My Audi has always been at about 2 gallons or so, and usually around 30 miles left on the range meter. The Touareg seems to come on much earlier, around when there is 80 miles left on the range meter. Is the reserve on the Touareg much larger than the standard 2 gallon reserve? Is the range meter accurate at 80 miles?
View 6 RepliesThe "Low Fuel Warning" light came on my new Wagon the other day but I noticed that there was no chime associated with it. Also, there was a new screen (Vehicle Status) in addition to the usual Setup, MFD, Phone and Audio, telling me I need to refuel but again at no point did I get a warning chime. Is this something that should be enabled? The car is 2010 with 2.0T engine and 'new' (red on white) gauge cluster.

View 3 RepliesTook '05, (package 5) to dealer for 70k maintenance yesterday for trip tomorrow. Got new tires, this, that, the other. On the way home the headlight leveler warning comes on, goes off, comes on, goes off.
Back to the dealer, he says it's just "it's time". I am driving 500 miles tomorrow for vacation. He says the headlights are properly aligned and it's probably just the sensor and I can have it fixed when I return because this won't be quick.
I don't know if I can tolerate that darn chime going off every 10 minutes for 1000 miles. Is there any way to turn off the volume of the chime?
How much fuel is left in the tank when the fuel gauge reads 1 bar? How much fuel is left in the tank when the low fuel warning starts blinking?

View 8 RepliesI am just wondering how much mileage is left when the low gas warning light comes on? For my 2015 Elantra, the light comes on when the computer says there's about 100km left, but I don't know how accurate that is. I do keep track of my fuel economy, so it's simple match if I know how much gas is left in the tank. My owner's manual says the car has a 48 litre gas tank. When the warning light comes on and I fill it up at the gas station, it usually fills 39-40 litres before the "click". That would mean there's still 8-9 litres left before filling up. But is there actually 48 litres in the car at the "click" or is 48 litres just the complete maximum and the "click" comes on before that (e.g. a full tank is really only 45 litres compared to the stated 48)? What's the furthest you've driven with the low gas warning light on?

View 5 RepliesMy drivers edition gti is 2 weeks old. In 2 occasions, when I put the car in drive, I got that warning chime and some message flash on my dash. It happens so fast that by the time I look to see what it is, it disappears. No warning message stays on, and all fluids are ok. Any clue what's going on before I take it to the dealer? Not sure if there will be a fault code.

View 5 RepliesI drive a 99 s/w 2 and this mourning when I arrived at work I got out of the vehicle and the bell that chimes when you leave the headlights on or the key in the ignition the warning chime would not turn off even though the keys were out of the ignition and the headlights were off, however it stops chiming when you shut the door.

View 5 RepliesJust over 2000 miles on trex and i just got an "insufficient coolant" warning light this evening. the car had been idle for 2 days or so (i.e. cold start) and the warning light came on. I was running a short errand -- and when i re-started the car to come home, the warning did not come up. A couple of questions...
1) I checked the floor of my garage; I'm not leaking fluid. how could this have happened?
2) If the light didn't come on during the return trip, is everything ok?
3) Checking the manual, it says that i must use a specific type of coolant if I'm going to top it off myself --
So over the past few weeks I've grown accustom to my airbag warning sensor and light on, a lot.
First time two weeks ago - Airbag light came on, brought it in...Repaired wiring harness reset light. Light comes on next day, make an appt.
Second time today, brought it in...Just picked it up, fired up the Treg airbag light comes right back on. I was told another harness was repaired and something about a side airbag firing something...
So my third time is in the next week or two... fab. They say the whole harness is to be replaced, which is cool. I respect my service team, the engineers as well... I'm going with the flo, I'm pretty laid back.
My questions is...How long do I need to go with the flow if this keeps happening? All the while this is going on, for every issue I have that's super legit airbag, stepper, running gear. They keep giving me the hook up on, new wood trim, new headlight switch, new mirror switch, new buttons on my center console, new buttons on the nav....
This light went on after i was about 1/2 way though a tank of gas. After i refilled it the sensor went off. This occurred on and off for about 2 weeks. Now the light has stayed on for a few days, than turned off for a few hours. Well now its back on again, any issues with this sensor? I think its just the sensor and hope its not something major. It stays light the entire time and does not flash.
View 3 RepliesI have a VW Touareg 2003. The coolant warning light on the dash keeps coming on and is using 5lts of coolant for every 3 tanks of fuel. Also the oil light has also started coming on. I have had a look around the engine and underneath on the road and have found no signs of leaking. Where the coolant and oil are disappearing to.
View 6 RepliesWhile driving this morning and entering the highway, the light with the triangle came on, I stoped the car right away. Check engine oil levels and turn car back on. Now engine light and warning light stay on, all temp and pressures ok.
Drove to the dealer car feel fine but the screen does not show the gear you are on while driving, blank.

No major problem, just had the warning appear but lights seemed to work normally. I could reproduce the problem once and then it stopped. What is the cause/solution identified by VW?
I left the trunk of my 2007 Prius open long enough for the light to drain the battery. Once I jumped it, I was able to drive the 100 miles home, even though the red triangle warning light was on. Now when I turn the car on, there's a light I've never seen before, as seen in the attached image.
View 11 RepliesI bought my second Prius yesterday and have noticed that the driver's side seat belt sensor is finicky. Please note, I don't want to turn the warning chime off. I know how to do that, and it isn't the solution I'm looking for. I wear my seatbelt always, but in case I do forget to buckle myself (or my passenger forgets to buckle up), I want to receive an accurate warning.
So, here's what's happening. Even when the seat belt is buckled, the warning chime will sound until the buckle is clicked in *just* right. Sometimes it works on the first buckle, sometimes it takes five or six tries to get it right. I've tried the basics (compressed air, checking connections), but neither provided any solutions. What's my next step? Can I buy a new buckle assembly (or just pull one off a junker)?
ABS, Brake, Traction warning lights display and chime sounds when car is started in the mornings. These warnings disappear after car is parked for at least half an hour and then re-started.
They will come on then intermittently while going over a small bump, or sounding horn or turning on wipers. It's like the car is haunted.
So far the dealership has replaced a front speed sensor which solved the problem for a couple of weeks. Yesterday I returned it to the dealership with the same problem and they diagnosed it as a poor battery cable ground and declared it fixed. This morning the lights and chime were back on.
The power steering feels loose & less responsive while lights are activated.
