My radio stopped working on my way to work. I heard a loud "pop" of static and then it shut off. I took it to the dealer, which had a hard time fixing it (they had it about 2 weeks), and they replaced all the fuses in the truck and it worked for about a week, but it just stopped again. Not sure what to do.
View 1 RepliesThe radio in my 1991 Honda Civic has been dying a slow death over the past year. First it would stop working if the weather was too hot. Then it would only work sporadically, finally it almost never worked. Whenever the radio stopped working, there would be a loud electrical "pop" sound, so I thought it might have a short. Yesterday my husband fixed the upper rear brake light (cleaned contacts) so it would pass inspection. Now the radio works perfectly! Are the brake lights and radio on the same circuit?
View 10 RepliesI had to have the starter replaced on my 2009 v10 last week and now some of my radio stations have static. All connections are good? The radio is the touchscreen model, it usually shows the artist name and song, now it doesn't.
View 7 Repliesi have a 2011 fx4 the other day the power seat stopped working and i could hear a clicking sound coming from under the seat. I have searched on google and have found its very common on the older trucks to have a wire splice issue i was wondering if that applies to the 2011 or if there is any other common power seat issues.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2010 f150 XL. 4.6L The power steering would work one day and not the next and work again and so on. But now it just stopped. How can you tell if the pump or the rack and pinion is bad. My reservoir full of fluid. When I start the truck turn the wheels there's no whining sound. Should the fluid in the reservoir be flowing?

View 13 RepliesI have a 2008 Prius.. All has been great except for the radio lately. In the last few weeks the radio will all of a sudden go into an uncontrollable loud static blast. I have to turn off the power to the radio in order to stop it. It continues as long as the car is running. Once turned off the radio is fine until the blast happens again. I have replaced the radio on warranty, but it still has the problem. I also have an external XM Radio attached, but I don't think that's the problem...
View 7 RepliesI have a 2011 lariat with the heated leather seats, out of a sudden the passenger side stopped working. Light comes on but no heat. We did notice leading up to this it was getting extremely hot to the point it was too much heat. Fuse is good?
View 10 RepliesThe drivers seat heat on my 2010 F-150 stopped working. The passengers side works fine. When I press the button on the dash, it lights for 2-3 seconds, then goes out. I have been looking around all weekend for a fix. I found many posts, but they are older and the equipment I'm seeing on my 2010 F-150 looks different. I found the wires coming from the heating pad. I was going to try and test for continuity but the wires have a plastic fitting and I can't get contact to the wires. I found a diagram on Foreparts.com showing that the heated seat control module is part # 14C724. I was able to locate on the passengers side, but not on the drivers side so I wasn't able to swap and see if that was the problem.

Recently the drivers seat would only recline/move front to back tilt on the outer left most side. The seat back appeared to be frozen on the inner/right hand hinge by the center console. It just twists the seat back if I try to recline or move it at all
Is this a warranty thing or is there something simple like a fuse or plug the at could be the culprit?
So I have the dreaded "rear defroster/radio static interference" issue on my 2011 Corolla LE. I turn on my radio and all is good. I turn on my rear window defroster and my FM reception goes away.I am pretty sure I did it to myself because it only started happening after I cleaned the rear window with some windshield washing fluid and a paper towel. I do have a knack for being a bit gruff on things and people unintentionally so I guess I am not surprised. I must have damaged the elements of the rear defroster in the process of cleaning the window. I should have left it dirty.
Anyway, I've read many posts detailing how breaks in the rear defroster grid can introduce EMI that effects the factory radio antennae in the rear window. Some of the answers I have seen suggested are:
1) replace the rear window (really?)
2) use a repair kit. URL...
3) completely replace the the rear defroster grid with an after market kit. URL...
4) replace the factory antennae with an after market unit that is not internally mounted
5) live with it
Are there any other options that I haven't found? If the root cause is the rear defroster, the repair kit seems like the way to go (even if it looks like an annoying task to perform upside down in such tight and cramped spaces). Might fix the defroster if its broken but will it resolve the EMI problem ...
I had a new windshield installed and the first time it rained, my auto unlock,the tire pressure monitor and the auto headlights stopped working. The dealer said that the fuse box got wet. I have since fixed the leak but can't find a fuse or reset any where.

