying to figure out my issue in my 2006 passat 2.0t the front passenger low beam bulb keeps going out no matter what kind of bulb I use. They last for a week or two then burn out .When the do burn out they actually blow into pieces the only thing left are the wires in the bulb checked into everything I could think of looked at the plug of where the bulb plugs in checked the wires that connect to it ran as far as I could follow in the engine compartment all the wires seemed fine. And there's no moisture getting into the headlamp assembly.
View 9 RepliesI have 04 Passat and my passenger side fog light bulb keeps blowing up I had to replace it 4 times already. Same thing happened when I upgraded to PIAA H3 yellow bulbs as well. I checked all connections, wiring and everything looks ok.

The back ground on my truck (see sig) is that I am the second owner (my former neighbor was the first) and it has 293K miles on it at the time of this post. The truck is bone stock FWIW.
I searched the internet and couldn't find a good step by step replacement write up. The front oxygen sensor on the passenger side is hard to get to so here is what I did:
Jacked the truck up and placed jack stands under it. Removed the front passenger tire and the plastic wheel well liner.
Tools needed for this part are a 7/32 socket and a trim tool remover (for the plastic push in fittings).
There are 5 screws and 3 or 4 plastic push retainers (don't know actual term) to remove.
Because of the location of the sensor I had to remove the transmission dipstick tube. *If you do this have a pan or bucket under this area as you are going to lose fluid* the dipstick tube is held place by an 8mm bolt about the middle of the exhaust manifold. Unscrew it and with a little pressure the tube will pop up and out, and so will some fluid.
Wheel well liner out and dipstick tube pulled out of the way.
The connector where you will disconnect the old 02 sensor is tucked up behind the engine block and is kind of hard to get to. A little time and patience and you can get it separated.
From underneath the truck I cut the end off of the old 02 sensor (because the closed end of the wrench wouldn't fit over it) and used a 7/8 box wrench to unloosen the sensor a little at a time until I could get it out with my fingers.
I put the new 02 sensor in finger tight and then tightened it down with small turns of the 7/8 wrench until tight
The cord on the new sensor is longer than the factory one so once reconnected I used zip ties to keep the slack up and away from the hot parts.
New 02 sensor installed and dip stick tube back in place. Note the attachment approx 1/2 down the dipstick tube. It is the 8mm bolt I previously mentioned.
Wheel well back in place. Truck lowered back to the ground.
At first the passenger side front parking light would randomly not turn on until you gave the light assembly a hard tap. Now I am having the same problem with the driver side low beam light. I checked the harness connector and it clicks firmly into place. So, I am guessing there's something not grounded properly somewhere on the light assembly. I'm hoping that a light film of dielectric grease will work but I can't tell where to put it.
View 1 RepliesI am trying to replace the rear light bulb (top of two) on the passenger side. It doesn't illuminate when I press the brake. What kind of light bulb does it take?? There is a removable compartment but I am having a hard time removing the harness where the bulbs are located . I see two clips but I still can not pull it out to access the defective bulb.

I pulled the wiring schematic and on the connector i have a h13 bulb with 3 pins for high and low beams. i have voltage when the low beans are on one wire WHT/TAN 10.9 volts (car off) and WHT/GRY is 10.99 volts (car off) the center connector is the ground, when i check the other side that is full functioning i get WHT/DR BLU 11.8 volts and WHT/ LT GRN 11.0 volts when i have the HIGH BEAMS ON THE RIGHT SIDE wires WHT/TAN IS 10.9 volts and wire WHT/GREY is 11.68 volts AND THE LIGHT IS WORKING
SO MY QUESTIONS ARE'* should i have voltage on the connector of the high beam when the high beams are not on
*what would cause the wht/gry wire to be 10.99 volts when it should be 11.8 volts
* how should i fix this could i run a parallel circuit off of the wiring on the fully functioning driver side headlight
Based on what I've gathered, this message means that I need to replace a bulb (and not the whole headlight, right?). I haven't looked in my manual yet...but is there a model number for the bulb if I were to purchase it somewhere (i.e., online) if I intend to replace it myself (and/or have someone other than the dealership replace it)?
I have a '06 Passat 2.0.
I need to replace the original driver side HID bulb on my '07 ES350. I intend on doing this myself. I found the thread that listed detailed steps which I'm sure will be very useful.
Any tips as far as getting to the actual bulb? It looks pretty cramped in that area.
I have the adaptive headlights that turn with the steering wheel. Any special steps needed for this headlight?
I have a 2006 with 15,000 miles and I have noticed under the front of the car on the passenger side there is some type of oil or fluid leaking. Its not leaking on the ground leaving a puddle its some type of build up. What could it be from? When in service for oil changes service never noticed anything. I am due for 15,000 oil change and want to have it checked.

View 8 RepliesI recently had my 20k mile service done which included a tire rotation. Perhaps my understanding of a tire rotation is incorrect but I noticed the rear passenger side wheel was moved to the front passenger side. If the tires were left on the original rims as is, that means it was simply moved from the rear to the front. Is this right? The reason I noticed this is because I have a little curb rash on my rear passenger side rim which now is up front.

He stated that while performing my 10k service, he noticed that there was a crack on my lower engine cover (splash guard) on my front passenger side and that the tire was worn on the inside almost to the metal. He stated that a driver must of hit a curb or a pot hole at a high speed to cause this type of damage... My wife and myself are the only ones who drive it and we are sure we have not hit any curbs or gone over any pot holes at HIGH speeds... some pot holes but nothing my old jeep couldn't handle...
My complaint is that I was hoping that the TReg would turn out to be the off road beast that VW has advertised it to be, but am disappointed that only after 10k miles I need an alignment and a tire change and have not even been off road... what should I expect in the years to come.. I am hoping to not have to treat this Truck like a car...
I was coming home from a trip and started to here this banging sound coming from the passenger side in the front under the vehicle. It already sounds like it busted up some gears cause you can here it being tossed around inside the casing. The vehicle will drive but once I get to around 10 mph it would start banging sounding like gears are messed up.
There is no binding there is nothing that makes the car slower but something is broke. I am wondering if there is a gear box under there near the center console and over to the passenger side in the front. Funny thing is... Is that it started in the back rear but stopped then the front started and then broke something. The back is fine though. Think this could be the All wheel drive also or some part of it.
The little mark on the control knob to select air flow is unlit at night with the headlights on in my 2007 Camry LE. Apparently there is a bulb in there somewhere which needs to be replaced. How to change that bulb and get an indicator at night so that I can position the knob in the correct position?
View 1 RepliesI purchased an '07 Touareg within the last 30 days. Right after purchase, I began to hear a tapping/flapping sound from the front passenger side, seeming to be somewhere in the dash.
I currently have it at the dealership and have been getting mixed answers. First they thought it was something they could fix and today I was told that it was a "normal sound on a Touareg".
Last night while driving in the ice and snow storm we had in the north east my passenger side wiper started acting funny was hitting the driver side wiper and not going full cycle. I think there is something wrong with the linkage,the driver side works fine bringing it in for service Monday.
