A good while back I seen a thread to do this , but can't locate it now. I have a 2012 F250 and looking to make my night time driving better ....... I want to run both low and high beams at the same time and getting the fog lamps to stay on when going from low to high beam.

View 1 RepliesMy truck only has low beams. When you move the stalk on the colum backwords it changes nothing, when you move it forwards the low beams go out but the high beams do not come on.
View 14 RepliesI have a 2006 F-250 Super Duty (6 liter diesel). The high beams stay on unless I pull the fuse (fuse 30). It doesn't matter what position the headlight switch is in. It is like the high beam flash on the multi-function switch is stuck. It feels fine, but high beams stay on regardless of position, even with the truck off. The low beams (if in low beam when the truck is shut off) do go out as do the running lights after 15 or so seconds (normal) it's just the high beams. Also the high beam indicator light is on all the time (until I pull the fuse) and the fog lights will not come on until I pull the fuse. Should I replace the multifunction switch or look elsewhere?
View 10 RepliesI have a 2012 F-250...per DOT specs, the fog lights go out with hi-beams on. However, in my opinion, the high beams on my truck are among the worst I've seen. Low beams are OK. Is there some easy mod to keep the fogs on with the brights?

I have noticed if I am on low beam with fogs on, switch to high fogs go off, switch back to low, and fogs come on but highs stay engaged until I turn off fogs, the go low beam... I have heard this has happened before with other trucks and that it was called a Bambi something? And that there was a possible fix...

My broke and cant pull it or it comes off, but will still work to turn head lights off and on. How to make them come on with the high beams?
View 14 RepliesAll you need to do is pull out the head lite switch find the solid brown wire that is the running lights wire now find the yellow wire this is fog lights wire (these wires are on the gray plug ) you need a 3" piece of wire and 2 blue wire connectors it slips over the wires no cutting any wires then slide wire in the other end of the blue connector after you jump them your fog lights will come on with running lights and will not go off with high beams...
View 4 RepliesI have bought here recently a 1999 F250 Superduty 4x4 with the 7.3l and my problem is my low beam headlights do not work. My high beams and park lights work but low beams do not. I have replaced the MFS and have checked all fuses and wiring and everything checks out. I can not for the life of me find any diagrams on this truck. I have power coming off of my headlight switch and going into the MFS but I do not have power coming out on the low beam circuit. Am I missing something. Really frustrated right now and I can't drive the truck or get plates on it. Also when I flip onto high beam both low beam circuit and high beam circuit coming out of the MFS light up.
View 10 RepliesI have a 2001 F53 chassis Coachmen Mirada. My low beams, and only the low beams, blink off and back on ea. 2 seconds, and the low beams stay on with highs on. I have confirmed with a friend who has the identical model that the lows should go off. The dip is momentary and happens regardless of anything else. The highs don't blink and do go off when they should.
The headlight switch seems to work normally. The multi function switch does turn the highs on and off as it should. Both sides behave the same. The Daylight running lights are separate and work fine. The high and lows are 2 different bulbs. Where do you think I should start checking? With previous cars I was led to believe that a headlight that goes off meant a breaker being tripped due to a short or bad breaker. I can't find a breaker to check.
I am having overheating problems at high speed/high rpm/under load. The only codes ive gotten are EGR dpfe (0401). Truck is 99 f250 with the 6.8 new egr valve, dpfe, new coolant, new thermo, new sensor under manifold. I blew 90 lbs air pressure thru the egr lines, big and small, they were clear.
So whats left? I never hear my fan clutch......should I? I've had other trucks and the fan roared when first started for a few seconds, and then again when you were hot...they really roared.
Is it possible for the egr port where it goes into the throttle body to be plugged? guess I should've checked that when I had the egr off. Would an aux. fan be a waste of time?
This is pulling a 3500 lb camper trailer up moderate hills.
I have a '99 Explorer XLT and when I turn the high beams on, the fog/driving lights shut off. Is this normal? Is there a way I can keep the fogs on while the highs are on?

In my manual, it says the 2002 has a fuse panel behind the glove box. I took glove box out but it doesn't look like a fuse panel.
I have a 2009 F350 and use it almost exclusively for towing. Every time I stop to fill up or eat or whatever I have to push the tow haul button again when I start the truck- no big deal really just annoying at times because I don't always remember to turn it back on. Is there a way to have it turn on with the button and not turn off until I push it again (even after the trucks been turned off)? I suppose while we're on the subject same with the heated seats?
View 12 RepliesMy truck was in 4x4 and would squeal all the time on and off. Here is the situation today, this has happened prior but i just didn't post on here until it lasted for 30 miles on the highway.
4x4 system:
-MM hubs
-all stock minus the hubs
-Pass side vac hose melted against tire (doesn't matter with the MM hubs but too much info is not a bad thing)
-Replaced u-joints in November
-the screeching when not engaged predates the MM hubs that i installed, it occurred when i had my auto hubs locked last year because they would not disengage
Trip:
-average of 45mph
-30 miles from NH to MA (route 3)
-truck was operating up to temp
When it occurs:
-Under Acceleration
-15-45 mph
- when going from stop-30 it makes a hollow tapping noise instead of the screech
- when hubs are locked and t-case is NOT engaged it screeches for about 1 miles and then stops
Sound in the video occurs within the first 8 seconds, its faint in he video but very loud in person. Highway didn't look that bad in the video but i was in a plowed sctretch other than that the last 25 miles were through about an inch of snow and slush.
Just did my first oil change on my 2015 Super Duty 6.2 engine. I got the Fram filter the book called for, a PH-2. There's goobs of room for the longer filter. Would that be the PH8A? The book is about to trying to figure the comparable long vs short filter. Why do they insist on those short filters when a full size will fit? My Dodge Ram Hemi was the same way.
View 14 RepliesActually a couple of questions. I've had one oil change in my F250 6.7. Getting close to the second one. So, my question is, what is the computer using to decide when to tell you that you should change the oil? And, if you changed to a synthetic oil, could you go longer between changes? And, if so, would the truck's sensors be able to tell the difference in the type of oil being used?
View 4 RepliesNoticed the other day that the engine fan on my 2013 6.2powered F250 runs all the time. It's like it has two speeds- really fast where you can hear it running with the hood closed and a slightly slower speed where it still turns fast enough that you can't make out the individual blades. Is this normal with outside temps in the single digits.
ETA. it does this with the heater off also.I've noticed since it's cooled down this winter that when I slow down to drive through town or hit a stop sign my coolant temp needle drops a bit. Thought maybe the fan running is overcooling the engine or maybe it's always done that and I've just never noticed it before.
