I have text message alert set up, so when they come in it pops up on screen and I can read it or have it read to me...... But after reading is there a way to delete messages from the Info system ?
View 13 RepliesI have a 2014 ES300H and just recently purchased an iPhone. Used to be an Android guy. Now I see a feature that says Auto Read Text Messages when using my iPhine. However, the car never does. I still have to ask Siri to read it. I have the feature turned on. How to get this to work?
View 7 RepliesOn my 2015 ES350, when I receive a text message on my iPhone a message notification will be displayed on the dash and I can play the message content over the speakers in the car....but here's my question...while I am able to receive and "play" text message content via my entertainment system, I can't find a way to send text messages via the entertainment system...am I missing something?

Until just about a week ago, my texts were delivered flawlessly to my Nav unit (no new software updates to car or phone). Now, nothing! My wife drives a Lexus SUV and uses an iphone 6 and the same thing has been happening to her, for roughly the same period of time.
I just upgraded my phone from galaxy s5 to galaxy s7. Even though on S5 my GS350 would display and read text messages, it stopped on my S7. I made my text messages work again.
1. Remove all linked phones, unpair bluetooth connection, and restart phone in SAFE mode
. (Google how to start your phone in Safe mode).
2. After pairing and connecting phone to car blue tooth in safe mode, everything transferred, all contacts, text messages, even emails.
You now can receive texts and use the available message replies.
3. Restart your phone to take out of safe more and you are all set.
I have a new 2015 Es 350 (Great car!!). I have paired an iPhone 5s to the Nav system but have not been able to receive e-mails or Text messages on my screen. I have followed the directions but so far nothing transfers. The other iPhone features appear to be working fine. I have activated "send Notifications."

View 3 RepliesI pretty much have my car all setup now, but one thing that I have not been able to do is receive text messages to where it will display on the in dash screen. I have the Solar Package / Premium Navigation system. As for my Phone, I have the Galaxy Note II with Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) and AT&T. My phone still receives texts while connected to the car's blue tooth, and I can view on my phone, but I'm unable to view on the in dash display, which means I can't send out the quick replies either. Is there something in the phone that I need to set up?
View 7 RepliesI just upgraded my 2010 Camry XLE to the 2015 XLE Hybrid this weekend. Couple of issues... How to get the voice activated system to SEND text messages? I can receive and view them through the car display, but can't get them to respond. I get through all the prompts and then upon sending it stops and says it's not supported.
Second, what I need to get for my iPhone 6 Plus in order to use the built in Qi wireless charger that came with my car? Also, where can I get whatever it is I need to attach to my phone?
I didn't even know it could do this until i read somewhere that it has this capability. How do i get my text messages to pop up on my nav screen? (2015 IS 350 F Sport)

She said the music quit playing but didn't notice anything on the screen. Is there a setting I have to change/activate to have the message show on screen?
View 14 RepliesI had an android phone prior and everything worked great. Got calls, texts, and music streaming all working all the time.
Then I swapped over to an iPhone 6 and I can no longer see incoming text messages. I'll hear the alert through my car speakers but nothing comes up on the navi screen. I Googled and people said you have to unsync it, then resync it a few times to get it to work. But I haven't been successful.
I have a nexus 6 with the 7" Entune with Nav but non jbl unit. Everything works fine except everything comes up unknown for receiving text messages. I played around with the settings a quite a bit. Rebooted the head unit countless times using the hold down the power button for 5 seconds trick. Totally uninstalled Entunes and reinstalled and reconnected it to the phone again and did all the updates with no luck. It does read the messages and the phone displays the contacts from the phone fine but the contacts on the SMS aren't syncing together. Since they are unknown, I am unable to do any of the quick messages thru the entune system.
View 4 RepliesMy 2014 Avalon XLE connects to my iPhone 6 Plus for music and phone - nothing else. I am with ATT. Is there an update coming from Apple or ATT, or is there something I need to do to make the connection work? It's hard to believe that Toyota would not be compatible with the iPhone.

View 14 RepliesThe start up messages take way too long to clear, during which time they obscure the top section of the backup camera? I first get "phone connection successful..." followed by "transfer complete". Between the two messages, the top 15-20% of the backup camera screen is obscured. And it's really that top sliver of the screen that allows you to see more than 4 feet behind the car. I suppose I should just be more patient, but 10 seconds (I've timed it) is an eternity to wait after starting the car before you can start backing out.
So I just back out as if I don't have a camera using my mirrors and looking over my shoulder (which I did for my previous 30 years of driving before getting my GS so I guess it's not THAT big of a deal). I just find it really annoying to put a backup camera in the car and then obscure it with messages. It's interesting that Lexus feels it's important to tell me that my phone has been connected for a full 10 seconds. It would be more interesting to know if I was about to back up into something.
