I tried to take my tailgate off my 08 F-450 today.
Did it the same as every tailgate Ive taken off in the last 20 years...........it wouldn't come.
Is there a trick to it?
Have a 2008 F-450 that I just got and the trailer light outlet does not work. There is constant power to one pin and nothing on the tail/turn/stop pins. I have checked all of the fuses and relays and they seem to been fine. And yes, I did a search and did not come up with anything.
View 6 RepliesI have a 2008 F250 that the tailgate has always been real easy to open and close until the other day I could not get it to latch so i slammed it and it did latch and it worked a few days but now it won't latch at all. I can open and close the latch with the tailgate down but nothing I do will make it latch in place. I've tried spraying with PB blaster it didn't work. Not sure if its out of adjustment or what.
View 2 RepliesOdd thing happened. All of a sudden the factory emblem on my 2008 tailgate totally lost all of its blue and is now pure chrome. Happened just like that.
Anyway, is it screwed on and do I need to pull the panel on the tailgate to remove it? Here's the tailgate on my truck for reference.
How do I get the front axles out of of the knuckle? It seems like the seals are holding them in? Is there any trick to to getting them out,I am trying to do my ball joints
View 1 RepliesI started my truck this morning, keep in mind it's -28 outside, and after starting it I switched to defrost....I heard a snap-pop and what sounded like something falling in the heater box? I tested all the blend door positions and they seem to work.....noise normal or not? Never heard it before today......

View 7 RepliesOur F-450 with 102000 miles lost both turbos also broken exhaust manifold bolts. This truck carries tools fuel tank and sometimes skid loader on trailer. Heard lots of bad things about 6.4 liter motor now first hand experience. Asked dealer if 6500.00 bill could be reduced since so close to 100000 mile warranty and was told nothing could be done. Can not afford to sell truck now also have two other Ford F-250s newest one 2012. Is there any other approach that could be taken to get some relief from this expense.
View 14 RepliesI have a 2000 ford f450 with the 7.3. the truck sat for about three month and now it won't turn over. When I put the key in to start it only the airbag light and abs light up. when i got to turn it over I can hear the starter just click but the engine wont crank. I have checked the batteries and the starter and they are all good. i have also checked the shiftier position sensor on the tranny and it fine.
View 5 RepliesOverdrive light started flashing this week on my 2000 F450 7.3 mason dump. It only does it when it shifts into 4th gear once it hits that gear at about 35mph the overdrive light flashes until you restart the truck and it resets. Does the same thing all the time but DOESN'T flash if i'm driving around town on back roads and never get to that gear. Could this be something minor besides the transmission starting to go? It drives and shifts fine even when the light is flashing. I wait to get the error code read?
View 10 RepliesI have a 99 f450 and the od light flashes when the truck is in low range. I have to shut the truck off when I put it back in high range to get it to stop. It won't flash again till I use low range again. whats going on?
View 1 RepliesI got a 08 ford f450 sd in the shop with a cracked abd broken bolt in the driver's side exhaust manifold, any tips tricks on getting it out,I have everything loose but I can't for the life of me get the egr cooler out of the way to access the top bolts to the manifold so I can replace the manifold, or a link to a service manual would be great.
View 3 RepliesOD light flashes on my 2000 F450 7.3 but still runs and drives shifts fine. If i turn o/d off before i get going then it won't throw the code and start flashing at all. I am going to check the harness again to see if there are any bad wires. If not is it usually a bad solenoid pack i can just swap it out and fix the problem? I have to replace the pan soon so when I do if I need to replace the pack I'd like to do it then.

View 9 RepliesI have a 1999 F450 that was bought new as a cab and chassis. The truck belonged to my dad who passed away two years ago and now I have it. I am wondering if it has 4.30 or 4.88 gears. The rear end is huge! It has an aluminum cover with cooling fins on it, not sure if they both had that or not. I looked online and I think it said all cab and chassis had 4.88?

View 7 RepliesMy 99 f450 7.3 runs bad on first start of day. I checked the codes 3 codes p0475, p0470 and p1247. Now here is what I tried I plugged it in over night and it will start and run as should the next morning with out side temp 47. Drove the truck late yesterday evening didn't plug up tried it this morning with a outside temp of 47 truck starts but missing and like of power. My problem seems to be temp related. Will low boost pressure cause this problem what do I need to do?

Just replaced my recently stolen tailgate. What are the dimensions for the King Ranch emblem location for a 2015?
Also, any way to tie the tailgate into the alarm system (similar to the way the hood is). I'm guessing that you could possibly tap into the wiring under the hood and add a switch/contact at the tailgate... Also, how would this interfere with engine immobilizer, etc?
