Recently got a 2003 f 250 6.0 that has had a little work done on it. Absolutely love it with 1 exception. When I turn on the ac or heat It blows a 10 amp fuse that goes to the blower relay. It was occasionally now it's all the time.Blower ok, fan speed resistor ok. What or where to look.
View 8 RepliesThe truck starter and radio would magically turn on and off after the first rain, it was hard on the starter and I had to replace the starter and the cause of that problem was the vacuum line coming from the brake booster running over the top of the wires in the 4 plugs attached to the driver side fender. It rubbed through exposing the wires and got wet connecting them. I cleaned them and put the electrical tape silicone and then it has been working fine for a couple months.
Now every time I try to start fuse #20 blows. So far I have traced the wire that goes through fuse 20 through the firewall being the blue wire with a orange stripe on it it goes through the top plug upper left most wire. From there I followed it through the 4 wheel fender plugs the furthest plug from the firewall still being the blue with orange stripe. If I unplug that plug and try to start the truck it won't start but the fuse does not blow.
I then followed that wire all the way to the neutral safety switch. I hate tracing wires. (About 8 hours so far). I am thinking neutral safety switch. Also another thing I am thinking is weird is that blue wire with the orange stripe is grounded when the safety switch is plugged into the transmission and if it is unplugged is is not grounded. And I don't think it is supposed to be grounded because that is the hot wire when the key is in the start position.

2006 F250 with the dash controlled 4x4. I typically keep the front hubs locked on this truck. I have recently noticed that when shifting into 4x4 that the a/c or heat will switch from blowing out of the vents to blowing out of the defrosters. Any clues how to fix this?

When driving around town or on the highway my AC blows really cold but at idle you can tell a drop off in temp. Is this normal due to extreme heat or is there something I can do?
View 12 RepliesI bought a used 99 f250 v10, i went to turn on the a/c today, and it only blows where the defrost is toward the window. it gets cold after awhile, but nothing out the vents, the heat either.

