I have a 2014 f250 gas engine that i was playing around under the dash and blew a fuse no dash lights or engine start. found a defective fuse on the passenger fuse box changed it engine starts now but no brake lights and cant get vehicle out of park. is there a fuse somewhere for the brake switch ? if not how can i test to see if this is the problem.

View 4 RepliesI was driving the other day and noticed my dash lights and park lights were not on. I do have headlights but nothing else. I checked wiring and everything looked fine. I didn't smell any burning wires of any sort. From what I've looked up, I am thinking its my headlight switch..
View 2 RepliesIv been chasing an electrical issue with my park lights staying on. Even with the #8 fuse out and the GEM unplugged the lights stay on.
They are being powered by the #4 fuse circuit that power mirrors, glove box light and under hood light are on. With that fuse pulled the park lights go off.
Now I have to figure out how the 2 circuits are connected.
Purchased a new 2016 F250 Diesel. When you shut the truck off or open any door while the vehicle is parked, the interior, markers, and bed lights all come on. I know it is suppose to be a convenience but to me it is a pain. And to make matters worst, they remain on for a short period of time after you leave the truck and close the door. Sometimes you don't want the lights to come on, like when you shut the truck off and are waiting to pickup someone. Any solution for this problem, short of removing the bulbs, or reprograming the computer?
View 13 RepliesMy 2002 f350 diesel recently started acting up, the first sign was when my park brake light came on and the chime came on. I mucked around with a few things but still wont go away, while I was doing this a buddy noticed i had no brake lights at all and under further inspection no signals either, not even the clicking noise you usually hear also the cruise control has stopped working as well as the little screen mounted to the roof near the rear view mirror. I am fairly clueless with electrics (I don't even own a multi meter) but i do want to figure this out, i have noticed that fuse 20 was burnt and after replacing it it pops pretty much right when i push my foot on the breaks or signal.
View 10 RepliesThe truck in my sig. makes a clicking noise when it's in the park and I press the brake pedal down. The click is coming from somewhere up high in the steering column. It doesn't make the clicking noise in any other gear only in park. Might be normal but I don't remember hearing it before?

My camper and boat trailer do not have turning signal or brake lights when plugged into the round seven pin trailer connector. I have tried both the connector in the bed and under the bumper. I've also connected the trailers to other trucks and the lights work fine so I know the problem is in my truck.
Pulled into parking lot this morning, 05 F250 CC 4x4 V10, truck starts dinging at me, Park brake light comes on. Ease off of gas and idle around to parking place, no sign of brake drag. Release Park brake, no difference, set the brake and release, no difference, guess the microswitch went bad. Not raining, never hit a bump, MAY have had my foot on the brake, but that shouldn't effect the P Brake.
After setting for the 12 hour shift, all is good and well. Did not come back on.
Where this switch is? Is it under the cover by the foot set or under the truck along the cable? Would like to know where to look next time this comes up. Did have 2 new tires installed on the front a week ago, new tierod and aligned at the same time.
Just wondering and curious, my last F150 had all kinds of electrical germlins in the windshield wiper arm.
So I went to start my truck today (1999 f250 5.4), it hasn't ran in a couple days due to -38C weather. When I started it today, it started rough(understandable in this weather) but my abs light and brake light came on and will not shut off. It ran fine the last time I used it, but now the lights came on. What may have happened.
View 3 RepliesI have 1999 ford f250 superduty 5.4 v8 I noticed that my tail lights were not working I replaced the fuse as it was blown break lights worked until i cranked up and applied brakes. I replaced fuse again an checked brake lights they worked fine until i cranked truck and applied the brakes i did notice the wires were hot at brake pedal switch when they worked while not cranked. I replaced the cruise control release switch I was told that may be the problem since cruise didn't work. it fixed the cruise control but as soon as i pressed the brakes fuse blew again.I replaced brake pedal switch didnt fix it.
I then noticed a little smoke under tailgate i looked and the wire coming out of connector was hot while brakes applied and not cranked. i disconnected that wire put a new fuse in and brake lights worked in center light and passenger side without blowing fuse driver side however does not work. Because I disconnected the brake light wire to driver side green wire. When I reconnected the driver side brake light wire fuse blew.
So I have it narrowed down to driver side brake light. here is my problem. I have checked all the wires that i can see for bad or frayed /worn naked places i have found none I can get to the wires beside gas tank running the rail to check but it is doubtful that it is spot as nothing is rubbing along there. Could it be a relay somewhere? can i just run a new wire from brake light? if so where to i connect to? Is there a wiring harness i can just buy and replace the brake light wires from brake light to power source I have ran out of things to check on my own...
2008 F250 - All of a sudden no back lights when headlights are on. What gives??
View 14 RepliesI have an 04 F250 with no brake lights. However the third brake light works. I've also noticed that my trailer brake lights don't work either. I do have all my turn signals and running lights. Another issue that could be connected is I have one out of four hazard lights. When I push in the hazards my front passenger blinker works but none of the others. Could this all be due to a relay switch?
View 14 RepliesBought an 04' F250, looked good but definitely not well maintained. Have replaced tranny temp sensor, thermostat, fuel filters, air filter.... Etc. heads have been redone and new studs installed , Egr delete, new oil cooler, flushed cooling system. Now tonight coming home noticed the brake lights aren't working, all 3 are out... fuses are good. I've heard multifunction switch or brake switch.....
View 12 RepliesI just noticed a week ago that I don't have reverse lights. I check the fuses all good. I have checked the harness and there is continuity. So that tells me that the relays are good. I also read to check the neutral safety switch but where it is located. After trouble shooting last night I also noticed that I don't have my 3rd cab brake light either.
View 3 RepliesSo, before I noticed a problem, all I had to do was a slight touch to the brake pedal, and the brake lights would come on. Now, they MAY just quickly flash and won't come on unless I really push hard on the pedal, such as at a complete stop.
I've noticed some issues with trying to lock-in 4W-LOW now too, and I know the brake pedal has to be pushed to engage 4W-LOW. Never had problems before now. 1999 F250 Superduty ...

View 1 RepliesI have a 1999 Super Duty 5.4l Manual transmission 4x4 105,000 miles the cruise control stopped working a month ago, I didn't think much of it because I frankly don't use cruise as this vehicle is usually used to tow and I don't run cruise towing.
Long story short I went to tow my camp trailer and noticed my brake controller was not actuating the trailer brakes when I braked, the controller is showing connected and when I manually actuate the controller its working, so I knew I had a brake light issue, I checked the brakes and sure enough I have no functioning brake lights.
I bought a Motorcraft OEM brake pedal switch and replaced it to no avail,I have also checked the applicable fuses they are fine. I have a master cylinder cruise control switch to change but have my doubts this is the issue since the brake lights and cruise are non functional.
I recently got my truck back from the dealership 04 super d 4x diesel (wife put gas in).. Anyway my dash lights, running lights and brake lights are not working. I checked fuses already and I did not see any obvious problems. I also replace the switch but that didn't work. Perhaps a ground somewhere or a relay? Turn signals and headlights work.
