The Sync is not connecting any longer to my IPhone 6. I push the phone button on the navigation system and it does not bring up the phone screen/menu. It is a dead button now.

The Owner's manual indicates Fuse 40 protects Sync, GPS and Sirius, so I figure that is the one. When you pull 40 you still have gps and Sirius, so I figure Sync must still have power also. So, what fuse powers the sync module?
My truck is a 2011 F-250 6.7L. It's at 91,000 miles, and I have the PremiumCare extended warranty.
About 3 weeks ago (1,000 miles ago) I took my truck in for an A/C problem. The A/C quit blowing cold air. They diagnosed the problem as something inside the dashboard was broken and they needed to completely remove the dashboard to fix it. The repair worked, A/C was back, and I was good to go.
Last week my Satellite Radio and Navigation stopped working. I was getting a "NO GPS" message on the navigation screen and an error on the Satellite Radio screen saying something to the extent of there was no connection with the satellite antenna. I wasn't sure if something failed or if the dealership screwed something up during the A/C repair.
I booked an appointment and took my truck into the dealer that's 50 miles away from my house. The dealer took the truck, put me in a rental, and I came home. As soon as I got home I got a phone call from the dealer saying a cable had to be replaced and they were taking care of the parts and labor. When I asked him what caused this cable to fail (was it a defect, or was it damaged during the A/C repair), he said he didn't know. But, I'd need to pay for the rental car for the day and that they would make me another appointment to do the installation. At that point I asked the service adviser to have their manager call me ASAP. Two hours later I still haven't gotten a call.
Am I wrong to think that it's not fair that I pay for this rental car? My thinking is if it's defective it should be replaced and I should be put in a rental in the meantime. I paid additional for the rental car coverage to include any repairs and the first day of the repairs... but If it's the dealer's screw up, they should be bending over backwards trying to correct the issue and at least pay for the rental car for the day...
Last year I bought a used '99 F350 w/ ~$135K miles on it. I later noticed that when I pressed on the Overdrive button (automatic transmission) which is on the steering column gear change lever, nothing happened. The overdrive light did not come on and the gear did not change to overdrive.
View 11 RepliesPush the o/d button to turn off, light on shifter comes on as off...and the rpms drop.
Push the button again (turning O/D on) and the rpms increase. It appears its working 180 degrees opposite of proper.
Example to clarify...going down hill at speed, push the O/D off button and as before working correctly the rpms would increase allowing the engine to aid in some braking.
That is now 180 degrees opposite. Push that button while descending and the rpms drop like it got thrown into neutral.

View 9 RepliesOn my way home a couple days ago, my navigation/stereo display started cutting out, and I noticed it only did it when putting additional current load on the system (windows, lights, etc...). I shut the truck off and there wasn't enough juice to start it.
I test at the battery and it is down to 11.4V. I was able to jump the truck and get it going. While running, I only have 11.1V at the battery. I assume this means that my Alternator has taken a dive.
I'm only posting to see if there is something else that I should considering as well... like a voltage regulator or something, but maybe that is built into the alternator?
I'm planning on hitting napa this afternoon to pick up an alternator unless someone tells me otherwise. I'm also interested in opinions on the best alternator to get and/or upgrade.
Just noticed today that my cruise control on/off button is sticking. Push to off it stays pushed off, push it up to on and it stays up so i must physically center it myself. Is there a way to remove the button and take it apart to clean and regrease the contacts so it doesnt stick? Kinda dumb actually since i might have used it eight or ten times since buying the truck new....
View 2 RepliesI have a 2005, f350 6.0. I am new to owning a diesel and have a lot to learn. My truck runs excellent and has no issues,until I push the tow haul button in! It starts bucking at 2,000rpm and my rpm's shoot down to a low rpm and jump back up to a higher rpm. It's like the truck wants to shift but the tow haul is enabling it so it falls on its face i have never heard a truck or seen a truck act like this, but everyone says you don't want to pull with an automatic without the tow haul. I have just been leaving the tow haul off and the ruck pulls just fine.
View 8 Repliesok this is my first diesel ever its an 01 7.3 powerstroke 250 4x4 . with 4 inch exhaust and used to have a programmer on it but it is supposedly back to stock. so I can be driving say in 4th gear and just hit the on button for cruise control without cruise being on and my boost will go from like 15 to 30lbs pretty quickly.... why on earth would it do this the previous owner was an old man who pulled horse trailers and had no clue why either ???

