GTI 337/20th Anniversary :: ESP Lights Came On / Cruise Control Out?
This past weekend my ESP light came on and won't go off...along with that I realized that my cruise control stopped working as well. I did a search...saw something about a brake light recall? However didn't find an answer to this combination of things. The only mod under the hood I have is a p-flo intake. What might be up?

I am getting really irritated with my ac control lights not working. my friend with a gti has the same issue. but we have both changed out the whole piece from a working car and still no lights. i checked my fuses and nothing blown missing 2 fuses (pic card shows KEYS) my lights have been out for over 2 years. some days I don't care but now its really on my last nerve. The last time i remembered they didn't work then one day they did another day.

I was driving home and noticed that it seemed harder to shove the gear shift into 1st gear. I stopped on the way home and discovered that I couldn't put the car into reverse, when I tried, and then started to drop the clutch and go in reverse, it was as if the car was locked into both reverse and a forward gear, the engine would bog and the car wouldn't budge.
I popped the hood and checked the shift rods and they looked OK, no obstructions or broken parts. I played with the gears for a bit and finally reverse gear suddenly started working again, but now 1st and 2nd gear are gone! it does not feel as if it's engaging the gears at all, the lever moves free. No different than having it in neutral. 3rd gear and above all still work OK, so I had to use 3rd gear to get the car moving.

My climate control dial lights have stopped working for some odd reason.. They dont light up anymore.
I checked the fuses, they all seem to be ok (is there even a fuse for these lights?) How do i go about fixing this problem?

2010 UK Santa Fe manual box, suddenly will not set Cruise Control. At same time gear change advisory indicator also stopped working. OBDII tester will not initiate to check things out but first time I have tried this. Fuses checked all OK (I think).

So I picked up a 20th today. The clutch has 30k on it its an oem luk. Drove fine most of the ride home then i went to shift and it wouldn't grab. Got it towed home. trans goes into all gears fine. When you put it in first and try to go it starts to roll but just makes a grinding type noise and doesnt go into gear. I didn't hear any chatter until maybe 10 miles before this happened. I still have pressure in the clutch pedal as well. when the car is in neutral running there isnt any noise which makes me think it isnt the throw out bearing.

I do not have any cruise or air conditioning, the chime for the emergency brake is not coming on when you pull the brake and if you push the recirculate button for the air/ heat. the brake light comes on dash. I checked all the grounds I could find, I do not have power on either side of the five amp fuse marked air conditioning

I have a 20th AE. My traction control light went on and stayed on while I was driving and now it won't go away. I hit the switch to try to turn traction control on, but the light still on and traction control is still inoperative. I get in my car to leave Target last night and the ABS light & "traction control off" light (normally on when I push the ECS button on the dash) turned on. Did the usual turn the car off and wait for routine, but that didn't work. Haven't made any changes to the car, and it hasn't rained in a while either so I don't think it's due to water shorting something out. So a week ago i needed to change my mass air sensor due to every time it was raining it would almost stale and my check engine light was on. Now this week both my traction and engine lights are on always. When i start my car u. The morning it turns over but almost dies due to The rpms so low basically it's almost stalling if i give it gas usually it kicks it over then stays on no problem. so another winter has come to me in michigan and i had to take off my nice performance tires and put on the winter steelies. but as i come to now with them on, my ESp light has come on, on my dash and wont turn off even if i reset the car. i havent checked the VAGCOM yet cause that laptop is at my parents. the tires are the same i used last year and didnt have this happen either. any thoughts on this and what could be wrong? haveing no traction control in the winter is not cool to have in my book.

Driving home from work, I was about 5 minutes from home, got to a light only to not be able to go into 1st. I popped it into 2nd and drove home like that pretty much. Car will let me get into reverse and all other gears.
I can put the shifter towards first but it doesn't fully go in and when I gave it gas it would let me start to creep and then grind a little and pop out.

I have heard that there is a traction control code u can have switched on when your car is started traction control is automatically off and u have to use the switch to turn it on!
