I have heard that there is a traction control code u can have switched on when your car is started traction control is automatically off and u have to use the switch to turn it on!

View 2 RepliesI have a 20th AE. My traction control light went on and stayed on while I was driving and now it won't go away. I hit the switch to try to turn traction control on, but the light still on and traction control is still inoperative. I havn't really checked out what could be wrong yet, so what could be the fault and what I should check first.
View 14 RepliesI get in my car to leave Target last night and the ABS light & "traction control off" light (normally on when I push the ECS button on the dash) turned on. Did the usual turn the car off and wait for routine, but that didn't work. Haven't made any changes to the car, and it hasn't rained in a while either so I don't think it's due to water shorting something out. As you all know, the DIY sticky post doesn't work anymore, so that's why I'm probably posting a repeat of something.

View 6 RepliesSo a week ago i needed to change my mass air sensor due to every time it was raining it would almost stale and my check engine light was on. Now this week both my traction and engine lights are on always. When i start my car u. The morning it turns over but almost dies due to The rpms so low basically it's almost stalling if i give it gas usually it kicks it over then stays on no problem. ALSO if i reev high i hear a little grind or moan noise as well.

View 8 Repliesso another winter has come to me in michigan and i had to take off my nice performance tires and put on the winter steelies. but as i come to now with them on, my ESp light has come on, on my dash and wont turn off even if i reset the car. i havent checked the VAGCOM yet cause that laptop is at my parents. the tires are the same i used last year and didnt have this happen either. any thoughts on this and what could be wrong? haveing no traction control in the winter is not cool to have in my book.
View 11 RepliesSo I just drove home and the battery light comes on. A few miles later the ABS and Traction Control Light come on as well. Then I notice the windshield wipers slowing down, etc. You get the idea.
I turned everything non-essential off and made it all the way home. Of course, after I turned her off, the car won't start now.I took a couple of pictures of my battery. It always looked a bit corroded and messy, but this is pretty bad.
What I need to get the car running again? Obviously the red wire on the left is in bad shape. Is that something one can buy at the auto store? Or should I just bring her to my local shop.
So I was exiting the freeway the other day. It was a long gradual sweeping left hand turn. View 1 RepliesI have multiple O2 codes on my '02 gti. It is giving me a check engine lights as well as the traction control light on. I received 6 codes all but one of them had to do with the O2 sensor and a short except for one that came in as the MAF. Both O2 sensors have been replaced and the codes still won't clear. I bought it in this condition, it runs really well so i wasn't to concerned about it, but the lights are starting to get annoying.
View 2 RepliesAlright i have a 05 1.8t GLI I just installed a 42 draft designs full 3inch turboback, and a eurojet turbo inlet hose, after I put the stuff on my check engine light came on which I thought was gonna happen and is normal but my traction control light came on as well, the cars running better then ever and pulling harder then ever, but when i hooked it up to the computer I'm throwing 18 codes? Ive triple check to make sure everythings tight and in the right spot? What could be wrong?
View 5 RepliesSo I recently (within the last month) replaced my DV for a Forge 007 and my stock air box for an EVOMS v-flow. My cel came on after the DV switch and was throwing the P0420 code at me. Then I swapped the intake and it has been good but I felt like I was running a bit rich and pulled my codes and it now has P0030 in addition to P0420. Why this is? I have 88K miles. Spoke to a mechanic and he says he thinks it is my cat dying. I'm a bit confused since I have a turbo back exhaust.
View 6 RepliesI have been having an issue with my interior lights, namely all the dash lights (cluster, climate, stereo, etc)
I have to keep switching the euro switch back and forth until it finally switches on the interior lights. The headlights still work but not the fogs, unless the interior lights go on.
What this could be? Perhaps an electric problem? Faulty euro switch?
I took my car for a drive and i soon as I pull out of the driveway the abs light and traction light appeared on the cluster. I tried to reset the battery but no luck. I tried to search but for some reason the search is down. What could be wrong with the car? It still drives and seems fine but abs and traction doesn't work.
View 20 RepliesI have a 05 GLI, traction and ABS light are on. Previous owner said they replaced the front left sensor in question but the light still comes on. Is this a wiring issue or is there something I am missing? I inspected the sensor and it seems to be good.
View 8 RepliesI need to know if my 06 GLS FWD has traction control. There's a TC light on the instrument panel, but no TC switch anywhere. Edmunds.com lists TC as a standard feature on the 06. I want to avoid trying to break loose the tires to find out. I've chirped the tires once during acceleration.
View 5 RepliesEvertime I turn left the brake light, traction control and stability control lights come on and the car starts dinging. Mechanic says it could be front wheel bearings because they are tied to the ABS system??? But I have been seeing alot about wheel speed sensors?
Second, everytime I brake suddenly, a cloud of smoke comes from the front end and there is a burning oil smell. The oil is fine and no leaks. Again mechanic says it could be a cracked CV boot throwing grease?
Lastly everytime I put in reverse or when I lightly put pressure on the brakes when driving I get this noise like a humming (errrrrrr) noise. Its not the grinding/squealing noise you would get when brake pads needs replaced. I only have 60k miles on this.
so i bought projector headlights on my 05 gli and they were easy to install and for the first few days no problems, when the car was off and the lights on it was the parking (P) lights (amber lights), later if the lights were on and the car was off the radio would turn on, the A/C and the low beams would be on even if the hand-break was up, and i still have the DTR lights on. is it a short circuit problem???

View 3 RepliesI read about traction control and people having problem in the winter. Here is what the problem. Good tiers will grip when you have snow condition, but what about ice? I don’t care how well your tiers are, how much money you paid, or how highly recommend it, if you on ice and traction control kicks in you are done.
If you get enough speed going through icy snow then no problem, plow right through it, but if in the icy snow traction control kicks in your tiers just stop spinning until it get the grip!, but it can’t because you on ice!
How to turn traction control off? If I’m correct that before 2010 traction control option was optional and now it’s a standard. There few videos on how to turn it off on hybrids, does that mean it will work the same on not hybrid?
2009 Camry SE V6....