View 3 RepliesI just bought a 2011 F250 Super Duty 6.2L and the manual A/C buttons were stuck on Max A/C and wouldn't change. I fiddled with every switch on the dash thinking it might be a stuck switch and eventually all the buttons started working. This truck has SYNC, which works fine, and I can't find anything else wrong with the truck.
When the buttons are lit, it blows good and cold, in A/C and Max A/C. The problem I'm having now is that they won't light up at all. Visual inspection shows nothing obvious under the hood, and it has a charge of freon. I drove and it id working just fine, but stuck on the Max setting. I'm thinking electrical gremlins, like stuck switch or a relay...
I am having a bit of an issue with my new to me 2002 F350 V10 Ford, I have noticed a few times in the when taking off (first time after being parked)the truck will not shift into over drive unless I cycle the button on the shifter, after that the OD seems to work fine for the rest of the trip. Second thing I noticed is the "OD" light on the end of the shifter will come on at times (indicating the OD is off) even when the truck is in over drive, wiggling the shifter makes the light go out and the truck will not change gears. Would a new gear shifter fix this as it is a bit sloppy?
View 3 RepliesI bought a 2012 F250 6.2L 4wd recently, truck came from Canada, Noticed a sticky residue along button of doors, around hinges, inside front and side edges of hood, some of the goo is in the A/C coil, doesn't have much odor, maybe oil, comes off with degreaser, doesn't look like it came from engine as that is clean, could this be something they spray on the roads up there? Doesn't seem to harm anything just messy if you rub up against it?
View 8 RepliesMy air conditioning on my 02 is having a issue, when you first start it and run the ac all is well and it cools perfect but then after a while it will quit working all together no more cold air, shut it off for a bit then it starts working again and repeats the process, charge is fine, been doing this all summer, it verys on how long it will work somethings for 5 minutes other times 40 minutes give or take, any thoughts?
View 2 RepliesTroubleshooting a problem with friend's 2000 F250. His power windows aren't working and are causing problems with his door locks and interior lights. When he tries to use his drivers side power window, his power door locks quit working. If he puts the switch to raise, the interior lights flash. From what I've read, it sounds like the GEM to me, we've inspected the wiring and it all looks good. I pulled it out today and it looks good inside, no sign of water leaks on it. If it is the gem, how much do they cost and do they require programming?
View 5 RepliesI have a 2005 f250 super duty turbo diesel 6.0 automatic. The problem I'm having is, when I engage the tow/haul button the transmission doesn't down shift unless I feather the pedal. Also the engine will overheat at times. I've replaced the thermostat, but that's all so far.

I am trying to troubleshoot my ESOF not working. Let me start out by explaining the issue. A month or so ago it worked fine, and I took the truck in to get a damaged transmission and transfer case fixed. The shop tried to screw me out of a lot of money thinking I'm just some kid, but I know a fair amount about what the problem was so I called them out on it and they basically said tough and refused to give the truck back. Got the police involved and they got in trouble for fraud, but took sledge hammers to the transmission and transfer case to get back at me I guess.
So I took it to another shop to get a whole new transmission and transfer case. After all that, and also I removed the dash to replace a switch, the ESOF does not come on. The light for 4x4 comes on when starting the truck, so it works, it just does not come on when the switch is put on either high or low 4x4. The wheel hubs are also brand new and I tried in both free and lock and nothing. What to check? I'm thinking either they forgot to plug something back in when they installed everything, or maybe I messed up the switch itself when I pulled the dash off.
I just bought a 99 f250 sd 5.4. The speedometer doesn't start working until it reaches about 30 mph. The transmission doesn't shift correctly until the speedometer starts working. I cleaned the speed sensor on the rear end but that didn't work. I don't see any sensors or switches on the tranny other than the neutral safety switch. What it is?

Got it all put back together and now my auto 4x4 is not working. dash says it's in 4x4 but it's not engaged. Worked fine before this little adventure. It's a 2006 250 superduty gas....
View 9 RepliesI have bought here recently a 1999 F250 Superduty 4x4 with the 7.3l and my problem is my low beam headlights do not work. My high beams and park lights work but low beams do not. I have replaced the MFS and have checked all fuses and wiring and everything checks out. I can not for the life of me find any diagrams on this truck. I have power coming off of my headlight switch and going into the MFS but I do not have power coming out on the low beam circuit. Am I missing something. Really frustrated right now and I can't drive the truck or get plates on it. Also when I flip onto high beam both low beam circuit and high beam circuit coming out of the MFS light up.