My heat only blows through the defroster. I was looking for my vacuum pump, but can't seem to find it. I find plenty of diesel threads where they show it, but mine isn't in the same location. I can actuate the diverter by hand and it will make the heat stop at the defroster and come out at your feet.
I have attached images of my rig.
Were to look for the vacuum pump? Any key spots to look for failed vacuum lines? What is this?
This is where most threads say the vacuum pump should be.
This switches from defrost to floor when operated manually.
I have a 1995 Ford f250 Powerstroke and i do not have turn signals, rear running lights, brake lights or reverse lights. i checked the fuses and they seem to be good but i dont want to tear everything out to check the harness if it could be a bad ground. any insight?
View 1 RepliesOk so my fire station has a 2003 f550 rescue truck with a rescue body with the round tail lights, we recently upgraded them to the LED ones that are much brighter but of course it flashes at the speed of sound. The question I have is:
1. the relay {flasher} is located on the driver side inner fender? I think....
2. does the same EP-27 relay/flasher fix the problem?
Can't find my manual and getting ready to haul camper in an hour...no trailer parking lamp power on truckside plug. No blown fuse but heard there may be a relay.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2003 F250 Super Duty 5.4L V8 with no heat. It wasn't missing, running funny or blowing white smoke out of the tailpipe and there were no coolant leaks nor did it overheat. Thermostat has been replaced twice, heater core flushed twice, water pump replaced, fan clutch replaced and blend door works...Cabin airflow gets colder when turned from hot to cold. This thing is sitting in my driveway and I am about to push it over a cliff. Did I mention it only has 56,000 miles on it?
Coolant was drained to replace water pump and flush heater core (again, water ran through in both directions with no stoppage). 3 gallons of undilluted antifreeze was put into the overflow bottle to be topped off with water...the coolant went in and stopped. Engine was started to force coolant from bottle...coolant backed up into the bottle and out the top. Heater core inlet hose is hot and outlet hose not very warm if at all. Upper radiator hose is soft. Didn't check lower radiator hose as I was a bit peeved and slammed the hood closed and called it a night. I have been throwing money at this thing that I do not have and am at my wits end with it.
Whenever I manually pull my gear selector into first gear it blows one of the 10a fuses (not sure which number). I lose all gauges and accelerator pedal. It's about the fourth fuse from the right on the bottom row.
View 4 RepliesI am having a problem with trailer lights and an 03 350. When the truck is in reverse the fuse for travel trailer running lights and tail lights blows immediately. Changing plugs on the truck did not work. Truck has been hooked up to 4 other trailers including another travel trailer with no problems. Our travel trailer has been hooked up to an 08 and a 2011 truck with no problems. Fuse 38 20 amp. 7 post rv plug.
View 3 RepliesI recently purchased this truck and have towed a couple of times with it. It has 98,000 miles and I do not know if the automatic transmission fluid has been changed. Should I have it flushed or drop the pan and change it? I have a lift so doing the change is no problem, although it might be worth it to pay a transmission shop to do it.
Also, I hear what appears to be like a heat shield rattle or something that sounds kinda like an exhaust leak during loaded acceleration. What to look for to locate the noise? One last question, the air bag light is on sometimes then off sometimes. Any known air bag light issues? I love the truck, hate the gas mileage!
I just bought the truck and the ac was working and now out of nowhere when you turn it on it just blows hot air so I just assumed it was out of free on so I bought an ac pro but that did nothing.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2011 F250 with ac problems. When you start it in the morning and turn the ac on it only takes a small amount of time for the air to start cooling. If you turn the truck off then start it again after driving to town the ac blows hot air out up to 4 minutes (yes I timed it) before it starts cooling. I took it to a local repair shop and the first time they said it only had half the freon it needed. The charged it and off I went. Same problem. The second time they informed me the fan clutch was not engaging and replaced it. I picked it up and the first time it was turned off and back on it had the same problem. I am scheduled to take it back to the same repair shop on Monday.
View 1 Replies1999 f-250 super duty... okay, here is what i have going on. basically no power to the fuel pump. For the last 2 weeks the fuel pump relay and 1 of the relays behind the radio (next to the blue relay) would chatter and the truck would die. Wait about 5 minutes and turn the key on and if the chatter was gone then it would fire up and run... So NOW no chatter on either relay and not cranking up. - motor turns over just fine- just no power to fuel pump. So I changed out the relay- both behind the radio and the one under the hood. still chatters and no start. i have checked the Inertia switch and 12 volts there... Here is my question, when i turn the ignition on, i have no power to the base of the Fuel Pump Relay.... Where does the power come from to power the relay???

My truck is an 2004 f250 crew cab work truck with 5.4L. it seems that the relay can be mounted anywhere from behind the radio or in the engine compartment as well as built in to the fuse box under the steering wheel.
View 14 RepliesThe #8 fuse under the hood was blowing on my '00 F-250 every time I turned on the healights meaning I would lose power to my park lights. The brown wire coming from the back of the headlight switch showed a dead short to ground that I traced to somewhere between the switch and the firewall.
Anyway, I got tired of trying to pinpoint the ground fault, so I cut the brown wires at the back of the switch and under the hood at the top bolt-on electrical plug and replaced the bad section with a new wire. It works fine now with the only exception being I do not get the park light flash when I hit the remote lock button the second time. I do still get the horn chirp.
My Haynes manual indicates there should be a relay box with a Park Lamp relay, Driver Unlock relay, All Lock Relay, and All Unlock relay. The park light relay looks like it sends the blip of power to the park light circuit. Where this relay box is? I'd like to splice into the brown wir coming out of it to restore the light flash when I lock the truck since sometimes it's too noisy to hear the horn.

Has a starter relay (solinoid) behind battery... put a new relay in there- no go- cleaner terminals... then I put key in start and shorted the 2 terminals in the relay and she cranked right up. That would mean the starter is still good correct?? something in the ignition system?
