Sync used to read me any test messages that came in on my Samsung Galaxy S6. But lately it doesn't do that anymore. Is there a setting that might have gotten turned off?
View 14 RepliesI have a 2014 ES300H and just recently purchased an iPhone. Used to be an Android guy. Now I see a feature that says Auto Read Text Messages when using my iPhine. However, the car never does. I still have to ask Siri to read it. I have the feature turned on. How to get this to work?

View 13 RepliesI just upgraded my phone from galaxy s5 to galaxy s7. Even though on S5 my GS350 would display and read text messages, it stopped on my S7. I made my text messages work again.
1. Remove all linked phones, unpair bluetooth connection, and restart phone in SAFE mode
. (Google how to start your phone in Safe mode).
2. After pairing and connecting phone to car blue tooth in safe mode, everything transferred, all contacts, text messages, even emails.
You now can receive texts and use the available message replies.
3. Restart your phone to take out of safe more and you are all set.
I didn't even know it could do this until i read somewhere that it has this capability. How do i get my text messages to pop up on my nav screen? (2015 IS 350 F Sport)

Until just about a week ago, my texts were delivered flawlessly to my Nav unit (no new software updates to car or phone). Now, nothing! My wife drives a Lexus SUV and uses an iphone 6 and the same thing has been happening to her, for roughly the same period of time.
What are the setting to enable text message push notifications? I switched to a new phone and lost the feature.
View 3 RepliesI had an android phone prior and everything worked great. Got calls, texts, and music streaming all working all the time.
Then I swapped over to an iPhone 6 and I can no longer see incoming text messages. I'll hear the alert through my car speakers but nothing comes up on the navi screen. I Googled and people said you have to unsync it, then resync it a few times to get it to work. But I haven't been successful.
I have a new 2015 Es 350 (Great car!!). I have paired an iPhone 5s to the Nav system but have not been able to receive e-mails or Text messages on my screen. I have followed the directions but so far nothing transfers. The other iPhone features appear to be working fine. I have activated "send Notifications."
View 5 RepliesOn my 2015 ES350, when I receive a text message on my iPhone a message notification will be displayed on the dash and I can play the message content over the speakers in the car....but here's my question...while I am able to receive and "play" text message content via my entertainment system, I can't find a way to send text messages via the entertainment system...am I missing something?
View 6 RepliesMy 2014 Avalon XLE connects to my iPhone 6 Plus for music and phone - nothing else. I am with ATT. Is there an update coming from Apple or ATT, or is there something I need to do to make the connection work? It's hard to believe that Toyota would not be compatible with the iPhone.
View 8 RepliesSo after updating Sync in my Super Duty the system no longer receives text messages on the stereo. Before the update if I was paying attention I could hit a button on the screen and the stereo would speak the text message. Now all I get is my phone is not blue tooth compatible with the system.
View 14 RepliesHad my 2011 to the dealer multiple times for this problem. If I use a thumb drive or iPod in the usb drive sometimes it will lock up the Sync system. The voice command button wont work. The phone button wont work. I have tried 3 different thumb drives as well as an iPod. It is an intermittent problem. The system never has a problem unless I use the usb port.
I thought I had it worked out by removing the thumb drive when I turned the truck off and reinstalling it after the truck was running but this morning it crapped out again using this method. I thought (so did the dealer)starting the truck with the drive installed was the issue but it is not. Dealer already replaced the Sync module. Did not work. Something in the usb port or connection.
I have a new issue now with my 2011 F150 FX4. The sync stopped working the day before. I got nothing when I pushed the Media button. No phone, directions, menu. Then it started working for a while yesterday then stopped, Later on it started working now it nothing.
View 14 RepliesOk, I've had my truck for a while now and it's the first one to ever have bluetooth audio streaming. The problem I have is that once my phone links into the truck I can't hear any other indications at all......there's no sound for a text message or incoming email or anything that should play from my phone. I never had this problem with the USB link in my Chevy. It's annoying because I need to keep my phone sitting on my lap to feel if I get a text or something. it happens whether I'm using USB to charge or streaming.

She said the music quit playing but didn't notice anything on the screen. Is there a setting I have to change/activate to have the message show on screen?
View 14 RepliesI have a nexus 6 with the 7" Entune with Nav but non jbl unit. Everything works fine except everything comes up unknown for receiving text messages. I played around with the settings a quite a bit. Rebooted the head unit countless times using the hold down the power button for 5 seconds trick. Totally uninstalled Entunes and reinstalled and reconnected it to the phone again and did all the updates with no luck. It does read the messages and the phone displays the contacts from the phone fine but the contacts on the SMS aren't syncing together. Since they are unknown, I am unable to do any of the quick messages thru the entune system.
View 4 RepliesThe media button on SYNC quit working last week(2010 F150, six cd player, no navigation). No voice commands or phone, also can not perform the "Master Reset" because the phone button on dash does not work. I have had this issue before and pulling fuse 13 for a couple of minutes always fixed it. Pulling the fuse no longer fixes the problem. I also tried disconnecting the battery.
I left the cable off overnight and still no luck. I came across a similar problem being fixed by a ACM reprogramming TSB (SYNC (possibly) Fixed by TSB 11-10-22) on a another forum. Do reprogramming working on a dead SYNC system when the hard reset was tried and did not solve the problem? Dealer did not want to reprogram ACM and told me need a new APIM.
I have a 2011 F-150 FX4. The Sync functions have completely stopped. When I press the phone or talk button, nothing happens. What have I done? How do I get it going again?

Just recently (this past week), my truck has ceased responding to voice prompts. I press the button on the steering wheel and tell it 'Bluetooth Audio' to switch to my phone like I do frequently and SYNC times out and starts going through the various options.
After trying this multiple times, I pressed the MENU button to and selected 'Bluetooth Audio' from there at which point it flashes "Bluetooth Connected' and then instantly flashes 'Bluetooth Disconnected'.
In the phone menu, I am unable to call using voice prompts. I also can't communicate (hear or talk) when I place a call from my phone, even though SYNC shows it is in a call on the dash.
Troubleshooting I have done:
Deleted all bluetooth devices and then paired my phone again.
Menu on SYNC and restored factory defaults. Re-paired phone again, no change
Menu on SYNC, Master Reset, re-paired my phone and no change.
My phone worked perfectly in this truck before last Sunday (3-2-15) and still works perfectly in my wife's 2010 Fusion w/SYNC so I do not believe it is the phone. It is very frustrating as I have a long commute and use the SYNC features everyday, especially the hands free calling.
