View 2 RepliesI have a abs light on, no speedo until 30mph, cruise works, overhead display went dim and the overdrive light flashes while moving until the speedo kicks in. I pulled the abs sensor rabs only and ohmed out at 2.7 cleaned and reinstalled with no change in the problem I also disconnected the battery's and reconnected. What should the sensor ohm out to? What can I check next? I drive the truck daily.
View 1 RepliesBought a truck that has the speedometer face that reads KMH on the top in the big numbers and MPH in little numbers. Ideally, is there an decal or plate I can affix in front of the KMH plate that will reverse those so that MPH is the more prominent? Or, worst case, where can I get a new plate for the instrument cluster. It's a 2012 F-350 XLT gas.
View 10 RepliesHave a 2003 5.4 F-250 ext cab 4x4. The speedo went crazy of a couple days, now it is pegged when off at 100mph. When I drive down the road it goes down to like 70mph. I replace the speed sensor on the rear axle with no success. Also the airbag light came home on the way to work today. Not sure if that's connected or not.

I have an intermittent problem with my Speedo reading zero while I'm doing 70mph on the fwy. since the speedo won't work the truck goes into limp mode, the turbo will not function at optimum level. I have replaced the diff. sensor, the trans sensor, the a.b.s.sensors, the instrument cluster to a reman cluster. Then when I had a local mechanic plug a laptop diagnostic program on it as he was running through the system inadvertently the radio cut out, so I found that who ever installed the after market stereo they cut a few wires to the harness, I went to the junk yard found the harness end and replaced the end. so with all that said and done no one knows what is causing this speedo not to work and limp mode. about 4 years ago the oil pump stopped working and ruined the turbo so the whole front end of that glorious 6.0 was rebuilt the problem started about a year after that.

After replacing the Glow Plug Module and the cam sensor. I have no codes on the scanner. However, after driving the truck for one hour or two it stalled and after cool down about a while t started and stalled after hot. Now I been reading lots of info and this is what I got so far.
Flow Sensor
Fuel injector control
Fuel pump
And one person said that he change the wire harnesses for glow plug on top of the head covers?
2002 F250, 8 inch lift w/ 37's ... Manual locking hubs ...
Ok so my truck has no issues in 2wd even with hubs both locked or when in 4x4 hi/ low with hubs UNLOCKED.
BUT as soon has 4x4 system is in action as I idle forward there's a massive clunking and binding sound like a sledge hammer bouncing off my front diff./ drive shaft. But there's no physical binding of any components that I can see! Just a rhythmic and consistent thumping.
When you turn the wheel either direction the sound intensifies. I even dangled from the side steps as my buddy rolled forward to observe the situation.
My 2008 f 250 with 75k on it is making some unreal noises at 45 to 65 miles per hour. Almost sounds like someone is tapping on the top of the cab.

this morning my 02 decided to turn the ABS light on, and start bouncing the speedometer. plus, the OD light is flashing when stopped with foot on the brakes, but the trans is shifting fine.
nothing changed on the truck except almost 3 inches of rain fell last night.
will AE tell me if the VSS is going bad?
I just noticed the clips in the pictures. Brand new F-250 crew cab.
There are two of them along the bottom edge of the back glass.
I can't find any reference to them in the owners manual and couldn't find anything by Googling it.
What these are and what they are for?
A while ago both back doors on my 01 crew cab stopped working. The outside handles jiggle loose but the inside ones feel like normal. They both went at about the same time. If it's those little black boxes that mount by the handle on the door, how do I even get to it to change it if it's stuck shut? I can't reach my hand in there either to even try to see what's wrong with it. How to get it open?
View 9 RepliesI was taking my boat out of the lake last night. Shifted T-box into 4Low and removed the boat. I then tied everything up and when to shift back into 2Hi and it wont. I have a 2001 F350 diesel w/ automatic and the auto locking hubs.Hubs are not engaged atm. I have never had this issue before and was wondering if a shift solinoid is stuck or something might be wrong with my Transfer case??
View 14 RepliesI have a early 2003 SD with the 5.4 triton. It has a oil leak on the passenger side, the oil blows back and gets on the exhaust.
I have been under the truck with the engine running looking at where the head meets the block and at where the valve cover meets the head and can not see a leak.
Sitting there running at idle it does not drip a drop off the engine but the entire underside of the truck is coated in oil.
I did notice that the depression around one of the upper valve cover bolts was filled with oil, I cleaned out the oil, let the truck run and it stays dry.
I know it uses the ignition key, but after that? 2016 F-250 Crew Cab.
View 1 RepliesI did my ball joints, and the drivers side oem manual locking hub was a bear to wiggle out but eventually came. When I put it back in after I finished, the wire retaining ring clicked into place but wasn't seated as far in as the passenger side (I could still see the wire). Didn't think much of it. Drove off. 30 miles later I heard a pop and saw the hub rolling down the road behind me.
Stopped and picked it up, went home managed to find a pair of locking rings i kept off my Dana 50, and I just cannot get it to go far enough in for the snap ring to fully seat in the groove. I tried tapping the axle further in, I tried tapping on the steel part of the hub with a deadblow, but it feels like it's in as far as it will go. Not sure what to do, driving without a locking hub right now.
I have a 2005 F250 with the 6.0L. I went to pass a person, I got the truck up to 80 - 85 mph and made the pass. Everything was fine for a second or two, then the truck started to rock back and forth violently. It shook so hard, it removed cups from the cup holders. I never felt I lost control of the truck, but I have never experienced anything like it before. I slowed the truck down to about 60 mph and the problem stop. What in the world could have caused this?

Noticed today when I put the truck in reverse there's a continuous steady beep where as before the beep was intermittent, as I got closer to the object it would become faster until it would eventually become a steady beep. Which I'm sure was working correctly. Tried cleaning the Camera lens but it didn't work, it continued the steady beep now I'm worried.

A month ago I backed into a steel pole in a parking garage and trashed my bumper, making me realize I need a backup camera I ordered a cheap ebay camera and 30 feet of extra power and video cable for the install.
Down the road I'll order something better but for now I'm working with a cheapo 15 dollar camera I know where I'm mounting the camera and where/how I'm running the cables, I'm just not sure how to get my head unit to switch automatically when I engage the truck in reverse. I have a pioneer double din touch screen radio as seen here on crutch field.

I have a 2000 f-350 that overheated 2 months ago I replaced the radiator...it seemed fine for a month then started blowing cold air then would start to overheat and back and forth so I replaced the thermosat.......but when i checked the old one with a cooking theromometer it was fine. not long after that the heater core started leaking so i replaced that..and now its back and forth overheating and blowing cold air....then fine for 1/2 hour..then back and forth again.. Truck has 250,000 miles on it
View 12 RepliesI have a 02 F250 V10. When I am pulling a trailer and began to travel over 50 MPH the truck feels like its moving left to right almost like its sliding on ice. Its worse the more weight I am pulling. When I am not pulling anything there is no issues. The trailers I am pulling are gooseneck trailers. What would cause this.
