I just noticed a week ago that I don't have reverse lights. I check the fuses all good. I have checked the harness and there is continuity. So that tells me that the relays are good. I also read to check the neutral safety switch but where it is located. After trouble shooting last night I also noticed that I don't have my 3rd cab brake light either.
View 3 RepliesI was adding some more running lights today and tried to tie in to the front running/turn signal light. Next thing I know I hear a pop and now no turn signals, hazards or brake lights on my 99 F250 SD V10. My 3rd (center) brake light does work though when I press the brake, it's just the tail brake lights that dont work.
I can't find a blown fuse for the turn signals or brake lights (not really sure which fuse box it's in since the manual doesn't tell me what fuse is what)
I however did find what I'm guessing are the flashers behind the radio. What might have went wrong where before I start dumping money in to flashers and relays.
The next question is, can I jump in to the marker/turn signals and add another single LED light to them off the front? If I can which color wire does what?
I have an 02 f350 XL. The other day it rained and all of my rear lights went haywire. All problems are out back.
- Step on brakes, high mount, and lic plate lights light up with brakes.
- Turn on marker lights and the high mount lights up and the tails and lic plate lights dim.
- Marker lights on, apply brakes, and the tails and lic plates lights go out on bed, high mount activates.
- Use turn signals with markers off and all of the rear lights including high mount flash..
- Reverse lights dim or dont work at all.
I have tried a new MF switch, checked all fuses. cleaned rear frame ground. took apart brake switch and cleaned it. non tilt column but checked wires. replaced flasher. unplugged brake light switch and headlight switch, problem is still there. removed trailer relays, no luck. checked all chassis plugs. disconnected TRS.
I should mention i have 12v cummins swap and a pcs with standalone harness. no problems over the last few months since swap until it rained last monday.
My daughter came home a bit ago and told me the backup lights on my '02 F350 were on. Pretty odd because the keys were in my pocket at the time.
When I opened the door to the truck, I noticed a faint electrical smell and noticed the fan for the environmental controls was running as well.
I'm guessing the light issue is probably a sensor or something at the transmission but why would the blower be running as well?
Early last week I finally decided to try and figure out why my cruise control hadn't been working and discovered fuse F2.34 was blown. Replaced it and went through the test procedure described here: [URL] ....
No issues and the cruise is working again. I had to take it on a road trip for work the following day and didn't have any issues for almost 1,000 miles.
I drove it last night and didn't have the issue. I drove it again this morning to several places and everything was fine.
I've got a tuner with a code reader. Would something like the above problem register a code?
I've not stuck my head under the truck yet (it's cold and dark out.) What sensors I might need to check out? Is there a testing procedure available to ID the faulty component?
The battery is disconnected for the night, but I'd sure like to get this thing sorted before I hit the road for work again this week.
1999 E-350 Super Duty (figured the problem would be the same for van/truck)
Problem: Backup lights don't turn on when in reverse.
Diagnosis: Changed the fused (because it was bad) but didn't fix it. The bulbs are both good. Brake lights, turn signals all work. I understand the backup lights are connected to the Neutral Sensor Switch. To test to see if the NSS was working, I put the van in Reverse and cranked... Van didn't crank (and likewise for D, 1-3).
So I guess the Neutral Sensor Switch works. The fuse works. The bulbs are good. Haynes doesn't have much as far as troubleshooting for this issue. What should I look at from here?
I love my new truck. '15 250 CC SB. It would be nice if when I am backing up not to have the dash lights in my eyes once I turn off the head/parking lights at night. I turn off the head lights so as to make everything darker. Much easier to see what is in my mirrors.

My camper and boat trailer do not have turning signal or brake lights when plugged into the round seven pin trailer connector. I have tried both the connector in the bed and under the bumper. I've also connected the trailers to other trucks and the lights work fine so I know the problem is in my truck.
My 2005 f350 reverse lights just started to not work . So I checked the fuse and it was blown and every time I put new fuse in it blows, where to check. Sounds like a ground issue am I correct .

When I started it today, it started rough(understandable in this weather) but my abs light and brake light came on and will not shut off. View 4 RepliesLooking for a diagram which wire to tap so I can trigger/run my aux back up light? I tried tapping the existing wire behind the tail light and it didn't work, made the truck do funny stuff like killing the ignition. I had read on here on white knights web site that on the newer trucks you cannot use the back up circuit from the seven pin so I didn't try that. I don't have up-fitters and really didn't want to run a wire to the front but will if that is the best solution.
View 8 RepliesI have 1999 ford f250 superduty 5.4 v8 I noticed that my tail lights were not working I replaced the fuse as it was blown break lights worked until i cranked up and applied brakes. I replaced fuse again an checked brake lights they worked fine until i cranked truck and applied the brakes i did notice the wires were hot at brake pedal switch when they worked while not cranked. I replaced the cruise control release switch I was told that may be the problem since cruise didn't work. it fixed the cruise control but as soon as i pressed the brakes fuse blew again.I replaced brake pedal switch didnt fix it.
I then noticed a little smoke under tailgate i looked and the wire coming out of connector was hot while brakes applied and not cranked. i disconnected that wire put a new fuse in and brake lights worked in center light and passenger side without blowing fuse driver side however does not work. Because I disconnected the brake light wire to driver side green wire. When I reconnected the driver side brake light wire fuse blew.
So I have it narrowed down to driver side brake light. here is my problem. I have checked all the wires that i can see for bad or frayed /worn naked places i have found none I can get to the wires beside gas tank running the rail to check but it is doubtful that it is spot as nothing is rubbing along there. Could it be a relay somewhere? can i just run a new wire from brake light? if so where to i connect to? Is there a wiring harness i can just buy and replace the brake light wires from brake light to power source I have ran out of things to check on my own...
2008 F250 - All of a sudden no back lights when headlights are on. What gives??
View 14 RepliesI have an 04 F250 with no brake lights. However the third brake light works. I've also noticed that my trailer brake lights don't work either. I do have all my turn signals and running lights. Another issue that could be connected is I have one out of four hazard lights. When I push in the hazards my front passenger blinker works but none of the others. Could this all be due to a relay switch?
View 14 RepliesI have a 2014 f250 gas engine that i was playing around under the dash and blew a fuse no dash lights or engine start. found a defective fuse on the passenger fuse box changed it engine starts now but no brake lights and cant get vehicle out of park. is there a fuse somewhere for the brake switch ? if not how can i test to see if this is the problem.

Etc. heads have been redone and new studs installed , Egr delete, new oil cooler, flushed cooling system. Now tonight coming home noticed the brake lights aren't working, all 3 are out... fuses are good. I've heard multifunction switch or brake switch.....
View 12 RepliesI am having a problem with trailer lights and an 03 350. When the truck is in reverse the fuse for travel trailer running lights and tail lights blows immediately. Changing plugs on the truck did not work. Truck has been hooked up to 4 other trailers including another travel trailer with no problems. Our travel trailer has been hooked up to an 08 and a 2011 truck with no problems. Fuse 38 20 amp. 7 post rv plug.
View 3 RepliesSo, before I noticed a problem, all I had to do was a slight touch to the brake pedal, and the brake lights would come on. Now, they MAY just quickly flash and won't come on unless I really push hard on the pedal, such as at a complete stop.
I've noticed some issues with trying to lock-in 4W-LOW now too, and I know the brake pedal has to be pushed to engage 4W-LOW. Never had problems before now. 1999 F250 Superduty ...
