I am trying to wire something, My plan is when a door is open my side marker fender light will be ON as well as the interior lights, problem I am having is when I turned ON my side marker the interior light on my prius is ON too,.
View 1 RepliesJust noticed while I was driving that the led lights in lower drivers door courtesy lamp was on. All other lights like dome are off.... I can open door and dome comes on and close and it goes out but my drivers door lamp just dims a little but stays on.
I tried to leave the car and lock....all lights shut off but the drivers lamp! Had to disconnect lamp for now to avoid drain. What could cause this?
Just a thought.....could the LED lamp go bad and cause this?
I have a 2008 Prius Touring HB. A few months ago, I left the car on Acc mode by mistake and drained the 12V battery. Had to use the manual key to get in the vehicle and jump start the vehicle. Since then I have not been able to open the drivers side door with the SKS and touch sensor. I can lock the door by pressing the black button the handle. Battery in teh FOB appears to be functioning well. Doors unlock when I touch the passenger side handle or the latch on the rear hatch. Key button is up (SKS is operational).
I am not sure if I may have done something when jump starting that turned off the sensor feature of the driver side handle.
I found the tutorial on removing the rear door panel, but I could not get the front door panel removed. I worked on it and got the 3 screws out, but I tried pulling and heard a snap so I might have already broke a clip.

View 8 RepliesThe SKS on my 2010 Prius V used to open all doors when I grabbed the door handle but now it only opens the driver's door. I remember seeing somewhere in this forum that this is one of the few driver customizable options (unless it is for Gen II only) and I should be able to make the change on my own.
View 3 Replies2012 Prius Five. Dealer installed remote start using the stock key fob. This is the one where you push the twice button twice then press it and hold it for three seconds. The emergency lights flash while in remote start but the car shuts down when a door is opened.
A few problems I'm having is that first off the range stinks. I'm used to a chrysler remote start that I could turn on from the far end of my house and I'd hear the car beep twice to know it was turning on. Plus you can hear the V8 start. The Prius makes no noise so my only confirmation is to look out the window and make sure the flashers are flashing. Any way to have the horn beep to confirm? speaking of which, does this car have a horn?
I have punched a snowbank and cracked a front side marker light as well as toasted a hubcap. I looked up the parts and ordered them from an online parts place. The hubcap was an easy fit and that is done. Now on to installing that marker light into the driver side front bumper in my 2012 Prius V III! On initial investigation I see coming at it from the top (under the hood) is almost impossible. Looking up at the bottom of the car it appears there is a removable maintenance panel just under it.

View 19 RepliesRecently completed a six-hour drive and noticed right headlight--high and low beams--and right amber marker/signal light were off at night. Left or driver's side lights worked perfectly. Tried switching on and off and re-starting car with no different results. Parked car at home with intention of trying repair, next day. Next day, they were working fine! Fortunately, we were close to home when this happened and it has not happened, since. What happened to make these lights go out on one side and, one day later, come back? Would like to prevent from happening again.
View 1 RepliesIt seems as if the navigation system on my wives 07 Prius has failed. Basically, all of the buttons on the right side of the MFD don't work. Whenever we press the navigation button the screen goes dark green or has a striped vertical screen.
View 3 RepliesAbout 3 weeks ago our Gen III (Prius III with Nav and Solar) began generating a single standard duration (maybe 1 second, similar duration to reverse beep) beep each time the driver's door is opened. It only occurs with the driver's door and happens whether the car is locked, unlocked, started or not. We had our reverse beep-beep converted to a single beep about 2 months ago and now this single beep is annoying each time we open the driver's door whether we are inside our outside of the car. We could not find anything in the user manual that described why this beep would continue occurring.
View 3 RepliesWe just bought our first Prius about six weeks ago. We purchased a used 2008 model with 83,000 miles. So far we have loved the vehicle. Tonight as we were driving home we noticed that the left headlight was out. I ran some quick tests and determined that the left high beam, low beam, and side marker light were all unresponsive. The left blinker is working fine. I checked the fuses for the left lamp (separate fuses for low and high beam) and all seem to be in good working order. Everything on the right side of the car is working fine.
View 9 RepliesI've recently purchased a used 2007 toyota prius. (My 2nd prius, I also have a 2004). The driver side speaker does not play. The tweeter on that side does work, so I initially assumed it was a bad speaker, however, when I took it to my local car audio shop to get replaced he tested the speaker and it did, indeed work. He suggested I get toyota to look at it to see if it's the head unit or the wiring. It seems really weird to me that one speaker in the door would work if it was, indeed, the head unit.

View 6 RepliesThe right side of my (2011 level II) steering wheel has five buttons: Trip, Dist, air recirc, temp +/-. All but Trip and Dist are duplicates of nice big buttons on the climate console, so are rather redundant.

Recently 2 of front driver side speakers stop working(1 on dash,1 on door) only when I listen to radio and stream music from my iphone. I played with the L/R F/R balance and made sure about it. However when I got phone call and using navigation guidance voice it works no problem.
View 1 RepliesWe have been tolerating a bad squeak in the driver's side front door upon opening, closing (any type of swinging of the door). Dealer tried lubricating it with no success. They told us that they would order a new hinge and "hope" that resolves it. I am a little worried about this. Would you trust your dealer to remove and re-install the door or just live with the squeak?
View 5 RepliesMy 2008 Prius has a dash that won't light up consistently. Also won't turn off until you hold the Start button for about 10 seconds. I found out my problems were a result of a bad 12v battery. So I changed it and the problem continues. Took the battery out and it tests fine. What else could be the problem and how can I fix it.
View 4 RepliesI installed the SIR-TOY1 & SCC1 modules to get Sirius over the factory stereo in my Prius.
The next day my TPMS light was on. It wont reset. My tire pressures are 40/38. I even inflated the spare (although it doesnt even have a TPMS sensor I just wanted to rule it out!).
Im now wondering if installing the Sirius is interfering with the TPMS. I installed the Sirius antenna on the roof, near the rear passenger side. Is that too close to the TPMS receiver?
