My drivers edition gti is 2 weeks old. In 2 occasions, when I put the car in drive, I got that warning chime and some message flash on my dash. It happens so fast that by the time I look to see what it is, it disappears. No warning message stays on, and all fluids are ok. Any clue what's going on before I take it to the dealer? Not sure if there will be a fault code.
View 4 RepliesMy oil pressure warning light has come on numerous times, only happened when I'm in a drive thru or at a stop sign, I switched from VW castrol oil to royal purple. The oil pressure warning comes on flashes 3 times and says check owners Manual. So I did and it says not to idle or run the car... The oil is fine. If this serious or a flaw in the electrical? It still drives the same and nothing has changed.

View 5 RepliesI drive a 99 s/w 2 and this mourning when I arrived at work I got out of the vehicle and the bell that chimes when you leave the headlights on or the key in the ignition the warning chime would not turn off even though the keys were out of the ignition and the headlights were off, however it stops chiming when you shut the door.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2004 Hyundai Tiburon w/ ~ 78K miles. For the past several months it has been living in the garage and mostly been used to drive to and from the grocery store once every 2 weeks. I did let the maintenance lag longer than I should have. I just brought it in to get an oil changed only to be told that there was NO oil in my car. -- The oil light never came on and although there was a subtle clicking, the car really wasn't making noise any strange or loud noises, wasn't over heating, and for the most part seemed to be running perfectly fine.
View 12 RepliesI bought my second Prius yesterday and have noticed that the driver's side seat belt sensor is finicky. Please note, I don't want to turn the warning chime off. I know how to do that, and it isn't the solution I'm looking for. I wear my seatbelt always, but in case I do forget to buckle myself (or my passenger forgets to buckle up), I want to receive an accurate warning.
So, here's what's happening. Even when the seat belt is buckled, the warning chime will sound until the buckle is clicked in *just* right. Sometimes it works on the first buckle, sometimes it takes five or six tries to get it right. I've tried the basics (compressed air, checking connections), but neither provided any solutions. What's my next step? Can I buy a new buckle assembly (or just pull one off a junker)?
The "Low Fuel Warning" light came on my new Wagon the other day but I noticed that there was no chime associated with it. Also, there was a new screen (Vehicle Status) in addition to the usual Setup, MFD, Phone and Audio, telling me I need to refuel but again at no point did I get a warning chime. Is this something that should be enabled? The car is 2010 with 2.0T engine and 'new' (red on white) gauge cluster.
View 4 RepliesABS, Brake, Traction warning lights display and chime sounds when car is started in the mornings. These warnings disappear after car is parked for at least half an hour and then re-started.
They will come on then intermittently while going over a small bump, or sounding horn or turning on wipers. It's like the car is haunted.
So far the dealership has replaced a front speed sensor which solved the problem for a couple of weeks. Yesterday I returned it to the dealership with the same problem and they diagnosed it as a poor battery cable ground and declared it fixed. This morning the lights and chime were back on.
The power steering feels loose & less responsive while lights are activated.
My Audi has always been at about 2 gallons or so, and usually around 30 miles left on the range meter. The Touareg seems to come on much earlier, around when there is 80 miles left on the range meter. Is the reserve on the Touareg much larger than the standard 2 gallon reserve? Is the range meter accurate at 80 miles?

My problem is with the obnoxious seat belt warning chime which seems to go on forever. How to disable it? I use my belt all the time. Don't need a reminder.
View 14 RepliesI just bought a ceritifed pre-owned 2010 RX 450h. I love it, but a couple of questions as I get to know the car.
1) The rain sensor seems to not work. I set the wipers to what on another car would be "intermittent" but the wipers never come on. Am I missing something, am I a dummy? Or should I just get the dealer to replace the sensor?
2) Any way to turn off the seatbelt warning chime?
Took '05, (package 5) to dealer for 70k maintenance yesterday for trip tomorrow. Got new tires, this, that, the other. On the way home the headlight leveler warning comes on, goes off, comes on, goes off.
Back to the dealer, he says it's just "it's time". I am driving 500 miles tomorrow for vacation. He says the headlights are properly aligned and it's probably just the sensor and I can have it fixed when I return because this won't be quick.
I don't know if I can tolerate that darn chime going off every 10 minutes for 1000 miles. Is there any way to turn off the volume of the chime?

View 1 RepliesI have just purchased a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fa and was wondering as to why there is no warning when I get in the car telling me to put my seat belt on either audio/visual.
How you turn it off but I am asking the opposite, no matter how annoying that sound its safer to have that belt on.
Everytime I open the door to get out of my 08 LS460 the warning bell rings incessantly.
The only thing I can think of is that I'm usually in a parking garage and the lights are on due to the auto-feature on the lights. But, I think sometimes it rings even though the lights aren't on.
Sometimes you open the door but don't jump right out of the car. Is there anyway to disable this ringing bell?
I got into my car this morning and saw a orange round with things coming off of it warning symbol. I think that this has something to do with a light out. I did not look but restarted the treg and puff gone. I looked in the OM but did not find it.
View 4 Repliesgot in the car this morning, it revved a little high and now sounds like an air pump is constantly going. You don't hear it as much when you drive but when stopped and especially when you open the hood, its like a compressor is going. It seems to be coming from the back end of the air intake tubing...on the passenger side, not near the intake itself.

I have a 14 IS 350. How do I set the lane departure to beep or chime when I'm getting ready to get in another lane and a car is in that lane? I know it beeps when I am reversing and a car is passing.
