Every time I put the truck in reverse, I get a "Check Rear Park Aid" message on my display.
I tried wiping all of the sensors clean, and I checked the electrical connections and all seem to be fine.
OK....my gas cap (5.4 gasser) wasn't put on properly at the gas station. A couple of blocks later, the "Check Gas Cap" notice came on. I stopped a few blocks later, and installed the cap properly. The notice STILL came on. After messing with the cap 4 more times, I gave up, but the notice is still on. Do I need to have it "erased" like a code, or is there a problem with the cap? Everything LOOKS fine...

View 11 RepliesMy 2013 F-250 Super-Duty periodically won't start or come out of park. I have tried the ignition trick of tuning it to first position but with no luck. Sometimes I can see the light for the indicating light for being in park flashing on and off rapidly and manage to get it into neutral to start. It appears to be completely random. I potentially happens when I drive it for longer periods or do frequent stops around town.

View 1 RepliesI have a 2013 F250 and to day the TPMS light came on with a low tire warning message. A little back history, I put new tires on the truck when I bought it and they currently have 9200 miles on them. I didn't like having the tires at the 80psi the tire shop set them at so I lowered them to 62psi right away and haven't had any issues with the low pressure warning going off. Today I was backing into a parking spot and the warning light came on with a low tire message. I checked all the tires and they were right where they should be, but when I got home I added another 5psi to see what would happen and the light never went off after taking it on a 10 mile drive.
My question is, do I have a wheel sensor issue or is something messed up in the computer? I know the door sticker says 75psi front/80rear, but I've been running the tires at 62psi for 9200 miles without trouble so I can't think that the pressure is the culprit. Also, does the spare tire have a sensor in it? In the manual in one paragraph it seemed like it does, but in the next it said that the spare doesn't have one so the light will stay on to remind you to change the spare out.
Just this morning I tried to remote start my '13 F250 6.7 and all i got was the doors lock and a two honks. The two honks are usually when there is a door left open when you click the lock button two times but all of my doors were locked. After I started the truck with the key and took it out to go run a errand I noticed the check engine light turned on. Could this be connected or just a coincidence?
View 4 Replies2013 f-250 crew cab short box, 6.2 gas with 48k miles. Right rear turn signal does not work...SOMETIMES. I took the brake light assembly off...bulb is good, turned on signal and the bulb will flash so I put it back together then drove a couple miles and then signal quits working again. I can't find any loose/corroded/bad wires at the bulb socket and I can't get the bulb to quit working when I have taillight assembly apart, (trying to replicate failure). There are never any blown fuses either.
View 5 RepliesI'm a new Powestroke Diesel owner. I recently (Dec. 2012) picked up a 2008 F-350 Crew Cab, DRW, 4x2 with a 6.4l automatic. Love the truck. Lots of power. Runs great. My question is; while driving, every couple of days the "cleaning exhaust filter" message comes up on the display for about 10 secs. I understand what that message means and what the truck is doing. What I don't understand is, why does the truck seem to run like crap after? It seems to be down a little on power and the idle surges until I shut it off and restart and then everything is fine.
It doesn't matter how long it runs after the DPF cleaning message displays. Also, three times now since I purchased it it has shown a different message, "drive to clean exhaust filter" followed by "cleaning exhaust filter". This message will stay on for many minutes. What is the difference between messages? Is the truck doing anything different? Is it ok to shut the truck off while either of those messages are displayed? The first time it happened I drove around for 15 minutes or so afraid to shut it off! Unfortunately the truck is obviously used and the owners manual was missing.
I just bought this truck,2013 f250 CC Lariat 4x4. The sliding rear windows opened and closed 1 time and has never done it again. I have read about the motor and cable setup breaking and needing to be replaced. I do not think that is the issue. I have also read that the channel the window runs in needs to be lubricated on a regular basis. I was going to try that first. What is the recommended lube for these window channels?
View 2 RepliesSo I shorted wires out putting a new plug on my mirror, and now I have no turn signals, no backup lights and no overhead display that shows mpg and outside temp. All fuses are good, and I don't think it is my flasher relay just because I also have no park lamps or over head display.
View 3 RepliesI've got a 2012 F250 XLT with AM/FM/CD/AUX radio, and the display is not working. The radio functions fine, as do all other electronics on the truck, but the display is dark. I've tried pulling Fuse #29 in the passenger kick panel, and it looked fine. Is my radio toast?
View 3 RepliesA buddy's 2012 f250 message center is not working at all. He replaced the fuse and it's still not working. The gauges work but not the high tech information center. He isn't sure if it's out of warranty because he can't see the miles. I'm not sure that's it's anywhere related but his back up sensors do not work either.
View 3 RepliesI'm having trouble resetting my oil life meter in my 16 F250. I think I'm doing exactly what the manual says but nothing is happening. I turn the ignition on and wait a second for the ford start up graphics to finish and then press the gas and brake at the same time as far as they will go. The manual says after 3 seconds I'll see a message saying the reset is in progress but I don't get any message on the screen. Am I doing something wrong?
View 5 RepliesI have an issue with a truck I just bought. Sometimes, it doesn't go to Park when I shut it down. In order to start it I have to sometimes put it in neutral. Once in a while it will start when in the Park gear. What I should look into to fix it? It doesn't seem like a big deal.

After doing some reading it sounds like all I need to do is either have my coolant tested or get the test kit and do it myself. My confusion is which test kit to purchase. Since my truck is a 2015 PSD some people are saying that I need to buy a test kit that comes with test vials instead of using the test strips. Which test kit should I buy?
View 14 RepliesMy 05 SD started to flash tow haul mode and check gauges message came on while I was towing my car hauler trans temp gauge quit working then check engine light came on too truck runs fine disconnected batteries then re connect them ( trailer now disconnected) problem solved for about 3 mi of driving then it came back w/o trailer I'm thinking rusty trailer ball on hitch caused this maybe not a good ground for trailer tow computer? What kind of scanner etc do I need to possibly clear this problem out? I am the original owner never seen this happen with this or any other trailer I've towed.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2008 f350 6.4 (105,000 miles) and I am randomly getting the check charging system the batterys have a standing voltage of 13.8 and 13.9-14v (read from the ecu with scanner) both at idle and under a load. I also checked the alternator and its making 13.8-14 all the batteries are tight and there is no corrosion.

1. Key ON.
2. Select OK to get rid of OIL CHANGE REQUIRED message.
3. Scroll down to SETTINGS and push OK.
4. Scroll down to VEHICLE and push OK.
5. Scroll down to OIL LIFE RESET and push OK.
6. Scroll to any % other than what you want and push OK.
7. Scroll to what % you want and push OK.
8. Key OFF.
I have (2) 2014 f250's both have given the trailer disconnected message randomly from the day they were new. Dealer says everything is with in specification. I just live with it now but something must be wrong with the design. Only does it when no trailer is connected an might be worse when it rains. Might have to hit the ok button every 10 minutes so on bad days.
View 14 RepliesMy 2012 F-250 gas just started showing this message that a coolant change is required. I am just over 59k miles. Is this a timed message all F-250's get, or is it an indications something is wrong? The truck does not run hot, it keeps perfect temperature even when I am towing my 13klbs boat.
