We have been tolerating a bad squeak in the driver's side front door upon opening, closing (any type of swinging of the door). Dealer tried lubricating it with no success. They told us that they would order a new hinge and "hope" that resolves it. I am a little worried about this. Would you trust your dealer to remove and re-install the door or just live with the squeak?

View 5 RepliesMy driver and my driver side passenger (slightly) door squeaks when I open and close it. I know it has to do with the door checks. The black plastic thing that holds the door open 1/4 or 1/2 way. I don't want to try something that might not fix it like greasing it. I don't want a glob of grease on there and it still squeaks. Is there a way to adjust it?

View 2 RepliesAbout 3 weeks ago our Gen III (Prius III with Nav and Solar) began generating a single standard duration (maybe 1 second, similar duration to reverse beep) beep each time the driver's door is opened. It only occurs with the driver's door and happens whether the car is locked, unlocked, started or not. We had our reverse beep-beep converted to a single beep about 2 months ago and now this single beep is annoying each time we open the driver's door whether we are inside our outside of the car. We could not find anything in the user manual that described why this beep would continue occurring.
View 3 RepliesI guess it's more of an annoyance thing than anything else. When I drive I like to rest my knee on the this area where the window switch is. If I drive over a bump etc...this area squeaks. Is it worth having the dealer fix or will it just return.
View 8 RepliesDue to the rain this weekend I decided to clean out my interior and do some maintenance. Lately my driver-side door has been making a squeaking sound. As such, I decided to lube up all the doors just in case. Upon inspecting all the doors/hinges I found that both the driver-side rear door and passenger-side rear door hinge bolts are rusted real bad. These are the bolts that connect the hinge to the door rather than the hinge to the door frame.
I inspected the door for any sign of water intrusion, but could not see anything out of ordinary. Also, nothing else was rusted or appeared to be water damaged. I inspected all the other hinge bolts around the car for comparison and they were fine. It is strange that both rear passenger doors have this issue. I bought the vehicle used and the Carfax comes back clean with no accidents or damage reported.
The only other time I have seen this is when the door has been worked on, and a socket was used which stripped the protective paint off the bolt. Even then only the rough edges of the bolt rusted, and not the entire thing. While I could foresee one door being worked on, I do find it strange that both would have needed work. However, this assumption does not rule out the possibility.
My only other issue of concern which may play into this is the surprising amount of sand I find on the exterior. As good as one can clean a car there are always some places that will never get fully clean. With that said, while the exterior is clean I have found sand residue in little crevices (weep holes) and corners throughout. I am sure that sand and moisture would play a part in causing rust to accumulate, except that no other parts show any sign of rust. This is certainly bizarre to me. I plan on replacing the bolts, but would like to remedy the problem before hand if possible.
Have had a persistent squeak in my passenger front door since buying it used 9 months sgo. Tried WD40, even have had dealer install 2 new hinges.. but still have the loud squeak (starts about 1/2 way opening the door).
View 6 RepliesMy front left door, when opening and closing, makes that grinding/clicking/popping type noise coming from the hinges (I'm guessing)...I'm searching for the correct word to use to describe it...like when the door would be off kilter or something and the metal is catching...if that makes sense...you can hear it when moving the door, not just at the halfway point of being opened/closed where it will stay in that position ... There has been no damage to that area...no weight put down on door when opened...and it started out of nowhere.
View 4 RepliesI checked my rx350 battery health and it is good. Still I am having recurrent issues when battery dies. And needs a restart. It happened many times and last one just happened this morning and I have feeling that this is related to rear hatch door...let me explain what happened:
Yesterday evening I went for grocery shopping and opened the rear hatch door using my car key remote, kept the groceries and closed the rear hatch using the button on the bottom of rear hatch door. I drove back to home and parked the vehicle in the garage. This morning I opened the rear hatch again and closed it, drove it to a house one block away, returned home and parked the car.
When I tried to start 1 hour later, the battery had already died. So, I have a feeling that opening and closing the rear hatch door 3 times caused this battery drain.
SE with Nav & Sunroof, when opening & closing Tilt the motor vibrates and the hinges squeak, after the dealer apparently lubricated the s/roof the squeaking etc is still happening..
The service manager says it's the rubber water seals closing or pulling apart! he says that after lubrication just 1car wash will enable the squeaking to return!!!!!
He also says that the trunk on my wife's 2012 Jetta should not fully pop open when using the keyfob, buy it popped fully open for 2 months - now it's just lifts a little..did VW reprogram via the internet? or whats the story...........

View 6 RepliesMy driver's side and passenger side door handles squeak when using them to close or open the door. Its kind of an annoying issue which surprised me due to the quality and fit and finish on the rest of the car. The door handles do NOT make noise when driving the car, only when I grab and squeeze and close or open the door. I will be taking it to my dealer's service centre at my earliest convenience to see if they can remedy the issue.

I got pics, will upload as soon as I'm off work. But anyways, there's a small rust spot on the drivers side hinge, as well as a small spot on the passenger side rear door hinge. It seems rather hard for me to believe considering I'm the guy who periodically washes their car, and waxes all the door jambs and under the hood.

View 2 RepliesDid some searching but didn't find anything on how to replace the driver's side front window glass. Someone decided they liked my GPS unit more than I did while I was at work. Smashed out my driver's side window and took it. Now to replace that window. I did manage to find a replacement window.
Pulled off the door panel and now I'm trying to install the glass. Anything I try though, I can't seem to get the glass back into the tracks. Does anything inside the door need to be removed before I can install the glass back into the tracks? Such as the window motor/regulator assembly? On the left side of the drivers door towards the bottom, there is also another small alignment track. Does this need to be removed as well?
Looking for info on these replacements and is there any manuals out there to assist with the process?
View 1 RepliesI guess the roof needs adjustment since my driver side door won't close if the window is up all the way.
Checked the roof and found there is a larger gap on the passenger side than on the driver side. That causes the unevenness of the roof, I think.
I can lock the doors with the key fob but it does not beep. The alarm sets, and the passenger doors all lock, but the drivers door does not. I have checked that all doors are closing properly, and the transmission is in park.
I also tried both key fobs with the same result. The alarm LED flashes about 6 times before glowing steady - is this a code of some sort?
