What is the common cause of brake light failure? I drive a 2005 F150 Lariat 4X4. When i started the lights flickered until they completely stopped working. To me it seems like a short, is there a specific, common place where a wire is not properly mounted or rubs on something?

He said some of those LED brake light needs to be reprogrammed after installation at the dealership but he is not sure until he get it installed. Does the LED assembly needs to be programmed after installation?
View 5 RepliesI have a 2005 F250 5.4 3V Triton work truck that the tail lights will not work on. When I turn my lights on, the front running lights come on but no tail lights. I have brake lights, turn signals, emergency flashers, but no tail lights. I have checked all my fuses, checked the wiring and even replaced the bulbs, but still no tail lights. I turned my lights on and pulled the fuse that powered them and the parking lamps on the front went off, I replaced the fuse and they came back on but still no tail lights. I got pulled over by a state trooper because of it so I would really like to get to the bottom of this.

The last time it stopped working was about a week ago, and hasn't worked since. I have read about horn relay fuses, tail light fuses, some sort of module on the engine. Where should I start?
My driver side power window on my '05 super crew f150 has stopped working. It rolled down maybe 3-4 inches or so and the stopped working and now will not go up or down. All of the other windows/locks/mirrors on the main switch work so I'm not sure if I should start with replacing the motor or try the switch first.

View 2 Replies I was driving my F2007 Ford Focus and all the lights on the dash went on and then all the power went off and the car stopped. Once it stopped, there was no way to get the power on and I couldn't switched gears. I guess I shifted into park once the car started freaking out and now it's impossible to switch to neutral. The only light on the dash that works is the anti-theft symbol, which seems to go on for a second when I turn the ignition on. It doesn't stay on solid.
From what I've googled, it seems like the car's computer got tripped into activating the car's anti-theft locking system? I'm not really sure. (I was driving the car while this happened -- scary!) But AAA towed the car to a random auto repair shop near my house. Should I be having a Ford dealership look at this? Or is it fine in the hands of a private repair shop? Timing couldn't be worse -- I was going to drive my car across country for a new job in two days, so I'm hoping this can be sorted quickly and my car will be safe to drive by then.
I have a 1999 Super Duty 5.4l Manual transmission 4x4 105,000 miles the cruise control stopped working a month ago, I didn't think much of it because I frankly don't use cruise as this vehicle is usually used to tow and I don't run cruise towing.
Long story short I went to tow my camp trailer and noticed my brake controller was not actuating the trailer brakes when I braked, the controller is showing connected and when I manually actuate the controller its working, so I knew I had a brake light issue, I checked the brakes and sure enough I have no functioning brake lights.
I bought a Motorcraft OEM brake pedal switch and replaced it to no avail,I have also checked the applicable fuses they are fine. I have a master cylinder cruise control switch to change but have my doubts this is the issue since the brake lights and cruise are non functional.
I have a '97 AWD and my brake light, turn signals and emergency flasher have stopped working. I've checked all the bulbs, checked all the fuses (under the dash) replaced the flasher just in front of the fuse box...nothing. All the running lights work, and the 3rd brake light above the rear door window works.

Today I was informed by a passing motorist that my brake lights had stopped working. Upon checking, they were right. The lights do not come on at all when the brake is pushed, including the center one. When my headlights are on thought, they do light up, just do not brighten when the brakes are hit.
View 16 RepliesI have an '07 Hyundai Sonata (4 cylinder) with the sunroof and XM. Yesterday, someone nearly hit me with their car and told me that my brake lights stopped working. I went home and tested it out and it doesn't seem to work at all. (The third brake light died out a week ago). I checked fuses and they seemed to be okay, tried replacing them with spare ones and still doesn't work (My old rover always had fuse problems). Bulbs look fine and they're definitely not burned out.

View 1 Replies2003 F150 4wd with auto climate control. My blower for heat and AC completely stopped working a few weeks ago. I have checked all fuses, i replaced the relay under the dash, i replaced the blower motor control module. I supplied power to the blower motor itself and it ran fine with no noises. I ran the self test on the controller in the dash under the radio and it passed. I am not sure what else to try.

Not sure if it could be the blower if rear vents still work. Have read that a vacuum leak would cause it to default to the defrost setting, but that isn't working either.

View 1 Replies2005 F150 5.4L A/C stopped working. All fuses are good. If I jump the two inboard terminals on the relay under the hood my A/C comes compressor engages and A/C works. The relay seems to be good, so where do I go next? The relay has no diagram on it so i do not know which side is coil and which side is "contact/switch" but if I plug it in I can feel it "click". How do I definitively test this relay and if it is working, what is the next step to troubleshooting.
