My cruise control is out. I have checked the clock spring wiring and it is OK. Going to replace the brake switch today. Looked for the CC module but cannot locate. Where it is on the diesel X.

I've looked at all of the pictures showing that it should be right in front of the a/c unit, underneath the vacuum pump, but on both my 04 and my 05 Excursions, there is nothing to be found on that location. The Ford dealership charged me an hour labor to diagnose the problem and they said it's the security control module which I just ordered.

View 3 Replies1991 Bonny sse. Is the BCM located under the relay panel ? The fan wire harness goes under the relays. Just need to know if it is under the hood. I have the cover off the relay panel but don't see the module. Fan will not shut off. Had to disconnect the battery cable.
View 3 RepliesI am having trouble with all sorts of functions on my 2002 F150 4x4, 4wd not working, cluster module illumination not working, horn not working, reving up and down at idle and sometimes dyin, cruise control quit working. I have been reading it is the GEM module that causes these issues. My question is I ordered a new one from Ford, when it arrives I was told I can just install it and It should be pre programmed. but one ford house tells me that they have to install it and program it. Which it right? I have seen several sites on u tube where people replace the module and then start their truck right up without any issue.

View 1 RepliesDo our cars have a separate cruise control Module? I drove a new 600 the other day and found that the radar (adaptive) cruise will bring the car to a full stop. My 2009 will not. It deactivates at around 25mph. I emailed another 2009 600 owner who is overseas. He said his also comes to a full stop. So I'm wondering if I can put in a new module, or an overseas module, and get the results.

View 1 RepliesWhere is the cruise control amplifier located on an 85 F-150? The Chilton manual just says "behind the instrument panel". No pic or further description. Just looking up from the bottom of the dash I see a "black box" with 2 wires going into the top of it located just between the steering column and the wiper switch.

I have a 2002 7.3L and keep throwing a P0683 code (Glow Plug control module to PCm comm circuit). I have looked though all the Forum posts I could and it looks like the GPR, or the GPCM, or harness are at fault. I know my truck has the GPCM ... does it also have a GPR? I am not getting ANY individual GP failure codes, but the damn thing is having a hell of a time starting in the cold.
1) How do I determine if the GPCM is bad?
2) If I have a bad ground?
3) Bad connector to GPCM connection?
4) If something is wrong with the wiring harness itself
Last night I unplugged the harness from the GPCM, cleaned the connectors, added di-electric grease to improve the connections .. made no difference.

View 3 RepliesI turn my cruise on and then attempt to set it , nothing happens , doesn't set, no light , nothing. I hit coast and the light comes on but still doesn't hold. Should the light come on when cruise is turned on or set? I checked the master cylinder switch and it's not wet. I also did the self diagnostic test and got nothing but the initial first light blink.