I set my byte 18 to 21 (I had it at 1F because I had the OEM tails already on there) My car does not start after doing this... I just hear these loud clicks and nothing. Everything else seemed to work fine but now my radio just shut off and the car still does not start!
View 8 RepliesThe rubber (insulator?) around the antenna mast was seriously compromised, I noticed, when it was removed for a car wash (an infrequent occurrence). The radio worked occasionally after that.
Then I had a minor water leak through the vent system due to a blocked drainage lip on the particulate filter. The floor was soaked, causing the alarm to go off without warning (now dried and working correctly), but the radio stopped altogether if i remember correctly.
Then the wipers stopped working when it rained (they worked when dry). Replaced the wiper motor, and lo and behold, the radio works again sometimes - when it's dry out. obviously, i need to replace the antenna mast. Will this correct it?
After having jump started my 2002 Ford Focus, the radio/stereo stopped working and would not turn on. I can't eject cds, or even turn it on.

View 3 RepliesMy wife and mom went to the dealership today to get remote start installed on their F-150's (bad decision not to do it from the factory). Both trucks had it installed, and it starts the truck fine, but the problem is as soon as they put the key in the ignition to turn it to "Run", the truck shuts off and they have to restart it. The tech says thats "Normal", and it's because of the "My Key" feature.
Neither of the trucks have had any of the keys set up to be "My Keys", all are exactly how they are from the factory. Something doesn't seem right....

About 3 weeks ago (1,000 miles ago) I took my truck in for an A/C problem. The A/C quit blowing cold air. They diagnosed the problem as something inside the dashboard was broken and they needed to completely remove the dashboard to fix it. The repair worked, A/C was back, and I was good to go.
Last week my Satellite Radio and Navigation stopped working. I was getting a "NO GPS" message on the navigation screen and an error on the Satellite Radio screen saying something to the extent of there was no connection with the satellite antenna. I wasn't sure if something failed or if the dealership screwed something up during the A/C repair.
I booked an appointment and took my truck into the dealer that's 50 miles away from my house. The dealer took the truck, put me in a rental, and I came home. As soon as I got home I got a phone call from the dealer saying a cable had to be replaced and they were taking care of the parts and labor. When I asked him what caused this cable to fail (was it a defect, or was it damaged during the A/C repair), he said he didn't know. But, I'd need to pay for the rental car for the day and that they would make me another appointment to do the installation. At that point I asked the service adviser to have their manager call me ASAP. Two hours later I still haven't gotten a call.
Am I wrong to think that it's not fair that I pay for this rental car? My thinking is if it's defective it should be replaced and I should be put in a rental in the meantime. I paid additional for the rental car coverage to include any repairs and the first day of the repairs... but If it's the dealer's screw up, they should be bending over backwards trying to correct the issue and at least pay for the rental car for the day...
I traded in my 2011 Lariat last month because I had quite a bit of problems with it in the short time I had it. I also didn't care as much for the bells and whistles as I thought I would when I bought it.
I got such a good deal on a new 2011 Lariat Super Crew, that I traded. Shortly after getting the new truck, I had to take it to the dealer for two dents that I found the first time I washed it. I didn't see them when I took delivery because it was dark. I had not seen the truck before that because they got it from another dealer to get the color I wanted. I also had problems with the radio buttons on my steering wheel and the sirius button on the dash not working at times, damaged trim around the left side of the windshield, a discoloration the size of a nickel on the console that I noticed when taking delivery, and a ticking noise in the engine . After the truck was in the shop for 3 days, I get it back without anything being corrected. Parts had to be ordered for the console and trim piece.
I took the truck back in 10 days ago for the engine noise and for them to repair the dents that were there when I got it, along with more troubleshooting on my intermittent problems with the radio and steering wheel buttons. I get a call late yesterday afternoon with the verdict.....Ford says replace the engine due to something being wrong with the crankshaft.
I have to say, I'm pretty disgusted right now. I'm not so sure that I want this truck anymore because of all the issues I've had in the short time I've owned it. Service department at the dealer has been great, and the dealership has been talking about possibly getting me into a new truck. I'm just not so sure I want to try a a third truck. I've been a Ford man my entire life, but I'm disgusted with them right now. I certainly don't want a Chevy or a Dodge, so I don't know what I'm going to do at this point.
