I was driving the other day and noticed my dash lights and park lights were not on. I do have headlights but nothing else. I checked wiring and everything looked fine. I didn't smell any burning wires of any sort. From what I've looked up, I am thinking its my headlight switch..

I have a 2014 f250 gas engine that i was playing around under the dash and blew a fuse no dash lights or engine start. found a defective fuse on the passenger fuse box changed it engine starts now but no brake lights and cant get vehicle out of park. is there a fuse somewhere for the brake switch ? if not how can i test to see if this is the problem.
View 3 RepliesIv been chasing an electrical issue with my park lights staying on. Even with the #8 fuse out and the GEM unplugged the lights stay on.
They are being powered by the #4 fuse circuit that power mirrors, glove box light and under hood light are on. With that fuse pulled the park lights go off.
Now I have to figure out how the 2 circuits are connected.
Purchased a new 2016 F250 Diesel. When you shut the truck off or open any door while the vehicle is parked, the interior, markers, and bed lights all come on. I know it is suppose to be a convenience but to me it is a pain. And to make matters worst, they remain on for a short period of time after you leave the truck and close the door. Sometimes you don't want the lights to come on, like when you shut the truck off and are waiting to pickup someone. Any solution for this problem, short of removing the bulbs, or reprograming the computer?

View 4 RepliesI love my new truck. '15 250 CC SB. It would be nice if when I am backing up not to have the dash lights in my eyes once I turn off the head/parking lights at night. I turn off the head lights so as to make everything darker. Much easier to see what is in my mirrors.
View 2 RepliesEver since I bought this vehicle, the dashboard lights won't light up unless it is totally dark out. For example, yesterday I am driving in heavy rain during daytime (but pretty dark out!) and Autolamp turns on the headlights...but none of the dash lights! I always thought the dash lights should be on if the headlamps are on. Sometimes just the needles light up. How do I know if my lights are actually on if no dash lights are on?
View 14 RepliesBought a 02 F250 5.4L a few weeks ago. i have replaced the coils and plugs, put in some fresh oil and some other minor things. Last weekend i drove over to my neighbors and back with no issues, until i went back out to start the truck an hour later.
The dash lights come on, but the engine wont start up. i hear a kind of whirring sound coming from a black canister under the hood on the drivers side. I cant use my code reader and I have pretty much exhausted my little piece of diagnostic knowledge. i originally thought it may have been a starter and got a fresh one ready to install but after thing about it i don't feel that's the issue.
I live in a very rural area and bringing it to a dealership would be a 150 mile round trip. What that black canister is? Why it won't start up?
I have 1999 f250 powerstroke, batteries are fully charged but when you put key in ignition and turn you get nothing. No dash lights, no crank, nothing. I cleaned the battery terminals on both batteries, checked all the fuses under the dash and the hood.

My radio went out and all my running lights. i replaced the fuse radio and now the switch. Still nothing. Could it be a bad ground? i ran a jumper wire on my old switch and they worked then just stopped again. if it is a bad ground where would it be located.
View 3 RepliesI recently got my truck back from the dealership 04 super d 4x diesel (wife put gas in).. Anyway my dash lights, running lights and brake lights are not working. I checked fuses already and I did not see any obvious problems. I also replace the switch but that didn't work. Perhaps a ground somewhere or a relay? Turn signals and headlights work.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2000 F250 7.3 manual tranny that was put away for winter storage and now will not start. Need it to get my weekend work done now that the snow is finally gone. Symptoms:
- not cranking
- no dash lights (no oil light, battery light, etc.)
- radio works
- head lights work
- key buzzer works
- can hear clicking when turn key (assume solenoid OK)
Put in two new batteries, fully charger and terminals are clean. Where should I start looking?
I have checked the fuses on my 2000 f- 350 for the dash lites. They are ok. I have turn signals n all but no dash lites ?
View 14 RepliesDrove to work had no issues, went to leave & noticed that the dash lights didn't light as normal when I turned the key over, then tried to start but it just cranked, checked the fuses all good under the dash & hood.
View 1 Replies I've had the truck for almost a year. It had 2900mi when I bought it. It's got 18k on it now. A few weeks ago I stopped to get the mail and the dash started going crazy throwing every warning you could think of. I got back in and all the codes were gone. I figured it was a fluke until last week. It did it again. I let it run for a few minutes and decided to turn it off. It wouldn't start back up right away. After about 20min, it started and I drove straight to the dealer.
They had it for 2 days, cleared all the codes and couldn't replicate it. They said the codes were U codes and not real codes?? The next morning it did the same thing again. I took it back and after 3 days, they said they could only think that my AMP Powersteps were the cause. They disconnected the steps and wanted to keep it for a few more days. I said no and picked it back up. It made it 2 days and I got the codes again.

2003 f-350 had no dash lights and no start or crank. Found battery cable junction on left fender broken fixed, replaced starter. Drove it sunday, went about 15 mi and just shut off. Towed home was a battery, replaced battery, now I have lights but turn key and nothing? Was starting fine, all summer seems like a cold weather issue. Any relays I should be looking for? View 4 Replies2002 f350 ext cab. Having an issue where my lights are blinking or flashing repeatedly while driving. Or whenever really. Truck running or not. Auto light switch in any position. I can hear what I believe to be the under dash circuit breaker clicking on and off. If I turn my light switch to the on position, breaker still clicks but lights remain steady. Where to start looking? Bad wire? Bad switch?
