I just picked up a Black 20th tonight. All stock with 48,000 miles. I'll get some pics up asap. But for now I'm gonna be lurking around trying to work out the kinks of the car. The Temp gauge doesn't work and the passenger door only opens from the inside when first unlocked.
View 15 RepliesPassenger door on my 93. I took some pix to try to figure out what was going on and what I'm dealing with because I'm basically having to go in blind. The door opens from the inside but won't from the outside. Awhile back it was becoming difficult to open from the outside, like you really had to give it a solid tug to get the door to open. Now it won't open from the outside at all. I noticed today that the handle is a little loose and I found out why once I looked in there: there is only 1 bolt holding the handle on instead of 2 (not sure how that could possibly be causing my problem???) For now I pushed the door panel back on and shut the door (minus screws/bolts/plates) because I'd like to figure this out soon!

I have a 2003 AE and my keyless entry doesn't work. I have tried all the instructions that i can find on the internet and my manual. I replaced the key in my fob and had a locksmith check and its sending the 315hz signal just like it should. before i take it to the dealer is there anything else i can do? is it my car and how and what do i need to check? what part of the car accepts the signal?
View 6 RepliesI just installed a eurojet race FMIC (bumper fitting was horrible but thats another story) and now my outside temperature and mpg readings are all off on the cluster computer. The temperature actually just rises when i start driving and the mpg doesnt change at all? Should I just disconnect the battery so it resets? ]
View 1 RepliesMy reverse lights are out on my GLI 2004, i bought a new reverse light switch thinking that would fix it but no.......
I then checked for power in line and by jumping it and the light go on
So Switch is goodLine as power
But as soon as it's intalled no go, light out.... it seem's like the lever inside doesn't reach the connector from the switch.
I cant seem to diagnosis this and its driving me crazy. I've got a 05 GLI w standard 9007 headlights. All the lights work (fogs, drl, lows) except passenger high beam. The bulb is NOT burnt out either.....
View 6 RepliesMy sister has a 2004 gli 1.8t with 65k. The temperature gauge says its overheating, the cel is on, but the car appears to run fine, the fluid levels are appear to be fine, and you cant see any leaks. Her fiance thinks its water pump issues...

View 8 RepliesSo my 20th runs completely fine until rain is involved.. Once it rains and I bring my rpms high or use my turbo it almost staples out and the gas doesn't work.. Also I notice it shoots out a puff of white smoke and my. Turbo doesn't spool at the way.. It basically tries and just does something like psh psh psh psh like second spools? Could water get in my. Turbo or something.
View 19 RepliesI have a 20th anniversary gti and the driver side door wont lock and the gas door wont unlock. The passenger door is fine. The drivers side door will not lock from the switch inside the car or the remote. I already replaced the locking module and nothing changed. I also unplugged and cleaned the 3 plugs for the drivers side wiring harness.

View 11 RepliesAfter getting my car washed on Friday I noticed that the key fob no longer opens the passenger door. It used to be that pressing the unlock button twice would open both doors. Is it possible that some combination of buttons or something caused this to stop working? The button in the door unlocks the passenger door just fine.
View 17 RepliesOn the passenger side where the door opens up the paint seems to be scraping off... It's pretty noticeable on my black car. It's only this one side.. The door doesn't touch that piece so I'm not sure what caused it.
View 8 RepliesI noticed that my floors were wet. To the touch they weren't soaked or even a puddle. It was just a damp feeling. I took a moisture reader to the carpet and sure enough I was right. I used a space heater to dry out my carpet. I had it all dry and now some moisture is back and where it gets tricky. The floors that are wet, are in the middle of the foot well in the rear of the car. When I use the moisture reader, I try and follow a leak along the carpet but I can't not for the life of me figure where this water is coming in at. After a lot of teams each most issues seem to be leaky sun roof or leaky seal on windshield. I've cut the nipples off of my sun roof drains already. What can cause this water? have any way to test where it maybe leaking from? In the footwells there are frame bumps and the water is most wet in that location.

I would like to locate the sender for the gauge to do a little testing. I removed a whack of plastic but nothing was obvious.
I install sports MFA cluster on my GTi 1.8t. Now I need to install out temp sensor.I know it's mounted somewhere on the driver side behind air duct.I just need the picture to see how exactly this sensor is mounted. My new (used) euro bora sports cluster. I temporally install the sensor.
