My dash cam is supposed to turn on and start recording when the truck is started and stop recording and turn off with the ignition. I have plugged into the accessory plug in the dash. It won't turn off and on. Is there another plug I should be using or do I need to wire it in?
View 13 RepliesComing back from a trip I got a e-brake light show up on the dash then noticed the signals stopped working and the heated seats no longer turn on. I scanned it with my AE and got a brake fluid sensor error come up but nothing about the signals .... is this a common problem or is there a connection between all this? 2003 F350 6.0L .....
View 2 RepliesI have a 2001 f250 7.3 powerstroke it is an automatic. It has the switch on the dash to engage the 4 wheel drive. When I turn the switch nothing happens.. no lights come on or anything. it has warren locking hubs. What my problem is???
View 2 RepliesI'm having an electrical issue that is driving me nuts. I have an '01 F-250 Super Duty that I just put a new battery in today. The truck normally runs great, I drive it to work everyday with no issues. Today, there is a noise coming from under the dash that sounds like the turn signal flasher, and the clock on my radio flashes in time with the noise from under the dash. All my lights are working ok, and all the idiot lights come on as usual when I put the key in the ignition and turn it to the on position. However, my truck won't start. It won't even turn over. I get nothing but a dead switch when I turn it to the start position. The starter solenoid doesn't even click. Like I said, yesterday everything was just fine. I knew my battery was going bad (6 years old), so I changed it.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2004 350. Turn signals quit working don't come up on dash either but when I turn the flashers on the left turn signal on come on that's on the dash and the lights. I replaced the turn signal relay that's under the radio. The old one would buzz when I turned the turn signal on but nothing would come up the new one clicks as it should but I'm still not getting turn signals lights on dash nor the light it's self. The flasher is still like it was only the left one comes on.
View 1 RepliesI picked up a set of harley davidson look-a-like headlights online for my 05. I go to install them and when I tighten them up it causes the turn signal bulbs to push in towards the fender on both. I put my hand back there and it feels like the bulb socket is being forced against the header panel assembly. Am I missing something?
View 2 RepliesI'm thinking of doing a dash swap on my 99 super duty to the 2008 super duty dash, steering wheel, etc. I know the od in my truck is mechanical and in the new one its electronical is it possible to swap without having to redue the whole electrical system and computer? Is the steering wheel going to line up and the ducting? How should i approach the wiring?

View 1 RepliesI need to identify these random plugs under my dash. I think they might be for some sort of alarm or remote start unit and they seem to be tapped into the ignition wires. Suspiciously like remote start plug wires but I can't figure out what unit they would be for?

I stopped to look in the fuse box for a blown fuse but there is no panel cover there.... Im trying to locate this fuse so I can stop to the store real quick on my way home.
View 8 RepliesI seem to be having a run of bad luck with my dash vents. 3 of the 4 vents in the dash have broken and I would like to replace them.
Are these vents made aftermarket? If so who? The dealer wants fifty some odd dollars each.
So I bought this truck a year ago and the guy had his fog lights re wired to another switch under the dash and had a brake controller wired in (that's what I think it's called) the fog lights worked for a month then just stopped working there's a rats nest of wires under the hood for the fog lights too. The brake controller never worked.
My main question is what are the wires that are hanging down under my dash that look like someone snipped ....there's a random green wire attached to one and just hanging
I was driving the other day and noticed my dash lights and park lights were not on. I do have headlights but nothing else. I checked wiring and everything looked fine. I didn't smell any burning wires of any sort. From what I've looked up, I am thinking its my headlight switch..

I did search but have had no luck. My turn signals do not work, unless my foot is on the brake pedal my green arrow indicator wont even turn on. When they do my bulbs work but don't cycle so I know all the bulbs are good as I had my wife check all four corners when I got them to come on for a split second. I have tried replacing the MFS and the turn signal relay under the radio in the dash.... When I do turn on my blinkers I can hear the relay click once but that is it, no more.
I tried checking the wiring in the column and tilting the column to its extremes while trying to engage the turn signals. Also, if I unplug the brake light switch then I do not get an arrow on the IC to light up so I am guessing the power flows through that switch. I don't have a chilton manual yet and the owners manual was not in the truck. I did check fuse 23 ?
The '99 F250 has the parking brake release under the dash, way down low. While I was in the wrecking yard, I noticed many Excursions and Econolines have them on the left, by the parking brake. Whether one of those might work, if I installed it on my '99?
View 3 RepliesI have recently developed a vacuum leak on my 2002 F-350 V-10 under the passenger side of the dash. It is only audible when I am accelerating moderately to heavily or when the truck downshifts going up a hill. None of the vehicles HVAC or ESOF functions seem to be affected by this leak from what I can tell, but it's rather annoying to listen to this loud sucking noise every time I hit the gas moderately hard such as climbing a hill or merging onto the freeway. I don't know how I could search for this leak since it only happens when I'm driving and accelerating and not at a stop. What might be going on or where I should begin my search?
View 2 RepliesI was driving into the night a couple days ago and noticed first that the dash lights are not working. As it got darker I then noticed that my tail lights and running lights were also not working. I have a 2002 F250 powerstroke extended cab. I pulled the fuse panel cover off but can't find a blown fuse.
What fuse number would be suspect, and also if there may be a bad relay in the mix? The daylight sensor on the dash does not seem to be functioning either. In good light the headlights stay on (when switched to automatic mode) no matter if it is covered or not when the ignition is on.
1999 F250 Super Duty 6.8 V10 4x4 157k miles
On Friday afternoon the ABS light on my dash came up, ran the codes on my SCT Livewire and came up with a "P0500 Vehicle Speed Sensor A"
What should I be going after? Rear speed sensor? Front ABS sensors? Transmission speed sensor?
Speedometer is functioning 90% of the time, twice in the last 48 hours it wouldn't then shift hard and I would pull off to reset.
I have looked over the search results and wondered if there is a way to test the sensor with my multi-meter? Seems quite a bit of people had flashing over-drive light's at the same time, which I do not.
My 450 has all power to lights and aux but no dash lights and only the airbag light will illuminate on the dash and the truck won't start there is absolutely any power being transferred to the starter. It only happens after rain or increasing humidity it seems.
View 14 RepliesDiesel truck starts fine. Idles up in cold. Runs fine. Sitting in cab I hear a random clicking. This sound comes and goes. Driving down the highway at 70 it will do it. After an hour or so it won't do it any more. If I shut the truck off and start it again the random clicking will resume it comes and goes? Where to start looking. It sounds like the click from dead batteries but the batteries will turn over engine and start with no problems.
View 7 RepliesI gave my truck a little more gas to hold my speed up the hill to my exit and as I did the truck downshifted. As it downshifted, my tranny light on the dash came on and stayed on. I drove the mile or so from exit to my parking lot and here it sits. Drives fine, shifts fine, and doesn't smell. It needs to be able to make that hour long drive home Thursday night. Is it okay to drive? Is there something I need to do? It's an 06 F-250 5.4.
