2003 Explorer Sport Trac... The air bag light initially flashes once, pause, twice, longer pause, repeat. I think that is LFC (light flash code) 12. What it means and a possible solution?
View 2 RepliesMy 2003 Xterra has been a great car. Few problems until last year I had to have the timing belt replaced (at 120,000 miles no biggie), the day that I got back from Iraq. Well everything has been great since then until a couple of weeks ago I started noticing some acceleration problems. When I press on the accelerator, especially when the car is cold, it will rev, pause, then resume normal accleration. I would like to point out that the whole car pauses, not just the reving. Mechanics seemed stumped and I would rather know what to tell them to do rather than let them dig around and charge me a bunch.
View 1 RepliesI must be missing something obvious... I have a new GTI MkVI and love it dearly. My ipod plays well through the doohickey in the armrest. But I can't find any pause/stop/play controls anywhere. I listen to audiobooks a lot in the car, so really want to pause or stop the book while I make a call, or when I stop the car. The only way I have found to do that is to unplug the ipod, which is tiresome.
View 10 RepliesSituation: In automatic, coming off say a highway in the 30 to 50 km's (20 mph) range and then trying to accelerate quickly but there is a 1-2 second pause/delay/lag before it kicks in and launches.
It is not 100% consistent but it happens often enough to bother me.
Experience with this issue? What is the cause and is there a fix?
I've recently started a job with a long commute and I've started listening to audiobooks on CD. What is the best way to pause the recording when you turn off the car? If I take the CD out, it loses my place in the book. I'm not sure if it's safe to just shut the car off and leave the CD inside the player. Or if I should pause it and turn it off?
View 4 RepliesI have a 2013 GS Luxury. My wife's work number has an extension associated with it and I need the stored phone number to have a few second pause between the dialing of the phone number's 10 digits and then dialing the 2-digit extension.
Although the number that is transferred from the phone contains a pause (and it works when dialed directly from the phone), when I dial from the number stored in the NAV system the pause does not work. Is there a special character that the system recognizes as a pause or other way to program in a "pause"?
I have just become a proud owner of a gs450h 2006. So far i love it. Just one thing i wanna clear up for peace of mind. It is a cvt gearbox and when i floor it there is a brief pause in power at 70mph ish. Then it flies full power the kw gauge goes all way but a lot faster than the acceleration previous to the flat spot. Its like it changes gear at 70 and hits a massive powerband but id like that to be instant and sooner.
Hybrid passed all tests last week at lexus.
I was driving my Towncar and I've noticed that it chimes 5 times then pauses. Then it does it again. I don't notice any warning lights on my dash board.
View 3 RepliesI am hearing a slight squeal along with a slight pause between first and second gear. It only happens if I accelerate harder than usual. The tranny fluid was flushed and filled about 10k ago and fluid level and is still good. It's a 2002 2.7l fwd with 223,256 miles.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2003 Honda Accord with 207,000 miles on it. It's been doing the following:
- From Reverse to Drive, there’s a 2 - 3 second pause before it engages
- Sometimes when driving at higher speeds (55 - 70mph) then slowing down for a light or an exit, the car will sort of lurch/jerk around 30mph on the slow down. It’s very noticeable.
- Check Engine light has been coming on off for months. I thought it was a gas cap issue but the mechanic said it’s a P0506 code.
- Hard shifting in my day-to-day driving- Just fyi, we had the transmission rebuilt a year and a half ago.
We’ve taken it to the transmission shop twice and they said they don’t feel the things we describe and are getting no codes. We’ve taken it to the Honda dealer twice and the honda mechanic did a software update that didn’t fix the issue. I took it back and then he said he felt the hard shift/delay from R to D and that it is a transmission issue because the engine wouldn’t be engaged at all from R to D. The CE light wasn’t on for that visit and wasn't giving a code but then the CE light came back on when I was on my way back to the transmission shop. I read that there are specific things to do to try to clear the P0506 code (clean the throttle body, check for vacuum leaks, etc.) but our Honda dealer didn’t do any of those things.
Is there an engine issue related to the P0506 code that could make my car do these things but feel like a transmission issue even if it’s not (since I’m not getting any transmission codes)? Could I have two separate issues - whatever is triggering the P0506 code and then whatever is making the car shift hard, slow to engage, and jerk when slowing down? My transmission guy told me since they’re not feeling anything or getting any codes, the only thing left for them to do is take out the transmission. I’m at a loss and feel like I’m wasting their time, but there’s definitely something wrong.
On highway, at higher speeds (50-70), I notice that the vehicle's acceleration will pause and the rpms will bounce a bit. Best description I can give is that it feels as if someone were constantly pinching and releasing the gas line. Short revvv...revvv...revvv. The vehicle doesn't lose power. I get where I am going. And it only occurs up at these higher speeds.

My 09 Tacoma 91000 miles- symptom: when idling with foot on the brake, on occasion, experiences engine pause/subtle forward sensation; otherwise drives superb. Service shop said the issue is remedied by replacing the drive shaft thereby switching out the "yoke" which is the source of the problem. Shop said this is a common problem with 09 Tacomas. Does this need immediate repair or can I drive safely?
View 19 RepliesCan Display Audio's phone interface accept pauses or waits (P or W) in the phone number? My phone uses them for voicemail passwords, eg dial the number, pause a few seconds, and then dial the password. So far it does not work at all through the bluetooth interface when initiated through voice command ("call xxx xxx xxxx pp yyyy#") or through the car's screen. I tried to directly store a similar number into the Display Audio "stored" numbers but could not find an option for the P pause.

View 3 RepliesSo I've been noticing some issues with my 2011 GTI with only 1800 miles. I had some weird drive by wire issues, like the motor holding its RPMs with the clutch in for excessive time, a start up and idle issue (TPS?), my passenger window is very slow (heard that this is common), and now my driver window hesitates and pauses when rolling it down... ERR!
And yes I will take it to the dealer, its just that I live 100 plus miles away.
I have a 2004 250 SD. Supercab. Took out the bench and replaced with captains or buckets, whatever you want to call them. Perfect fit. The new seats have their own seat belts built in to them. The old ones, were mounted to the floor and roof. Now the air bag light blinks for a fairly long time, then stays on! What? OK, So, what do I NOT know about this project? I did have to make the wires longer in order to reconnect the plugs. Not a problem, I am an electrician. Trouble shooting is ok, when you know where to start.

It has only started doing this since last night when I replaced my factory tape deck with a factory Cd player from a 2002 F-150.

View 9 RepliesOk, I have a strange no start issue right now. My excursion won't start. I have power to everything and both batteries are at 12 volts or a bit more but the starter won't engage. If you turn the key to start all that happens is relays click under the dash and the airbag light flashes. It almost seems like the transmission is in gear. It did this twice about a month ago and has been fine ever since until today.
View 8 RepliesAbout 6 weeks ago my 2004 4.6 scab had a glitch in that when you got going the seat belt warning chimes came on, to clear it stop at the next junction turn off re start and away you go. Now today its moved a step further on, the airbag not working light flashes and then stops on, but no seat belt chimes?
